Alice Cooper says he’d love to front Foo Fighters “if they ever needed a really sick lead singer”

Alice Cooper says he wants to front Foo Fighters if his band ever broke up.

The rock legend has played on stage with Dave Grohl and co a number of times over the years, and shared his admiration for the way the band have covered his songs in the past.

Asked which band he most wants to front other than his own by Atlanta’s Rock 100.5 radio station (listen below), Cooper replied: I think probably the Foo Fighters. Only because they’re exactly… When they do my songs, they do it exactly like the band. I mean, it’s amazing. I’ve done a bunch of things with the Foo Fighters, and a lot of their influence was Alice Cooper.

“The guys in the band, they said they learned how to play listening to our early albums. So when I go up on stage with the Foo Fighters, they nail my songs — they do ’em exactly the way they should be done. So I’d probably be in that band, if they ever needed a really sick lead singer.”

Heaping more praise on the Foos, Cooper added: “First of all, they’ve got the two best drummers. People keep forgetting that Dave Grohl… The first time I saw Nirvana, I looked right past the first two guys, and I said, ‘Who’s this drummer?’ ‘Cause he was really good; he stuck out.

“And I said, ‘If that band ever breaks up, I’m going for that drummer.’ … I went up and did a couple of songs with [Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins’s] band also. And he is really something. Hawkins is the Energizer bunny.”

NME recently spoke to Alice Cooper about his new album ‘Detroit Stories’, shocking the establishment and why rock isn’t dead after all. Watch the full interview above.

“There’s a bunch of 18-year-old kids in there with guitars and drums and they’re learning hard rock,” he told NME. “It’s the same with the United States, there’s all these young bands that want to resurge that whole area of hard rock,” he said of the resurgence of rock’n’roll music.

Dion Timmer explores melodic bass realms with ‘Arcane’ EP

Dion Timmer has released a seven-track EP titled Arcane via Subsidia Records. Arcane is Timmer’s first formal EP release on Excision‘s newly minted label, following the Dutch-born producer’s frequent outputs on Rottun Records and recent 14-track debut album, Enter Achroma.

The EP features the previously released lead single, “All My Thoughts,” featuring one of Dancing Astronaut‘s 2021 Artists to Watch, Lucii, followed by six additional collaborative tracks with Excision, G-Rex, Teddy Killerz, Azuria Sky, Armanni Reign, and Monika Santucci. Speaking on the EP the Netherlands-based producer shared,

“‘Arcane’ is a fresh take on how I see my art, zooming out from the neon city into the more organic parts of my personal universe. The music remains similar to my older pieces, but a little more alive.”

Arcane is a gut-rushing mix of melodies, emotion, and vibrancy. The six-track EP journeys through Dion Timmer’s organic absorption of dubstep, drum ‘n’ bass, and mid-tempo furnished with a simplistic approach to progressive influences. The 22-year-old producer is set to go full-force with a new dimension of sounds as he previews what’s to come with an accompanying 54-minute Arcane Mix filled with unreleased IDs and exclusives.

Bobby Brown Jr’s cause of death has been confirmed

The son of R&B singer Bobby Brown died after consuming a deadly cocktail of drugs and alcohol, coroners have ruled.

Bobby Brown Jr was found at his home in Los Angeles last November, after an apparent struggle with symptoms thought to be similar to flu.

While authorities initially deferred their ruling, coroners at the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office have now confirmed that the 28-year-old had traces of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl in his system at the time of his death.

TMZ reports that Bobby Jr was seen downing tequila and taking drugs such as cocaine and half a pill of the opioid Percocet before his death.

In a statement released to TMZ at the time of Brown Jr’s death, his father asked fans to “keep my family in your prayers at this time” in the wake of his son’s death.

He wrote: “Losing my son at this point in our lives has devastated my family. There are no words to explain the pain.”

Brown Jr’s death came eight years after his stepmother Whitney Houston accidentally drowned in a bath. Houston’s daughter and his half sister, 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina, died in 2015 in similar circumstances to her mother.

Bobby Brown Jr had also followed in his father’s footsteps as a singer, releasing one of his final tracks, ‘Say Something’, in September.

Bobby Brown Snr, best known is known for hits such as ‘My Prerogative’, ‘Every Little Step’ and ‘Rock Wit’cha’, has five children who are still alive.

ZHU Announces New Music Friday, Teases Release Date Of Third Album

It’s been over a year since ZHU formally announced his new, third album. It was supposed to come out in 2020 but we know how that all went. Thankfully, we now have a major clue as to the release date of his LP3.

Before that, ZHU explicitly announced that he has new music coming out this Friday, “Sky Is Crying” with YUNA. In a typical year, we might have already heard this at festivals and sets around the world, but as it stands, fans will have to wait until Friday to hear what this sounds like.

As for the album, a reddit user noticed that LP3 is now an item in his merch store. The price is a bizarre $430.21 — until you make the connection that that’s probably a date, April 30, 2021. The unnamed LP says “coming soon” if you try to purchase it, just reinforcing the theory that this is the release date for his next major body of work.

So zhu just announced his next album ? 4.30.21 from EDM

The gold glint of Claptone’s mask yields ‘Zero’ – Dancing Astronaut The gold glint of Claptone’s mask yields ‘Zero’

Though the COVID-19 health crisis has rendered Claptone unable to don his luminous gilded mask behind Balearic decks, the fantast’s catalog retains its capacity to set the Ibiza circuit—among others—ablaze. For some time, the latest example was his March 2020 reconfiguration of Mylo’s 2005 favorite, “Drop The Pressure.” It’s time for a fresh re-assertion—and it’s called “Zero.”

The high-spirited house original, built around Claptone’s characteristic crescendos and penchant for piano backbones, is an entrancing extension of the masked creator’s prowess in modern house circles. Harnessing a timelessness in its appeal, “Zero” can count on continuous recommendation for preferential treatment on dance floors long after clubs reopen to admit the stompers who’d move to this beat. Rick Rubin teases “crazy and unexpected” Brockhampton project in new video

Brockhampton have shared another cryptic teaser for their forthcoming ‘Roadrunner’ project, this time featuring legendary producer Rick Rubin.

  • READ MORE: The Big Read – Brockhampton

In the brief clip, Rubin appears to be praising the project’s opening tracks. “The first three, though, you can’t change. The first three is unstoppable,” Rubin says in the video.

“It’s out of the box, crazy and unexpected… I was not expecting the way it started, and I think that’s really strong.”

Watch the clip below:

It’s not the first time Brockhampton and Rubin have come together. Last year, bandleader Kevin Abstract sat down with Rubin for an extensive video interview for GQ.

The new video arrives less than a week after the collective shared a video featuring RZA that sees the Wu-Tang leader hail Brockhampton as “magic” and praise their approach to music.

“This particular album, the melding of it now, it’s like if someone thought it wasn’t cool, n***a it’s cool now!,” RZA exclaims in the clip.

Earlier this month, the band signalled new music was on the way when they shared a 46-second teaser clip titled ‘Meet the Roadrunners’ which appeared to feature part of a new track. Abstract later confirmed via his Instagram Story that the teaser marks the start of Brockhampton’s new era.

The group’s last album was 2019’s ‘Ginger’, which followed their earlier ‘Saturation’ series. Last year, they released a mixtape called ‘Technical Difficulties’ which was made up of eight tracks they made in lockdown.

Last year, Romil Hemnani of the group said Brockhampton were working on an album with the initials RR.

Speaking to i-D, he said: “We’re always working on an album. I can’t say much about it, but I can say that the initials of it are RR. Maybe the fans will figure out what it is. I’m excited about it, it’s my favourite one yet.”

Above & Beyond’s Seminal Hit “Sun & Moon” Turns 10 Years Old

Ten years ago, the majority of EDM fans now weren’t even thinking about the culture, the music, or where they’d be right now. Ten years ago, it was hardly even referred to as EDM, for the most part. And yet, legendary group Above & Beyond had just released their major hit, “Sun & Moon” — little did they know that track would wildly change their future, as well.

“Sun & Moon” is one of those tracks, like Daft Punk’s “One More Time” or Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction” that even if you’re not as familiar with the artist, you at least know that one song. It’s an absolute classic, and one that has stood the test of time for the past decade.

The song was released on the equally legendary Above & Beyond album Group Therapy in 2011, which spawned a series of shows, events, and activations years later.

Celebrate this incredible milestone by listening to it once again and see what A&B had to say about it below!
