One lifeless, dozens injured after stage collapses at Spanish EDM competition

Catastrophic climate circumstances have put an early finish to the Medusa Pageant in Spain, after a collapsing stage – reportedly brought on by winds exceeding 80 kilometres per hour – precipitated one dying and at the least 40 accidents.
The dance music competition, which was being held in east coast province of Cullera, started on Wednesday (August 10) and was scheduled to run till Monday (August 15).
In an announcement shared to social media, organisers defined that “an surprising and violent gale devastated sure areas of the competition” round 4am this morning (August 13), main the location to be evacuated “to ensure the security of the attendees, employees and artists gathered”.

The Guardian studies that on account of the aforementioned gale, components of a stage collapsed and had been flung into the group, killing one attendee and leaving three with “critical trauma accidents”. Regional emergency companies confirmed that 14 extra had been handled for minor accidents, whereas a complete of 40 folks had been attended to altogether.

“We’re in a state of shock as a result of we had been 30 metres away [from the stage that collapsed],” one attendee, Jesus Carretero, instructed Spanish broadcaster TVE. “It might have been me, it might have been anybody.” In keeping with the nation’s meteorology bureau, AEMET, the Cullera area confronted “robust gusts of wind and a sudden rise in temperatures” within the early hours of Saturday morning.
Of their assertion (translated from Spanish), organisers of the Medusa Pageant shared “our deep and honest condolences to the household and pals affected by the deadly penalties that occurred”, expressing that they “are fully devastated and dismayed by what occurred”.
In closing, they wrote: “All our help and love for these affected in these tough and unhappy occasions. Our ideas are with them always, [and] the administration of Medusa Pageant are at your disposal everytime you want.”
