Brazilian Drag Queen Pabllo Vittar Releases Wig-Snatching Dance Album, "NOITADA"

“NOITADA” features collaborations with Anitta, O Kannalha, MC Tchelinho and more.
Brazilian drag queen and dance music star Pabllo Vittar is picking up steam from an already hot 2022.
Last year she dropped a high-energy dance album, I AM PABLLO (Ao Vivo), which followed 2021’s release of Batidão Tropical. The former featured high-profile collaborations with chart-topping pop luminary Charli XCX and superstar Brazilian singer-songwriter POCAH, among others, exploring electronic, favela funk, Latin dance and more in an emphatic showcase Vittar’s musical versatility.
Vittar has now poured gasoline on her breakout with NOITADA, her brand new album, out now by way of Mataderos. Featuring 11 tracks—including a huge collab with Brazilian compatriot Anitta—the new LP is an empowering song-cycle of genre-bending dance records.

The outspoken Vittar also uses her music to fight against injustice and promote equality for LGBTQIA+ people in her native Brazil. In an interview with NPR last year before one of her shows in Washington, D.C., she reciprocated the love for her fans while waiting at a meet-and-greet.
“I almost cried, too,” Vittar said at the time. “Because I think this is a very personal, you know. These people are my angels. I love so much when he comes to me and share with me all the passion, makes me feel alive.”
In 2017, Vittar appeared on Major Lazer’s album, Know No Better. The supergroup tagged Vittar for “Sua Cara,” which also featured Anitta.
A few years later, Vittar provided a gritty rework of Lady Gaga’s “Fun Tonight” on the latter’s shape-shifting Dawn Of Chromatica remix album. She was joined by Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, Mura Masa, Dorian Electra and more on the album.
