Rooted in Connecticut, seventeen year old vocalist Kiddo Dust has captured the attention of the music industry with his wildly infectious voice and a sound mature beyond his years. Following up the recent success of his previous single “Strangers,” the rising star has partnered with acclaimed Brooklyn-based producer Musa to create a fresh pop hit titled “Coastin.” For those unfamiliar with Musa, the producer’s work has landed him coverage by Lyrical Lemonade, Paper, ELEVATOR, and of course, Dancing Astronaut. Now, the result of two emerging icons colliding has delivered something truly special.
“Coastin” simultaneously remains radio-friendly while still offering a fresh take on an otherwise oversaturated genre. Spacey, atmospheric production meshes with the pristine, soothing vocals of Kiddo Dust to illustrate a relatable story of the complications we all face in life and love. A phenomenal example of either a house party anthem or kickback soundtrack, “Coastin” has all the elements of a breakout hit.

Leon Vynehall has announced his second album ‘Rare, Forever’ and shared its two lead singles, ‘Mothra’ and ‘Ecce! Ego!’ – listen below.
Due for release on April 30 via Ninja Tune, the forthcoming 10-track record follows on from the electronic producer’s 2018 full-length debut ‘Nothing Is Still’.
‘Rare, Forever’ finds Vynehall delving into “who he is as a person and artist in the very moment”, and presents “a beautiful marriage” of his work so far while also progressing his sound.
‘Mothra’ is described by Vynehall as being “the euphoric unfurling of ‘something’.” He added: “Muted notes fluttering free before returning to the cascade we arrived from, only now with purpose.”
As for ‘Ecce! Ego!’ he explained: “The track’s title literally translates from Latin to ‘Behold! Me!’ A fitting introduction to an album about my own psyche, I thought.
“It starts off where ‘Nothing Is Still’ left off, but rapidly switches to something more fluid, perhaps even sinister. I kind of think of this song as ‘Envelopes (Chater VI)”s fucked up cousin.”

‘Rare, Forever’ also includes the songs ‘In>Pin’, ‘Snakeskin ∞ Has-Been’ and ‘Dumbo’. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here and see its full tracklist below.

In a four-star review of ‘Nothing Is Still’, NME wrote: “Here, Vynehall dreams in panoramic view opting for smoky beats and heavenly synth lines to make for a smattering of gorgeous arrangements.”
Seven Lions dropped a six-track EP, Seven Lions: 1999 EP, harkening back to the 90s rave scene with new spins on some of his biggest classics.
The total package includes four reimagined trance remixes and two extended editions. Fans received a first glimpse of the producer’s approach to these remixes last week, with the release of his nostalgic “Rush Over Me” remix. Seven Lions turns up the danceability on the classic melodic dubstep original, retrofitting it with pumping trance drums and vintage synth patches.
The formula follows a similar suit with his new “Days To Come” and “Worlds Apart” remixes as dancing melodic arpeggios underpin shining vocals from both Fiora and Kerli respectively. Closing things out with “Higher Love,” Seven Lions injects a light psytrance flare into his 2017 collaboration with Jason Ross, incorporating weighted kicks and slightly distorted trance basslines before sweeping into soaring melodies led by the vocals of Paul Meany.

At the tail end of 2020, Axtone had verified that D.O.D. would be making a label homecoming in the new year, and nearly two calendar turns to the day later, his welcomed return has been fully realized. Acting as his sonic preamble to the months ahead, D.O.D. has reconvened under Axwell’s label umbrella with the delivery of “Sleepless.”
D.O.D.’s latest stays one step ahead of the house curve, graciously relocating towards an alternative selfhood relative to the British talent’s preceding 2020 excursions. “Sleepless” drives straight down a picture-perfect lane of piano house to resolve as a number that would have undeniably presented itself as a set staple throughout Miami Music Week this March. It took 23 varied adaptations of the single before ultimately reaching its day of liberation, but D.O.D. shared his overjoyed excitement in returning to Axtone, stating,
“So happy to be releasing another track with the Axtone crew! Putting out something a little different from my past releases with them, shaking things up for 2021. Enjoy!”
Charli XCX has shared more details about a new documentary that chronicles the making of her 2020 album ‘How I’m Feeling Now‘.
Alone Together, the title of which was originally reported to be 6ft Apart, will premiere on March 18 at the 2021 edition of the South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival.
“The documentary tells the story of not only the 5 week process surrounding the making of my album, ‘how i’m feeling now’, but also all the emotions that creating, connecting and living in a quarantine and in basically a new world evokes for people across the globe,” Charli wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you to the angels who are featured in this documentary and also to directors @bradleyandpablo, u now know me inside out. Thanks to @emmieshouse @kvrowley @sampringle and of course, scene stealer @huckkwong. Thank you to iconic Ross Levine, not sure what ur insta handle is, and also to all the editors and others who helped us with this feat. Not sure when this is coming out but enjoy it when it does. ?”
The film, produced by Charli with Snoot Entertainment and Dangerous Baby Productions, marks the feature-length directorial debut from veteran music video directors Bradley&Pablo (Harry Styles, Rosalia, Lil Nas X).
NME’s Hannah Mylrea dissected ‘How I’m Feeling Now’ last May in a four-star review, writing: “This wonky pop record perfectly encapsulates the disorientating mood of our current, bizarre times”.
Meanhwile, No Rome has teased a new collaboration with The 1975 and Charli XCX.
The Dirty Hit artist took to Twitter on Monday (February 8) to share the news. He wrote, “me, (the creator of music) Charli XCX & The 1975 have a song together. Got the masters done and waiting on video edit cuts. Coming out sooner than u think ok that’s all for now I love u”.
Martin Garrix‘s first release of the year has arrived – a collaboration alongside the “Talking Body” songstress, Tove Lo.
When EDM.com connected with Martin Garrix late last year, he went on the record saying that he felt he was producing his “craziest music ever” and he could hardly wait to reveal what was on the horizon. Today, fans finally have a first look at what the producer has been diligently working on.
Garrix’s latest, “Pressure,” burns bright and long with Tove Lo’s alluring vocals taking a central focus throughout. Interestingly enough, “Pressure” forgoes the route of a festival anthem one might expect with two major artists of this caliber and persuasion joining forces. Instead, Martin Garrix treats “Pressure” as an exercise in discipline, employing subdued synth work and a minimal melodic hook that is just simple enough to get stuck on repeat inside your head. Surrounding sub-bass textures accentuate Tove Lo’s dark, sultry tones in this radio-ready hit.
Martin Garrix seems likely to share more music in short order as he has a lengthy set of releases reportedly on the horizon. That list also includes an album from his joint side project with Maejor, AREA21.
From Punctual‘s studio comes a seductive floor-filler with Danish singer-songwriter Nabiha, “The Step.” The single, which samples the Missy Elliott classic “I’m Really Hot,” is a raw, club-ready house cut that combines catchy vocals with punchy basslines and breakdowns. It follows the pair’s 2020 hit single “I Don’t Wanna Know.”
Comprising Will Lansley and John Morgan, Punctual pierced the scene in 2016 with their debut single “Eva,” released via Becky Tong’s Juicebox label. The dynamic duo has since continued to release music under the Punctual project while diversifying its catalog with production credits on Raye’s “Regardless” and on Steve Aoki’s “Imagine” with Frank Walker and AJ Mitchell.
“The Step,” released via Interscope Records, is destined to become a post-lockdown club staple. Dancing Astronaut caught up with Lansley and Morgan of Punctual to chat about their recent success, how they met, the dance music scene in the UK and Europe, and of course, their new song with Nabiha. Find “The Step” and the interview below.
How were you introduced to dance music, and what prompted you to form a duo?
Punctual: :Our first real introduction to dance music was drum ‘n’ bass. Albums like Pendulum‘s ‘Hold Your Color,’ Sub Focus‘s Sub Focus, and Chase & Status‘ ‘More Than A Lot’ inspired us both to start making that kind of music.
We both grew up together in a small town and were actually introduced by a friend who we both separately made music with. The first time we ever met each other was in a bedroom, producing dance music!”
What is unique about the club scene in the UK as opposed to the rest of Europe?
Punctual: “Obviously right now, clubbing feels like a bit of a distant memory, but we’re lucky in the UK, especially in London, to have such a thriving club scene and have some of the best clubs in the world on our doorstep. It is certainly different from the rest of Europe in terms of what you can get away with playing though.
In our experience, when we’ve played at European festivals, what people react well to leans slightly more toward the EDM side of things. People are just there to have a good time and generally go wild to high-energy music! The UK has a slightly more refined taste; it’s more about building an atmosphere across your set. That’s a bit of a generalization, obviously, but generally speaking that’s how we approach our sets depending on where we play.”
Who are some of your major influences inside and outside of dance music and how have they impacted you musically and individually?
Punctual: “It sounds cliché, but we’re both massive fans of music generally. We tend to not listen to dance music in our spare time which I think helps with creativity when we get back in the studio. It’s difficult to single out one or two artists who shape our music in that respect because it’s a whole mirage of styles and sounds that will impact it, although we both absolutely love R&B artists like H.E.R. and Lucky Daye, and when we’re writing with vocalists/topliners, it’s often the more R&B melodies that get us super excited about a track.”
Where do you draw inspiration from when it comes to production?
Punctual: “From all over the place really! Right now, we’re inspired by a whole range of artists from the likes of Riton to RÜFÜS DU SOL to Bassment Jaxx!”
What can fans expect from ‘Punctual’ in the next coming months?
Punctual: “We’ve obviously got our new single ‘The Step’ and we’re currently working on a little club VIP mix of it to come in a few months’ time! Otherwise, we’ve got a bunch of singles, collaborations, and remixes that are set to be released over 2021 that we’re super excited about. We’re also going to continue releasing DJ mixes on our ‘Right On Time’ mix series where we play our favorite records that month.”
Where would you like to see Punctual five years from now?
Punctual: “We’d absolutely love to release an album one day. It’d be amazing to do a longer project where we get to be super experimental and push the boundaries across a whole collection of tracks. Generally, still being able to do what we do for a living in five years’ time will be a blessing because not everyone is able to do that, and we feel extremely lucky that we get to do what we love every day.”
Outside of music, what do you enjoy doing in your free time? Have you picked up any hobbies throughout the pandemic?
Punctual: “We’re both into all sorts of things outside music and think it’s important to step away from music sometimes and refresh your brain. John is a keen football (soccer) player and an avid Arsenal FC fan. He is also a big chess player and plays every day! I [Will] am big into horticulture, and am currently very proud of the new succulents I’m growing.”

Fleetwood Mac have announced details of a new deluxe edition of their classic 1980 live album ‘Fleetwood Mac Live’.

Rhino are now preparing to re-release ‘Fleetwood Mac Live’ in a “super deluxe” format on April 9. The album is set to be presented in a new 3xCD/2xLP collection, featuring a remastered version of the original release on both 180-gram vinyl and CD and more than an hour of unreleased Fleetwood Mac live music on the third CD that was recorded between 1977 and 1982.
The set also includes a bonus 7-inch single which features previously unreleased demos for ‘Fireflies’ and ‘One More Night’.
To accompany today’s announcement (February 11), Fleetwood Mac have shared a previously unreleased live recording of ‘The Chain’ that was recorded in Cleveland in 1980. You can hear the track below.
The 14 live tracks that debut on the “super deluxe” edition of the record include seven songs from the band’s Tusk tour (1979-80), four from the Rumours tour (1977) and three from the Mirage tour (1982).
This new edition of ‘Fleetwood Mac Live’ will be presented in a 12×12 rigid slipcase which comes with a booklet filled with rare photos, a full itinerary for the Tusk Tour and a history of the live album by writer David Wild.
“Then and now, ‘Fleetwood Mac Live’ artfully marks a fascinating time period for a group that, in one form or another, has been on the global stage for more than half a century,” Wild writes. “It’s a wildly entertaining rock ’n’ roll circus in full swing under a big tent of the band’s own creation as they leave audiences dazzled in locales from Paris, France, to Passaic, New Jersey.”
When you’re in the midst of a global pandemic, it can sometimes be hard to see the good through the bad. And yet, while shows have all but disappeared over the last 11 months, there has been so much intense creativity resulting in some truly incredible music.
Case in point, the latest All Nighter compilation from artbyFORM:
On February 6th, 2021, over 800 unique artists came together to create a single charity compilation in 24 hours. Taking advantage of the fact that this would be the only FORM All Nighter event of the year, each participant went all-out. 45 of the most stellar tracks were hand-picked to create an album that’s phenomenal front-to-back— from math rock, to gritty electronic, to chiptune.
All Nighter Vol. 6 is a reflection of creativity, teamwork, and the sleepless delusion that comes with staying up all night— but most of all, it’s a reflection of our community. We couldn’t ask for a better one.
The compilation was such a hidden gem that even Porter Robinson himself had to tweet about it when he stumbled upon it on SoundCloud.
man i just stumbled across this on soundcloud and it’s so cool, so much creativity and effort on display from a lot of up and coming artists in many many different styles. this sort of thing is good for the worldhttps://t.co/sIGJ5DizO8https://t.co/aCQ8s938Wp
The compilation consists of 45 tracks spanning a huge range of styles and genres, and also features a couple songs from our Artists To Watch alumni, euphorian and acloudyskye.
If you’re looking for some new music to dig into, this is your sign to listen to All Nighter Vol. 6 from FORM. All profits from All Nighter Vol. 6 will be donated to Prevent Child Abuse America.
Deathpact is paving their own way in the industry. In a truly unprecedented move, the mysterious masked maven is dropping a slew of remixes of never-heard-before Deathpact IDs prior to the release of the originals. REAPER delivered the first official “ID” remix just yesterday, and the next to take on the feat is none other than Dirtybird head honcho,Claude VonStroke.
The remix for the undisclosed ID is dark and hypnotic, keeping on-brand for Deathpact releases. VonStroke incorporates a robotic element into the production, filling it with sporadic breaks and vocoded vocal chops. It has a downtempo beat that slowly builds to fully engulf the listener into a mesmeric trance.
Fans have a lot to look forward to from Deathpact. Over the course of the next few months, he will be unleashing original music through an immersive campaign that will span both the digital and physical realm. In a press release attached to the new remixes, they describe the upcoming project as “rooted in the concept of duality, division, and regeneration.” While we don’t have much information as to what’s to come, we do know there will be interactive puzzles and treasure hunts involved.
You can stream Deathpact – “ID” (Claude VonStroke Remix) across all platforms here.
