Alvvays share two new songs, ‘Belinda Says’ and ‘Very On-line Man’
Alvvays have shared new tracks from their forthcoming third studio album ‘Blue Rev’ – watch the movies for ‘Belinda Says’ and ‘Very On-line Man’ beneath.
‘Blue Rev’ follows 2017’s ‘Antisocialites’ and is ready for launch on October 7 through Transgressive. Thus far, it’s been previewed by the singles ‘Pharmacist’ and ‘Simple On Your Personal?’.
On ‘Belinda Says’, the band take inspiration from Belinda Carlisle’s ‘Heaven Is A Place On Earth’, singing: “Belinda says that heaven is a spot on earth / Properly, so is hell.”
‘Very On-line Man’, in the meantime, sees vocalist Molly Rankin taking pictures at an web ‘reply man’. Discussing the songs, which include their very own movies co-directed by Rankin and Alvvays guitarist Alec O’Hanley alongside videographer Colby Richardson, the band mentioned: “Two new lambs for the cultural volcano! Yet another candy slurp of alcopop devoted to the women wiping tables known as ‘Belinda Says’ and the dial-up digital dream ‘Very On-line Man.’
“We painted and shot the ‘Belinda Says’ video in our front room. We directed a mosaic-mode vid for ‘V.O.G’. with our videoguru pal Colby. This was simply the funnest factor we’ve ever shot. Take pleasure in our clunky low-bit collage of aliased key clacking and step-dance scramble in your CRTs.”
