Sarah Harding says Christmas was “probably my last” as cancer spreads further

Sarah Harding was told by doctors that Christmas 2020 “would probably be my last” as she continued to receive treatment for cancer.

The Girls Aloud star was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and shared the news with fans in August, at which point the disease had spread to other parts of her body.

Harding has been working on a book, titled Hear Me Out, and she shared her prognosis in an extract published by The Times.

In a foreword interview, the 39-year-old singer said she had had a mastectomy and chemotherapy and was being looked after by her mother. “Nothing is certain any more,” she said. “I’m just grateful to wake up every day and live my best life because now I know just how precious it is.”

In the excerpt, Harding explained that “for a while, it seemed like the chemo was working”, but that a later MRI scan had revealed another tumour – “either at the base of my spine or on my brain”. A second MRI revealed another tumour too.

She wrote that last December, a doctor had told her that “the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last”. “I don’t want an exact prognosis,” she said. “I don’t know why anyone would want that. Comfort and being as pain-free as possible is what’s important to me now.”

Harding previously shared an update on her cancer diagnosis in early December. “I can’t deny that things are tough right now but I’m fighting as hard as I possibly can and being as brave as I know how,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.

The star joined Girls Aloud during their initial creation on the reality show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and continued to perform with them until they broke up in 2013.

Showtek featuring Sevenn – Pum Pum – Dancing Astronaut

For over a decade the Showtek boys have never slowed down. They’ve taken some turns and dabbled in genres, but the festival anthem maestros always call back to the sound that launched their stardom. They’re back again with another over-the-top production, this time with the help of American producer Sevenn. “Pum Pum” is a party house bomb that is appropriate for only the most extreme situations. Opening with a big bouncy bass line, Dutch half add scale to the equation while Sevenn add the flair. The duo’s knack for ridiculous builds and equally obscene drops is put on full display on “Pum Pum.” The whole mess amps up into a breakdown that’s only fit for a festival stage and makes us nostalgic to stomp around Tomorrowland. But until then, there’s really not much more to say—throw it on and let it rip.

Tom Odell announces fourth album and shares new song ‘Monster V.1’

Tom Odell has announced the release of his fourth album and has shared new single ‘Monster V.1’ – listen to it below.

‘Monsters’, the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Jubilee Road’, is set to arrive on June 25 via Columbia Records and will feature the previously released ‘Numb’.

Odell accompanied the announcement with a new song called ‘Monster V.1’. The track – which is the first of two versions – was penned while Odell was recovering from his own mental health issues.

“In 2019, my anxiety got so bad that I had to stop making music for a while,” Odell said of the song. “There was a period when it felt like I couldn’t leave the house without having a panic attack. I wrote this song, monster, about trying to overcome my struggles with those mental health problems.

He continued: “It makes me super sad to listen at moments because it brings back some tough times, but I am super proud of it and hope it resonates with people who are dealing with similar struggles. This first version is the song in its purest form, which I wanted you all to hear first, as the lyrics mean so much to me.”

Listen to ‘Monster V.1’ below:

Odell will perform a sold-out livestream show on April 10, during which he’ll perform music from the upcoming record.

A description of the show says it will be “a special interactive evening where he will answer fan’s questions and perform an intimate show. All proceeds from the show will be donated to Tom’s amazing band and crew whose lives have been turned upside down by the pandemic.”

The most pressing matter on his mind was picking out a suit. “I’m living it up right now,” he told EDM.com last January.

Carnage & Gordo – KTM – Dancing Astronaut

Carnage is Gordo. Gordo is Carnage. The legendary house producer is taking the house world by storm with his all new alias GORDO. Debuting on Ultra Records, the new project’s first single “KTM” spent three years circulating the scene in sets from Sebastian Ingrosso, FISHER, Diplo, and Joseph Capriati before finally finding a name and a home. “KTM” is exactly what you’d expect from Carnage making house — a menacing & gritty g-house track and an ode to the heart-racing bass lines — and amphetamines — of gritty warehouse raves and after hours haunts. Carnage is coming for house music, and he’s coming in swinging.
