deadmau5‘s mau5trap label has released its 11th edition of the We Are Friends compilation, featuring 26 unique tracks that highlight the best and brightest new voices on the imprint. The kaleidoscope of artistry succeeds in displaying the breadth of the mau5trap outfit as well as many of those from deadmau5’s 2022 US tour such as Kasablanca, LUPA, and Morgin Madison—not to mention STAR SEED, one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2022. The compilation highlights mau5trap staples as well as fresh, yet-to-be-discovered talent.
With two deadmau5 tracks, including “Antisec” featuring YTCracker—which deadmau5 first played out via his pandemic drive-in sets circa 2021—the mau5trap label continues refining its nuanced and sought-after vision of electronic dance music with this latest compilation. Many of the tracks on the release will be familiar to attendees of deadmau5’s sets in 2022, as he has always highlighted a host of artists from the mau5trap rolodex any chance he can.
