Medasin Drops Dazzling Lead Single From New Album, "Star Song"
Medasin said the visceral track is one of his personal favorites from his upcoming album, his first since 2020’s “RIPPLS.”
In the new era of Medasin, he just wants you to feel something.
The renowned producer has released “Star Song,” the first single from his third album, which doesn’t yet have a release date. Medasin’s deeply personal debut, 2018’s Irene, put him on the map as one of the electronic music scene’s most gifted artists and songwriters.
“This is one of my personal favorites off the album,” Medasin writes. “I think this can be a very cathartic & healing & transcendent piece of music if it finds you at the right moment in time. Please tell me what you feel and where your imagination takes you while listening.”
“Star Song” is both triumphant and tranquil, a visceral instrumental cut that envelops us in warm-and-fuzzy electronica. Before long, a spacey saxophone sequence from Hailey Niswanger takes hold and doesn’t let go until Medasin ties a bow on the arrangement with a jazzy coda.
