Max Kilian – Bad Night (ft. ANNNA)

Expectations are high surrounding the talented producer that is Max Kilian. The young Dutch resembles something of Martin Garrix, not just in name and appearance, but also in his innovative productions.

‘Bad Night’, his second single on Dutch imprint Soave Records, features Latvian-Dutch singer ANNNA on a dark, electronically sounding house track. Progressive and deep influences create a unique atmosphere throughout this record that never ceases to surprise us. Don’t miss out on this brand new gem!

Surprisingly, as far as we can tell, this will be the first time the two have ever worked on a track together, original, remix, or otherwise. Despite both of them being such massive stars, either their styles never matched or the opportunity just never came up… until now.

Both Alesso and Armin shared tweets with matching captions and nearly identical images — Alesso’s featured his logo, and Armin’s featured his own.

Nathaniel Rateliff has made his Saturday Night Live debut, featuring as the latest musical guest on the famed talk show. Scroll down for the performance.

Rateliff kicked things off with an emotional rendition of his latest single ‘Redemption’. The track features in the new Apple+ original film Palmer, starring Justin Timberlake.

Speaking of the track in a press statement, he said, “When I was first asked to write a song for Palmer I was told what the film was about and where the song was going to be used. The melody and the opening line came to me immediately.”

“But it wasn’t until I had a conversation with Justin [Timberlake] that helped me to put the song together. He said the film was about redemption. I saw that in the characters and did my best to add to the scene in the film.”

Hangout Music Festival Moves Dates to 2022 with Possibility of Fall 2021 Event

Hangout Music Festival has officially moved to 2022, but is still exploring options for a potential Fall 2021 event.

In a new update, organizers reveal they are monitoring the ever-changing COVID-19 situation. Like the vast majority of festivals, Hangout was forced to cancel in 2020 due to the pandemic and is now eager to return.

Hangout shares per the statement below:

It’s crazy we are in this position again almost a year later, but due to the ongoing pandemic, we’re not going to be able to host the Hangout Music Festival in May of this year. We’ve been working on ways to pull it off, but May is just going to be a bit too soon to gather that many people together.

If a Fall 2021 event is possible, Hangout will keep hopeful attendees in the loop:

We are itching to do this show, so trust that we are going to do everything we can to make it happen while keeping the health & safety of our fans, artists, crew and partners as the top priority.

New dates for Hangout Music Festival are May 20 – 22, 2022. Ticketholders can expect an email in the coming weeks regarding the process for exchanges and refunds.

Tcahmi & Curbi Team For New Banger ‘Make Amends’

UK dance music phenomenon Curbi has teamed up with his French counterpart Tchami for the incredible new tune ‘Make Amends’. Featuring Los Angeles based singer Kyan Palmer, the record brings out the best from both producers, blending sweet R&B vocals and warm piano chords with inventive beats and electronic sounds.  This isn’t the first time the pair joined forces, 2020 saw Curbi’s record ‘Jawdrop’ release on Tchami’s label Confession. Now, they drop a pop song with a twist, only conceivable when two masterminds are behind the wheel – out now on Spinnin’ Records.

Known as one of the UK’s dance music prodigies, Curbi has been leaving impressions since bursting onto the scene in 2015 at the tender age of 16. He provided audiences with some instant dance classics, followed in 2019 by a more melodic approach with ‘Spiritual’, blending his inventive productions with sultry vocals (delivered by Brooke Tomlinson).

It represented a whole new chapter in the evolution of Curbi’s music, last year continued with the  Helen featured tunes ‘Feel’ and ‘Superpowers’, as well as keeping the rave going with the popular Mike Williams collab ‘Take Me There’.

French DJ/producer Tchami on his turn can also easily be acknowledged as a dance music phenomenon. Known as one of the main honcho’s of the famed future house sound, he’s scored global hits with records like ‘Promesses’, ‘After Life’, ’Made In France’ (a collab with his partners in crime DJ Snake, Malaa, and Mercer) and ‘Praise’ (ft. Gunna), one of the hit singles from his widely acclaimed 2020 debut album Year Zero.

In the meantime, he’s also caught the eye of pop-icon Lady Gaga, who enlisted him to co-produce her latest Grammy-nominated album CHROMATICA. Tchami is credited for working on four singles from the album, including her first release ‘Stupid Love’, a collaboration with Ariana Grande ‘Rain On Me’, as well as ‘100 Doves’ and ‘Babylon.’ As a long-time producer and friend of Lady Gaga, Tchami has also worked on her earlier hits ‘Applause’ and ‘Sexxx Dreams’ from her 2014 album Artpop, cementing his status as one the industry’s most sought after producers.

So here’s two undeniable forces of nowadays dance music combining their talents. ‘Make Amends’ is exactly what you’d hope for, a record that brings cool, broken beats along with warm piano chords and the R&B driven vocals of LA-based singer-songwriter Kyan Palmer. As he builds momentum towards the chorus, the track drops into a sweet minimal groove, squeezing sweet soul vibes into gritty electronic effects.

Curbi and Tchami deliver a blend of pop and dance, definitely, but not as you’ve heard before. Both artists are known for not taking the easy road, always surprising their audience with something unique and extraordinary. ‘Make Amends’ lives up to those expectations, as it’s electronic music with a twist, building a song on waves of R&B and melancholy vibes – an impressive result of two producers clearly getting the best out of each other.

“I really feel this song is the perfect blend of weirdness and catchiness. The vibe is super distinctive and has two main emotions which is really fun to combine. Honoured to finally work with such an amazing producer like Tchami and try something a little different from both our ends!” – Curbi

“‘Make Amends’ was such a fun song to make. The process of creating it with Curbi and Kyan Palmer was almost effortless as it felt like we already knew where we wanted to go with it. Can’t wait for everyone to hear this one.” – Tchami

Robert Fripp and Toyah celebrate Valentine’s Day with ‘Tainted Love’ cover

King Crimson’s Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox have shared a special Valentine’s Day cover of Soft Cell’s ‘Tainted Love’.

The couple have been sharing covers recorded from their home during the course of the coronavirus pandemic.

Their latest video saw them move from their usual location of their kitchen to the bedroom as they both performed the 1981 hit.

For this cover version, both Fripp and Willcox played the guitar, while Fripp’s face was covered in red lipstick kisses. Watch it below now.

Earlier this month (February 5), Willcox revealed why she and her husband had started their popular Sunday Lockdown Lunch series, which has seen several videos go viral. “Here I am in this house with this 74-year-old husband who I really don’t want to live without,” she explained of Fripp. “He was withdrawing, so I thought: ‘I’m going to teach him to dance.’ And it became a challenge.

“I do the lighting, the filming, the conceptual side and the persuading Robert to take part.”

She also discussed the time she convinced the musician to put on a pair of tights and a tutu to film a video of Swan Lake. “[He was] fucking furious,” she said. “He felt he was being mocked. But the response was so overwhelmingly positive, and now, six months down the line, he can see that it was quite an important thing to do, in that it became a shared experience with an audience that needed to be reminded of the beauty of human laughter.”

Over the course of the series, the couple have covered the likes of Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Metallica and Joan Jett. In some of the videos, they have made use of creative props, including gym weights and an exercise bike.
