FERRECK DAWN X GUZ X L.I.T deliver fierce new tech-house anthem ‘CAUGHT IN THE RAIN’

Dutch DJ/producer Ferreck Dawn has teamed up with Dutch house head Guz and producer L.I.T for a tasty piece of tech-house. Presenting their collab single ‘Caught In The Rain’ on a wave of mesmerizing vocal lines, this is one of those tunes that will make it to any DJ’s playlist, creating vibes of a true peak-time weapon.

Making his way as one of Holland’s finest artists in the deeper genres of house music, Ferreck Dawn has certainly developed a trademark sound for himself. For the last years, the Amsterdam based DJ/producer released a series of powerful records on labels like Defected, Toolroom, Spinnin’ Deep, and Armada, exploring the music with funky grooves and inventive collabs, including team-ups with A-Trak (with whom he dropped the popular gem ‘Coming Home’ last year), Robosonic, Kid Enigma and Lee Foss.

Following a 2018 collab with UK artist Guz (most renowned for his huge club hit ‘Dancin’ Kinda Close), Ferreck Dawn joined forces with him again this time, delivering ‘Caught In The Rain’ together with German producer L.I.T. It’s led to highly effective production, delivering the energy of a dancefloor bomb with the warmth of vocal house music.

‘Caught In The Rain’ shares an instant appeal with its repeating vocal lines, setting an easy vibe while cutting tech-house rhythms take things over. It’s a moody affair, especially when the melodics and vocal lines share the stage in the breakdown. The result is hot-blooded dance music, thanks to inventive production and arranging, keeping the energy going as the tech-house groove plays catch with the lead vocal sample.

Watch Ray BLK and Giggs team up in video for new track ‘Games’

Ray BLK has dropped a new track called ‘Games’ featuring Giggs – watch the song’s video below.

Taken from Ray BLK’s forthcoming debut album, due in the summer via Island Records, it hears the R&B singer-songwriter highlight the complexities that romantic relationships can bring.

You do things I don’t like/ Let’s talk about you and I/ I’m way too drunk too high/ To think about the consequences/ I don’t mind just tell me what it is/ You say you’ll text me back/ Why you send mixed messages?” she sings.

The Nana Rogues-produced track, which follows October’s ‘Lovesick’, comes paired with a video directed by Nathan James Tettey.

Speaking about the video, Ray BLK said: “Nathan and I wanted to highlight that as we transcend through time, the essence of relationships still stay the same, whilst also creating a nostalgic and stylistic music video.”

Watch the video below.

Last week, Giggs shared a ferocious new ‘Daily Duppy’ freestyle.

It arrived a little over a week after the London rapper teamed up with Ghetts for a special performance of their recent single ‘Crud’. He also recently teamed up with D12’s Bizarre on the track ‘BADMAN’.

Last year Giggs followed up his 2019 ‘Big Bad’ album with his surprise mixtape ‘Now Or Never’, which featured collaborations with Jorja Smith, Dave, Emeli Sandé, Obongjayar and others.

Meanwhile, Ray BLK has said last year’s controversy surrounding Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘WAP’ serves as an example of Black female artists being “held to a different standard” within the music industry.

The explicit joint single was released back in August, and while many praised it for empowering women its message was also criticised by various right-wing commentators, including Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens.

So Dope is back to take the ‘Crown’ – Dancing Astronaut So Dope is back to take the ‘Crown’

On his first production of 2021, So Dope is dead set on defending the throne—and the “Crown.”

After a statement-making opening to the new decade that saw So Dope drop off four originals, “Concrete,” “Soundbwoy,” “Ride or Die,” and “Waiting 4 U,” the New Yorker is kickstarting another year of music with “Crown.” As longer-term So Dope listeners will note, “Crown” channels the reggae influence that colored May 2020’s “Soundbwoy,” and similarly does so with a dubstep twist. Fans of So Dope’s former release can consider “Crown” a complementary companion cut meanwhile those who enjoy “Crown” but have not been exposed to “Soundbwoy” now know where to head next.

On “Crown,” distributed via JustUs Recs., So Dope breaks out his black belt in crowd incitement. Though the mosh pit-inducing power of the dynamo’s most recent material has yet to be realized, it’s not a characteristic that comes with an expiration date, meaning that its first moment of live play out will be a memorable one, to say the least. Slipknot’s Corey Taylor set to head out on US “social-distanced” solo tour

Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor has announced that he’s planning a “social-distanced” solo tour.

Speaking in a new interview, the frontman, who released his debut solo album ‘CMFT’ last October, revealed plans to hit the road in the US for three weeks around April and May.

“[It will be a] short tour – probably about three weeks,” he told Arizona radio station 98 KUPD. “Some of the places we’ll be doing two nights in one city. It’ll be completely social-distanced, which means there’ll be pods with space around it, and the only people allowed in the pod are the people who came with that group.”

He continued: “[There will be] temp checks at the door, and you have to have proof of a negative test within 48 hours [of the show], or you won’t be let in at all.”

Taylor went on to explain that he’s been looking for ways to get back out on the road in order to help his crew.

“So, I’m looking at ways to kind of get the cobs going — not only for myself but for people I care about,” he said. “My crew needs work; my wife [Alicia Taylor, a professional dancer and a member of the all-girl dance group Cherry Bombs], her dancers, they wanna get back out there. So this is the test to see if we can start to kind of inch back towards reality with these in place — at least until the vaccine has had a chance to kind of do its thing.”

Taylor expects his tour will kick off in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. “The bulk of [the dates are] in the Midwest and then kind of working our way back to Vegas,” he said. “It’ll be April-May. And we’re actually hammering the details out right now.”

Meanwhile, Taylor has teased some “massive” Slipknot news that he says will “probably” be revealed within the next month.

The band are currently looking to the future, with tour dates planned for this summer and talk of a follow-up to their 2019 album ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ possibly being readied for a release later this year.

Your EDM Premiere: Besomorph ft. Karra – Playing With My Heart

Premiering from us today as another unmissable production from Besomorph is ‘Playing With My Heart.’ This artist moves at quick speed, having just remixed Tujamo and VIZE’s ‘Lonely.’

We’re used to impressive sound design from the German DJ and producer, and he brings the goods once again. With vocals from Karra, Besomorph cuts through the darting bassline with clean progressions and a soulful, almost haunting edge. He says:  “We all have been through this. We fall for someone who disrespects us and treats us badly, but we are too weak to put an end to it. We are too addicted to the short pleasure: a toxic chase.”

Ten City announce first album in 25 years with 2021 rework of ‘Devotion’ – Dancing Astronaut Ten City announce first album in 25 years with 2021 rework of ‘Devotion’

Ten City‘s first album in 25 years is on the way.

The Chicago R&B and house vocal group comprising Byron Stingily and Marshall Jefferson announced their forthcoming LP Judgement with Jefferson’s rework of their 1987 classic, “Devotion.” Of the 2021 update of “Devotion,” Jefferson said,

“The lyrics are about two women that myself and Byron went on a double date with. They seemed to have been in bad relationships before. Byron started singing and we came up with the idea that if previous men had treated them better, they wouldn’t be so bitter. I took Byron’s original and positive vocal ideas, ‘I want to give you Devotion,’ and came up with the music the same night because it was a great vibe.”

The hit single, an extended version of which was included on their 1989 debut album, Foundation, receives a lush rework from Jefferson that stays true to the group’s soul, disco, and Chicago house roots. Jefferson’s conversion of “Devotion” will soon be packaged on a remix EP (due March 19) that will also include an underground remake from Glasgow-based duo Illyus & Barrientos. In the meantime, Ten City and their fans alike will also be anticipating the release of their fifth studio album, Judgement, which is slated to arrive this summer via Ultra Music.

YVNG JALAPENO Drops Some Serious Attitude in New Single ‘Lose Myself’

YVNG JALAPENO’s drops a stunning opening track to his new EP with label Bite This!, ‘Losing Myself’. This track is a balance of two parallels with a calming and emotional vocals contrasted to an energy-packed rollercoaster drop with a shocking range of technical production and flexing of sound design mastery.

The Australian-based musician had his first bursts of success come out of his ‘bedroom producer’ phase, a couple years back, after being noticed by a handful of DJs and industry figures. Today, being booked for performances, asked to edit/remix tracks by internationally touring DJs, and the like, has become the norm for the solo DJ/producer.

We are excited to continue to bring you updates on this promising talent and make sure this one tune does not straight rip your bass in half. Enjoy!
