Blondie, Mac DeMarco and Tori Amos are among the many artists set to participate within the first ever Band Shirt Day subsequent month.

The brand new fundraising occasion will maintain its first version on September 16, bringing artists collectively to donate proceeds from their merchandise gross sales to charities of their selection.

Different artists participating embody King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, with charities chosen together with Youngsters of Ukraine, MusiCares and Deliberate Parenthood.

An announcement on the occasion’s web site reads: “Band Shirt Day is a worldwide fundraising initiative, the place artists come collectively for a single day to promote merchandise on their official gross sales channels and donate proceeds to charitable organisations of their selection.”
