Beck says Oasis had been one of many first UK acts to embrace him early in his profession

Beck has revealed that Oasis had been one of many first UK acts to embrace him early on in his profession, at a time when he was struggling to get a gig in England.

Talking to Matt Wilkinson on his Apple Music show to mark 25 years of his fifth album ‘Odelay’, the American singer-songwriter mentioned Oasis remixing his 1996 track ‘Devils Haircut’, and the way the legendary band had been one of many first to point out him love.

“England was the one place I actually simply couldn’t gig. There was no love there in any respect for me,” he defined. “So I obtained this name from my A&R, from Artwork Cates, he stated: ‘I used to be simply in London and I used to be hanging out with the Gallagher brothers and I gave them a replica of ‘Odelay’ and so they’re obsessive about it. They usually need to do a remix.’I stated, ‘Holy, shit.’”

He continued: ‘What’s The Story Morning Glory’ had simply come out. And it was large. It was blowing up. So that they wished to enter the studio and do a remix of ‘Satan’s Haircut’. And I assumed, ‘I didn’t even know they did remixes.’”
