Kathryn Joseph, Walt Disco and extra all up for 2022 SAY Award
The longlist for the Scottish Album Of The Yr (SAY) Award has been revealed for 2022 – see the 20 nominees under.

The annual award pays tribute to the very best in Scottish music, and this 12 months’s award will probably be handed out at a dwell ceremony at Stirling’s Albert Halls on October 20.
The longlist was whittled down from 369 eligible report submissions by 100 neutral music trade nominators. Robert Kilpatrick, Inventive Director of the Scottish Music Trade Affiliation, stated: “As Scotland’s nationwide music prize, The SAY Award exists to have fun the cultural influence and contribution of our nation’s recorded output. 2022’s Longlist presents a dynamic and numerous assortment of albums which spans a number of genres and showcases each established and rising expertise from throughout the nation.
“Regardless of the turbulence of latest instances, the enduring influence and resonance of the album format stays. As autos of each self-discovery and reference to others, their energy to floor, encourage and unite us is probably extra vital than ever.”
The longlist will probably be additional whittled down by a specifically chosen judging panel to create the shortlist of 10 albums for this 12 months’s SAY Award. The 2022 SAY Award winner will take away a £20,000 prize, with the 9 runners-up receiving £1,000. Alongside the principle award, the Sound of Younger Scotland Award and the Trendy Scottish Basic Award may also make a return this 12 months.
