Brad Pitt and Nick Cave unveil debut sculptures at artwork exhibition

Brad Pitt has unveiled his debut sculptures at a Finnish artwork gallery, alongside Australian musician Nick Cave.

On Saturday (September 17), the actor offered his first-ever public artwork show on the Sara Hildén Artwork Museum in Tampere, the third-largest metropolis in Finland. The presentation was half of a bigger exhibition by British artist Thomas Houseago.

Pitt’s 9 works within the present included a moulded plaster panel “depicting a gunfight” and a collection of house-shaped sculptures which have been fired upon with various kinds of ammunition.

In the meantime, Cave offered a collection of ceramic collectible figurines depicting “the lifetime of the Satan in 17 stations”, reflecting his life-long pursuits in faith and mythology.

“For Nick and I it is a new world and our first entry. It simply feels proper,” Pitt informed Finnish broadcaster Yle on the opening ceremony.

Talking about his sculptures, Pitt added: “To me, it’s about self-reflection. It’s about the place I’ve gotten it incorrect in my relationships, the place have I misstepped, the place am I complicit.

“For me, it was born out of possession of what I name a radical stock of self, getting actually brutally sincere with me and taking account of these I could have damage, moments I’ve simply gotten incorrect.”

Pitt reportedly took up pottery after his divorce from Angelina Jolie in 2016. In August of this 12 months, he informed GQ that he regarded his pursuit of ceramics not as artwork, however as a “solo, very quiet, very tactile type of sport”.

Cave, in the meantime, studied artwork at college in Melbourne earlier than deciding to deal with music. The exhibition marked his first-ever presentation of ceramic sculptures.

On the pair’s shock involvement within the exhibition, the Mayor of Tampere stated it was “thrilling” to get “a brand new and totally different inventive facet from Nick Cave and Brad Pitt”.

Again in July, Pitt revealed that he’s a large fan of Channel 4’s The Nice Pottery Throw Down and that he’s seen “each season”.
