Paper Idol's Debut Album Is a Nostalgic Ode to Childhood: Take heed to "The Playground"

Mixing dance music and indie-pop to gorgeous impact, Paper Idol has dropped his debut album, The Playground.
Out now by way of CloudKid, The Playground chronicles the numerous phases of childhood by eight funky and nostalgic indietronica tracks. “It’s Boyhood the album,” Idol stated in an announcement.
From the grungy guitar riffs of “CNTRL” and the classic youngsters’s choir in “The Playground” to the cheeky future-funk synths of “Shiny Aspect Child,” the album takes us by a uncooked—and electrifying—coming-of-age.
“The Playground is about lacking the purity of childhood,” Idol added. “It’s really easy to get caught up in standing, envy, competitors, need to check your self to others. However we frequently overlook there was a time once we had been simply ‘being,’ absorbing the world round us with no ego, no care on the planet.”
