On December 5, 2020, an Instagram user by the handle of @greenice.rocks enthralled electronic enthusiasts on the platform with an IGTV video of a full orchestra performance of SLANDER and Dylan Matthew‘s now-classic “Love Is Gone.” After amassing thousands of views and attracting the attention of SLANDER’s Derek Andersen and Scott Land, the orchestral cover of the landmark 2019 love song has hit streaming platforms, offering an unprecedentedly poignant take on the Gud Vibrations release, which, to date, has only been available in the original and an acoustic format.
Just three seconds short of an eight-minute runtime, the orchestral rendition underscores the malleability of SLANDER and Matthew’s fateful meetup while expanding its emotive character.
