Conway The Machine has hinted that a collaboration with Eminem and The Alchemist is on the way.
The US rapper said he was “just here for the comments” when he was asked why he had re-tweeted the rumour from his own account. No official confirmation of a collaboration has been given.
The tweet in question reads: “POSSIBLE PROJECT IN COLLABORATION BETWEEN EMINEM, CONWAY AND ALCHEMIST CAN BE ON THE WAY, NOTHING CONFIRMED UNTIL THE MOMENT!!!”
Conway is signed to Eminem’s label Shady Records and released his debut solo album ‘From King To A GOD’ in 2020.
The 14-track project arrived last September and features guest appearances and production from Freddie Gibbs, Method Man, DJ Premier, Mobb Deep‘s Havoc, Lloyd Banks, Dej Loaf, Alchemist, Daringer, Erick Sermon, Hit-Boy as well as fellow Griselda collective rappers Westside Gunn and Benny The Butcher.
His second solo album ‘God Don’t Make Mistakes’ is slated for a release this year, however no date has been set.
Meanwhile, in Eminem news, the rapper recently celebrated ‘Lose Yourself’ hitting one billion streams on Spotify.
Eminem’s 2002 track was the lead single from the soundtrack to his semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile, which was also released in 2002.
‘Lose Yourself’, which gave Eminem his first US number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2003, has now earned a significant streaming record to add to its already weighty list of accolades.
With the landmark $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package now in the hands of the Senate, financial aid for struggling families and businesses is almost within reach. In fact, the embedded Save Our Stages Act earmarks $15 billion in grants to music and arts venues.
But for New York City’s nightlife, this eleventh hour support may have missed the boat. Small restaurants and bars have been hit especially hard by the pandemic, and New York Post now reports even the city’s top club owners have also been drastically affected by both closures and brand pivots.
Butter Group, which owns the iconic 1Oak brand, recently shuttered its Up & Down venture in West Village. The Tao Group, which owns properties worldwide, has also permanently closed two of its five New York locations: Vandal on the Bowery and Avenue. Two additional locations are staying open with the help of their attached restaurants.
“Nightlife is what makes the city so special,” Noah Tepperberg, co-founder of The Tao Group, told the New York Post. “Without it, we will lose the city that never sleeps.”
Meanwhile, Noir in Chelsea has taken on a unique approach, developing out a menu and hiring an executive chef. Following a citywide pause on indoor dining, it reopened its kitchen on February 13th with tables sparsely arranged throughout its 5,600 square feet.
According to the Post, diners can now order from Noir’s raw bar and sushi menu with an option for a “bottle parade”: masked servers delivering champagne directly into their mouths. And, just last week, the club welcomed local DJ JADALAREIGN for an in-person “Blanc Brunch” live set.
“We had to reinvent ourselves,” owner PhilZelonky told the Post. “We are a place for people to let loose. People are still popping bottles, but at their tables. People enjoy the food and music and bottle service and have their own little party in a safe way at their table.”
Super8 & Tab have long reigned as powerhouses of the trance epoch, wielding synonymity with esteemed labels like Anjunabeats and Armada Music. Inevitably, the launch of their Black Hole Recordings-partnered imprint Scorchin’ Records and its subsequent offshoot Scorchin’ Progressive, have held up as a salient progression for the Finnish duo, already carving out a distinctive spot in the hybrid trance space despite its young existence.
Like their peers, Super8 & Tab’s weapon of choice for highlighting both their label and its roster arrive in the easily consumable form of a compilation mix. Championing the spirit of emerging electronic talent through artists like Zack Evans, Emerge, HamzeH, and more, the “Helsinki Scorchin’” originators prelude the evolution of a long-beloved genre in their debut of Scorchin’ Sessions Vol. 1. The 17-track curation merges representation from both the main banner and its progressive counterpart into a voyage across euphoria.
Spanning multidimensional interpretations of trance, the first-ever Scorchin’ Sessions offers up a rounded profile—from the uplifting, vocal-centric, and anthemic to the tech-laced, house-influenced, and other nuanced faces. More than ever, the old definitions dissipate to accommodate a boundless ideology untethered to bpm or structure, but fundamentally tied to feeling. Whether nostalgic or modern, the compilation exudes trance energy through and through, and even in all its variance, still resemble the same ethos as years past.
The debut installment calls upon three standout tracks to make its case: Nick Haye’s “Signal,” Francesco Sambero and Katrine Stenekk’s “Someone Needs A Hero,” and Zack Evans’ “Skyborne.” Of the selection, Tab of Super8 & Tab states to Dancing Astronaut,
“The Progressive side of Scorchin’ Records. Nick Hayes’s debut single ‘Signal’ is making massive waves and getting support from Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, and Ferry Corsten to name a few. Prime example how trance and progressive can be blend together perfectly. Epic!”
“Francesco Sambero returns to Scorchin’ Progressive with the fantastic vocals of Katrine Stenbekk. ‘Someone Needs A Hero’ compliments Katrine’s voices with a blend of warm bass lines and grooving percussions that will have you raising your hands and letting loose on the dance floor (once we get there again!). This will stay in our playlist for a long time!”
“Zack’s ‘Skyborne’ is another massive release on Scorchin’ Records! His previous release, ’30 Nights’ is one of the most played records and we are expecting ‘Skyborne’ do the same. This record will capture your ears with an ephemeral melody that grows into chorus saws complimented with tantalizing vocal choirs. Yet another masterpiece!”
The Donington Park event was scheduled to take place from June 4-6 this year but the dates ultimately land a fortnight before large-scale outdoors events are provisionally allowed once more, according to England’s planned roadmap out of coronavirus lockdown.
Now, it’s been confirmed that Download will return from June 10-12 2022, with KISS and Biffy Clyro both returning for headline sets after they were originally set to play this year. However, System Of A Down will no longer play and have been replaced by Iron Maiden.
Tickets for the 2022 event go on sale here from 10am this Friday, March 5.
Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson said: “Like everyone, we were all hugely disappointed when the global pandemic forced the cancellation of Download 2020 which would have been Maiden’s seventh time headlining here.
“So we are delighted to be invited back and fulfil our ambition of playing Donington Park in every decade since the 1980’s!
“As most people know, this Festival is hallowed ground for us (and Eddie!) and our fans’ vocal support and enthusiasm is always phenomenal and much appreciated. We can’t wait to see everyone again, and are determined to make the show one hell of a party and the greatest homecoming ever!”
Download boss Andy Copping said: “Downloaders, your 2022 headliners are here! Rock ‘n’ roll legends KISS will be kicking off Friday in style, Iron Maiden will return bringing with them mascot Eddie and more fire than we can handle, and what better way to end the festival than with Biffy who will leave us awestruck with their energy. I’m counting down the days already!”
The announcement comes after the government outlined plans for England to gradually exit lockdown by the end of June.
In the wake of the announcement, events such as Reading & Leeds Festival, Parklife Festival and Green Man Festival have all announced plans to go ahead.
Live Nation has sold 170,000 tickets in the wake of the announcement, with Reading selling out entirely for 2021.
It’s been over a year since the master bass music producer Wooli dropped a track on Seven Lions‘ Ophelia Records, but that streak ends now. Enter “The Core,” an absolute behemoth of a track that combines hardstyle stylings with riddim, dubstep, and psytrance. Ophelia has been on a roll with releasing heavier tracks on the label, which has traditionally leaned more melodic.
Those who were lucky enough to attend Wooli’s headline performance at Insomniac‘s Park ‘N Rave will recognize the single. The track is filled to the brim with massive hardstyle kicks that will induce major neck pain if you aren’t careful. The arpeggiating synths create an interesting listening experience in between the chaos of the production. Wooli has hit it out of the park with this one.
Wooli has been pushing the boundaries of sound design since bursting onto the scene back in 2018. His music has received support from some of the biggest heavyweights in the game, including Excision, Seven Lions, KAYZO, Slander, SNAILS, and more. 2021 is looking to be one of his biggest years yet so stay tuned in.
You can stream “The Core” across all platforms here.
Independent festivals across the UK have warned that they could be forced to cancel their 2021 events if they fail to receive Government-backed insurance and VAT intervention by the end of March.
Ahead of the Spring Budget this Wednesday (March 3), the Association of Independent Festivals warns that festival organisers face a “final countdown” as they prepare to decide whether to assign significant costs if they are to hold events this year.

But in order to do so, they say that the festival sector still needs Covid-19 cancellation insurance, in the event that the road-map out of lockdown is delayed and prevents them from taking place.
According to the AIF, a staggering 92.5 percent of its members say that they cannot stage events without insurance – which is described as “vital, not optional”.
Research from the AIF claims that a festival taking place in early July faces the prospect of dishing out 40% of total costs by June 14 – the date when Government will make a final decision on Step 4 of the roadmap.
20 percent of the costs will already be paid in April – including essential infrastructure such as licensing, policing and medical provisions.

But, the AIF says, a Government-backed insurance scheme will allow planning to accelerate from the moment it is announced.
AIF CEO Paul Reed said: “The Prime Minister has set out a roadmap and a ‘no earlier than’ date for festivals, and audiences have responded, demonstrating a huge appetite to be back in the fields this summer. But we need Government interventions on insurance and VAT before the end of this month when festivals will need to decide whether they can commit to serious amounts of upfront capital.
“Now that we have a ‘no earlier than’ date, insurance is the last remaining barrier to planning. We know that Government is aware of the insurance issue and AIF has provided evidence and data to support the case.
“Having injected huge consumer confidence, Government should intervene at this stage and ensure that our culture-defining independent festivals can mobilise and plan for this summer. With the cut-off point for many organisers at the end of the month, this really is the final countdown for many businesses.”
Elsewhere, the AIF is calling on the Government to extend the reduced VAT rate for three years, after it was slashed to 5 percent last year to support the long-term recovery of the sector.
It comes after the government outlined plans for England to gradually exit lockdown by the end of June.
In the wake of the announcement, events such as Reading & Leeds Festival, Parklife Festival and Green Man Festival have all announced plans to go ahead.
Live Nation has sold 170,000 tickets in the wake of the announcement, with Reading selling out entirely for 2021.
