Courtney Love says she “almost died” while suffering from severe anaemia

Courtney Love has opened up on her battle with anaemia, revealing that she almost died after the condition led to her hospitalisation.

Love was diagnosed with the condition, which causes sufferers to experience red blood cell deficiency, last August.

Opening up on the “debilitating acute pain” she experienced, Love wrote on Instagram: “People, I’ve been sad, and extremely sick. Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anaemia.

“I was stigmatised for being an addict for 9 months by many ill-equipped drs, backwards drs and quacks. While in debilitating acute pain. Then I met the most empathic wise pain management dr. I’m so grateful!”

Love then went on to to claim that CBD oil, which contains cannabinoids, has helped her to control the pain.

“I used to scoff at cannabis / THC . And I also am no fan of the narcotic effect , hate weed feeling,” she said.

“This isn’t that . It’s woman and nature supporting us . It’s magic . But gods own CBD is a miracle.”

Explaining that CBD oil “removed ALMOST ALL the physical symptoms”, Love added: “Bear with me as I start to try and have a blast and help others every pain free day !!! I’ve been basically bedridden.

“”I thought I was broken for sure this time . But I’m ok ! So I’m just waking and I’m frail. I’ll be strong again soon ! Not as always because this is the period to be mellow and not waste energy on anger, etc.”

“A new sort of strong with wisdom and more empathy than I had for people with physical illness.”

The singer added a number of hashtags to post including #crohnsdisease, but is yet to reveal if she has has also suffered from the inflammatory bowel disease.

Meanwhile, Love claimed last month that “a bunch of #MeToo” incidents led to her putting her acting career on hold.

ZHU’s new album is finished – Dancing Astronaut ZHU’s new album is finished

Just two days into 2021, ZHU sent out a smoke signal on socials—he was working on a new album. Now, just a little over two months after this initial tip, ZHU’s anonymous project is complete.

Distinguished on Dancing Astronaut‘s roster of 17 of the most-anticipated albums of 2021, the successor to 2018’s Ringo’s Desert remains elusive; nothing more about the long-form is presently known, other than its status—”finished.” Though more details about the LP will assuredly soon spill forth in the acutely stylized fashion that’s long been part of ZHU’s marketing signature, listeners can expect a polished junior product from a producer whose capacity to fascinate seems never to falter.

As his fanbase awaits ZHU’s next candidate for heavy rotation, they can turn their attention to the Generationwhy album maker’s climactic back-to-back set alongside NGHTMRE at Digital Mirage Friendsgiving, a fond fixture of the recent rearview. That ZHU has all but cleared his Instagram page, presumably making room for album-related content, suggests that further context just might come sooner than expected.

Drake becomes first artist ever to have three songs debut in Top 3 on Billboard

Drake has become the first artist ever to have three songs debut in the Top 3 positions on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Taken from his recent ‘Scary Hours 2’ EP, the Canadian rapper’s new single ‘What’s Next’ has gone straight in at Number One on Billboard.

Not only that, the project’s two other tracks, ‘Wants And Needs’ featuring Lil Baby and ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ with Rick Ross, have entered at Number Two and Number Three respectively, making him the first artist in history to achieve the feat, according to Chart Data.

In addition to this, he’s also joined The Beatles and Ariana Grande as the only acts in history to take up the top three positions of the Hot 100 simultaneously in the same week.

‘What’s Next’ is Drake’s 8th Number One on the Hot 100, extending his run as the rapper with the most Number Ones on the chart.

In a three-star review of ‘Scary Hours 2’, NME‘s Luke Morgan Britton said: “Drake sounds less like an artist with something to prove and more like a title defender who might finally be willing to challenge himself again.

“He’s described the release as simply a ‘warm up ting’ to his ‘next masterpiece’, and it certainly does enough to build hype for the main event.”

Earlier this month, Drake provided fans with another update on ‘Certified Lover Boy’, his anticipated sixth studio album.

The latest record from the Canadian rapper was set for a January 2021 release date, but was postponed after Drake injured his knee.

Speaking on OVO Sound Radio, Drake confirmed that the album was “currently being chef’d in every way possible” and explained that he has been working with regular collaborators Noel Cadastre and Noah “40” Shebib.

Meanwhile, former NFL player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson has claimed that Drake and Rick Ross are currently working on a joint album.

No Pants Party Drop Another Sizzling Single, “Here We Go” [Force Of Habit]

They’re back! Already lighting a fire under multiple Beatport 2021 Hype Charts, LA duo No Pants Party come out swinging for spring with huge new tech-house banger “Here We Go”, signed on Black Hole Recording sub-label Force Of Habit.

No Pants Party have a talent for weaving bass and synth melodies seamlessly that can’t help but hype you up. “Here We Go” is another exceptional track, featuring tightly wound snare percussion, vocal samples, and a big bass line to make this a real heater. Dripping with intent and produced with dark, dirty dancefloors in mind, it’s yet another effortlessly confident and unapologetically ferocious track from the act.

The two things we spent a LOT of time with at beginning of creating this track were searching for the perfect knocking kick and crafting a big, rolling bassline,” said Jamie Hanrahan, “so when we found these vocal samples talking about “the kick and the bass” they felt like the perfect match, plus we loved the throwback vibe of them!

Check out “Here We Go” by No Pants Party below!

Eddie Van Halen’s son explains lack of Grammys tribute performance for his late father

Wolf Van Halen has revealed that he passed on the opportunity to perform a tribute to his late father, Eddie, at this year’s Grammys.

While the awards ceremony featured performances honouring the late John Prine, Little Richard, Kenny Rogers and Gerry Marsden, pundits were left scratching their heads when Eddie Van Halen was not given the same kind of tribute.

Wolf Van Halen has taken to social media to clarify, saying that the Recording Academy did approach him to perform Van Halen’s ‘Eruption’.

“I declined. I don’t think anyone could have lived up to what my father did for music but himself,” Van Halen explained in an extended Twitter post.

Van Halen said in declining, he presumed that another tribute would be organised. Instead, the Grammys included a short clip of Eddie Van Halen in its “In Memoriam” section and only briefly displayed his guitar on stage.

“I didn’t realise that they would only show Pop for 15 seconds in the middle of 4 full performances for others we had lost,” he said.

“What hurt the most was that he wasn’t even mentioned when they talked about artists we lost in the beginning of the show.

“I know Pop would probably just laugh it off and say ‘Ehh who gives a shit?’ He was only about the music anyway. The rest didn’t matter”.

Wolf Van Halen said he hoped he would have “the opportunity to speak with The Recording Academy not only about the legacy of my father, but the legacy of the rock genre moving forward”. Read his full post below.

Eddie Van Halen passed away from cancer in October at age 65. Following his father’s death, Wolf Van Halen criticised the auction of three guitars once owned by Eddie. The guitars sold for over £313,000 less than two months after Van Halen’s death, with Wolf calling the timing of the auction a “little fishy”.

“They’re just taking advantage of my father’s passing. What a surprise. Fuck ’em,” he said in December.

Last year, Wolf Van Halen released his debut solo single, ‘Distance’, as a tribute to his father. He followed it up with second track, ‘You’re To Blame’, in February.
