After 5 years, LCD Soundsystem made their return to 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s Studio 8H for his or her second look on the SNL stage on February 26. The band’s first look on SNL was in 2017, and consisted of two full of life performances of songs from its fourth album, American Dream. Led by DFA Information label founder James Murphy, the digital band carried out a pair of 17-year previous deep cuts from their self-titled debut album LP, “Thrill” and “Yr Metropolis’s a Sucker.”
After being launched by five-time SNL visitor host John Mulaney, LCD Soundsystem opened the present with driving, percussive tune “Thrills.” The efficiency featured droning synthesizers, and loads of layered instrumentals and cowbell—the thrilling rendition was finally a profitable try at a contemporary revival of early 2000’s digital music, pushing ahead sounds from the previous for a brand new technology to unearth and obsess over.
