Alesso pairing his Swedish crossover with Zara Larsson with a self-reimagining appeared to be a matter of when, not if. It’s a welcome pattern that Alesso has constructed out through the years—most lately giving “After I’m Gone” the VIP remedy again in February—and he had debuted one for “Phrases” in Las Vegas simply days after its end-of-April arrival. And after formally introducing it to a wider viewers throughout each nights of his Brooklyn Mirage season-opening stint earlier this month—together with an additional pair of never-before-heard IDs—Alesso is following up his journey again to Las Vegas for EDC along with his a shock supply of his “Phrases” endeavor.
Standing a towering five-and-a-half-minute runtime, Alesso’s “Phrases” VIP may be his most elaborate self-remix out of the six he’s finished through the years. And most had even but to listen to the VIP’s PROGRESSO-like breakdown till his look at circuitGROUNDS, with Alesso giving his dance-pop hybrid a correct placement in his tracklists with a three-drop overhaul of thunderous tech-house.
