First Look: ANTDUAN teases visual for trance deep house feeler ‘Rain Drops’ featuring Alexandra Badoi – Dancing Astronaut

After initially releasing the “Rain Drops” instrumental in June of 2020, on March 12, Israeli producer ANTDUAN will debut a vocal version of the single featuring Romanian vocalist Alexandra Badoi, along with an accompanying visual. The upcoming single can be pre-saved here.

ANTDUAN told Dancing Astronaut of the release,

“I used to love those tunes from the early 2000’s trance scene and I feel that my song is in the same vibe as those old songs, but with modern instruments. For me, having emotions and soul in my music is the most important thing and I am always trying to add them. I produced the instrumental version of ‘Rain Drops’ in the first lockdown time and it was one of my first tracks that had a really good reaction. Afterward, I was looking for a vocalist similar to the songs of Tiësto and Paul Oakenfold from early 2000, and I found Alexandra. She had the perfect voice and it comes out exactly the way that I imagined it would.”

Badoi is best known for her feature on Armin van Buuren‘s “Cosmos,” released under his Rising Star alias. Through a mist of trance plucks and brooding ambiance, Badoi’s voice creates a serene harmony that leads into a field of brooding brass, trance melodies, and deep house allure.

Get a preview of the “Rain Drops” visual below, ahead of its March 12 due date.

Benedict partners with Lee Groves for Tetraphobic remix of ‘Warzone’

Starting 2021 with intent, Benedict has teamed up with Lee Groves to offer up a powerful remix of her breathtaking single ‘Warzone’. The Melbourne hailing artists’ release comes at a poignant time, with the whole world plunged into difficulty due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is something that Benedict elaborated on below. With Lee Groves’ (Madonna, Goldfrapp, Black Eyed Pees) spin on the release, it’s notable that Benedict has some large industry backing, and we cannot wait to see what she will be dropping next. Described by Lee as a big, fat, dark, dirty, epic journey”, we think this remix is one to be dialed up to 11.

“The last year has been a warzone for many with COVID-19, massive world political issues, relationships and many other things. ‘Warzone’ is about all these challenges. All different experiences we have with people, life, religion, politics and many other things. I felt this was captured in the captivating remix that Lee created. It has been one of the most exciting parts of last year connecting, through the amazing Dean Tuza and having the privilege of working with the brilliant Mr Lee Groves. Honoured that he said yes to doing my remix and now mixing my upcoming single as well! The remix is a true piece of art. It weaves in and out creating a web of colour and movement. It takes me on a journey to another world. Light and dark experiences leaving you wanting more. So many layers I feel very blessed to be working with such a genius.”

Lady Gaga calls dogwalker a “hero” as she breaks silence on dog theft

Lady Gaga has called her dogwalker a “hero” as she breaks her silence on his shooting and the theft of two of her dogs.

The star is currently in Italy filming Ridley Scott’s Gucci and is believed to have left her three French bulldogs in the care of dogwalker Ryan Fischer.

On Wednesday night (February 24), Fischer was shot while walking Gaga’s dogs in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles and two of her pets, Koji and Gustav, were stolen. The third dog, Miss Asia, ran away and was later recovered by police.

Fischer was taken to the hospital and is in a critical condition, according to the LAPD.

Gaga has now spoken about the incident publicly for the first time. In two new tweets, the star confirmed the $500,000 (£359k) reward that has been offered for the safe return of the dogs. “My beloved dogs Koji and Gustav were taken in Hollywood two nights ago,” she wrote.

“My heart is sick and I am praying my family will be whole again with an act of kindness. I will pay $500,000 for their safe return. Email KojiandGustav@gmail.com to contact us.”

She continued: “If you bought or found them unknowingly, the reward is the same. I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero.”

French bulldogs are often a target for thieves because they are expensive and difficult to breed,  as well as being incredibly popular. According to CNN, French bulldog puppies can be sold for anywhere between $1,500 (£1,077) and $5,000 (£3,592) or more.

Sports Team among first wave of acts announced for Dot To Dot 2021

Sports Team have been announced to headline this year’s Dot To Dot festival.

They are among the first wave of acts confirmed for the two day bash which will be held in Bristol on September 25 and Nottingham the following day (26). Tickets are priced from £20 and are on sale here.

Other acts on the bill include Girl Band, Palace, Do Nothing, Oscar Lang, Chubby and the Gang, Yard Act, Drug Store Romeos, Molly Payton, Walt Disco, Joey Maxwell and Tayo Sound. You can see the full line-up so far below.

Sports Team frontman Alex Rice said of their headline slot: “Can’t wait to be back, this’ll be the first time we’ve played our debut album since it was released in 2020. A two-night inter-city headline feels the right way to dip our toes back in.”

It comes after earlier this week (February 22), it was reported that gigs, live events and nightclubs could return in June, if the government’s roadmap out of lockdown goes to plan.

Boris Johnson is aiming to “remove all legal limits on social contact” by June 21 at the earliest, which would pave the way for live music to restart without any restrictions on capacity or social distancing.

Since the announcement, a number of festivals including Reading & Leeds, Green Man and 2000 Trees have all revealed that they now hope to go ahead as usual in 2021, with Reading & Leeds selling out of tickets just two days after the announcement.

Festival Republic boss Melvin Benn, who runs R&L, Wireless and Latitude, has cited the UK’s successful vaccination programme as the key to unlocking large-scale music events this summer.

Will Carnage’s New Track Change House Music Forever? No.

Earlier this week, Carnage tweeted about his forthcoming house track, “KTM,” out today on Ultra Records, claiming it was going to “change house music forever.” Possessing the same energy as KSHMR calling his album “maybe even one of the best electronic albums of all time,” EDM Twitter’s immediate response was skepticism.

Carnage has been known to release a variety of music other than the festival trap that he initially became known for, digging into psytrance, hardstyle, and more, so pivoting to house wasn’t as much of a shock as one might expect. However, it was the sheer bravado and ego in his tweet that likely rubbed people the wrong way.

Two days ago, I received the promo for the song in my inbox, and immediately went, “Oh, it’s THIS song.” Turns out, I’d heard it back in May 2019 when a friend of mine showed it to me and just completely forgotten about it. When I heard it again, it brought back all the memories of heavily criticizing the track almost two years ago, but I wanted to go in with a fresh mind — maybe it had been changed or updated, or maybe my tastes had changed.

They hadn’t.

“KTM” is a very basic house song that ad nauseam repeats “Ketamine, cocaine, amphetamines” and is expected to be “the next Losing It” according to at least one person on Twitter. The beat is standard, the synths are standard, the lyrics are just controversial enough to avoid the “promoting drug culture” critique while still repetitively referencing them.

In a quote provided by his publicist, Carnage says, “There is no question that ‘KTM’ is the one track that defines exactly who I am as an artist in this exact moment in time. This song came together after years of self discovery through music and being open minded to new ways of life and inspirations. This is the beginning of the new me.”

The song launches his new house project, Gordo, so named after one of the nicknames he and has fans have adopted for him, Papi Gordo.

So, to answer the question, will Carnage’s new song “change house music forever”? No, absolutely not. To be clear, it’s not a terrible song but it is by no means the revelation that he claimed it would be. If nothing else, Carnage is pretty damn good at marketing his own music, and at the very least, he got everyone talking about it.
