A creative TikTok user has gone viral lately after engineering a trash can into a speaker dubbed the Blast Bin and sharing footage of tunes being played on it.
With this new invention, you’ll be able to subtly let your friends know how you really feel about their SoundCloud mixes when you play their set on a trash can. All jokes aside, the speaker itself is quite impressive and well-engineered, as you can see in the embedded videos from his Instagram page.
As previously mentioned, the creator did a great job with his build as the sound is actually pretty solid considering it’s coming out of a literal trash can. It’s funny to see how he packed so much power into the bin that it lifts the lid with each bass punch.
Interestingly enough, one commenter questioned what would happen if he taped the lid down, the hilarious results of which you can see yourself below.
Check out all of Blast Bin’s videos and submit song suggestions for consideration on the official TikTok page here.
On September 30, Mondo reissued Daft Punk‘s TRON: Legacy soundtrack, packaging bonus tracks along with the score’s time-honored originals in a double-disc vinyl format. Although the two-part timetable treat celebrating the film’s 10th anniversary sold out almost instantaneously, the TRON drop isn’t stopping there, as TRON: Legacy – The CompleteEdition (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) makes its way to streaming platforms.
This edition of the Daft Punk-helmed TRON score expands the amount of digitally available Legacy cuts, and notably offers an alternative listening option to TRON: Legacy, released January 1, 2010. Whereas TRON: Legacy collated 22 of TRON‘s inclusions, starting with “Overture” and concluding with “Finale,” TRON: Legacy – The CompleteEdition (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) spans 31 tracks, making all TRON content released to date available on one album.
Like TRON: Legacy, the new-issue digital LP also commences with “Overture,” but extends past “Finale” to encompass nine songs not previously on TRON: Legacy. These new additions start at “Sea of Simulation” (the 23rd tracklisting), and go all the way through the 31st tracklisting, “Outlands, Part II.” These nine additions specifically include all seven of the bonus tracks released via vinyl in September, as well as the two iTunes exclusive bonus songs, formerly only accessible on iTunes and Apple Music (“Father and Son” and “Outlands, Part II”).
Offering a hearty hit of Daft Punk, TRON: Legacy – The CompleteEdition (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) can be streamed in full below.
Ed Sheeran has announced that he will return with a new single tomorrow (December 21) – his first release in nearly 18 months.
The star last shared new music with 2019’s star-studded ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ album, which saw him team up with the likes of Stormzy, Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, Cardi B and more.
In a new Instagram post shared earlier today (20), Sheeran wrote: “11am GMT tomorrow. A Christmas present.”
A new Instagram story also bore the same message, following a very brief video clip of Sheeran settling down to play his guitar.
Although it has not been officially confirmed what he will release tomorrow, UK radio station Power Radio tweeted yesterday (19) that the musician would release a new single called ‘The Afterglow’ on December 21.

Meanwhile, Sheeran donated £10,000 to the hospital that cared for his late grandmother last month (November 21). The money went to the Aldeburgh Hospital League Of Friends to be put towards buying musical instruments for dementia patients and those with special needs and audiovisual disabilities, according to reports.
The donation followed him giving £170,000 to his former school earlier in 2020 to provide key equipment for students. The singer attended Thomas Mills School in Framlingham, Suffolk and is said to have donated the huge sum in a bid to help other pupils achieve success.
NME awarded Sheeran’s ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ three stars out of five on its release in July 2019. The review read: “In 10 or 20 years’ time, ‘No. 6 Collaborations Project’ could be the perfect time capsule of what pop was in 2019. It’s less an album, more a collection of savvy and generally savvy collaborations which blurs traditional genre boundaries unselfconsciously and acknowledges that Latin-pop is the sound of the near-future.”
It’s been a decade since Daft Punk released TRON: Legacy, their soundtrack to the movie sequel of the same name. Behind Random Access Memories, it was one of the last collections of music they released. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, they’ve returned with The Complete Edition to the soundtrack, including an additional 9 tracks.
Back in July in an interview with Collider, TRON: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski hinted at unreleased music from the movie.
“I can neither confirm nor deny that there may be some incredible music that we weren’t able to fit in the movie,” he said. Though, he seemingly did confirm it, following it up with, “Someday it would be nice to figure out some way to share that. Disney needs some other revenue streams right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if we try to do that at some point. That’d be great.”
Apparently that was all true and the music has been released! New tracks like “Sea of Simulation,” “Castor,” “Reflections,” and more are now available to stream on all streaming services. Check it out below.
Renowned electronic producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Grabbitz was quick to enrapture the EDM world with his April collaboration with REZZ, “Someone Else,” which spotlighted his stirring, Hozier-esque vocals at their finest. Now, it seems he has done the impossible, transforming the head-banging bass of “Your Fault” by Excision, SLANDER and Elle Vee into a gorgeous chorale cover suitable for all musical palettes.
With a dazzling use of harmonies, Grabbitz’s take on “Your Fault” is bound to consume any listener’s attention for the entirety of its single minute, deconstrcuting the track down to pure vocal perfection. It was all done in a style popularized by musician Jacob Collier, with Grabbitz splicing together five different versions of his own voice to make a track with resonance, depth and grace.
“Your Fault” is just the latest in a long line of acoustic covers created by the artist, including both an acoustic version and a six-part harmonic version of “Someone Else.” And if five frames of Grabbitz aren’t enough, you can also find a chorus composed of 100 separate Grabbitz vocal recordings below.
Lucy Monkman, otherwise known as Monki, has just released her latest track, “Queen of Hearts,” via her own label & Friends. The progressive house anthem straddles generations, giving off an 1980’s prowess that spawns an early electronic feel. Spanning nearly seven minutes, “Queen of Hearts” shares a continuous beat with background synths that seamlessly glide across the track.
Offering an undeniable groove, Monki yet again showcases her unceasing talent on “Queen of Hearts.” Having previously run her own show on BBC Radio 1 and now, hosting a show on Defected radio, Monki has proven to be a tastemaker of this generation of dance music.
A 12-year-old boy has found fame after hosting a 30-minute rave in his Manchester school’s bathroom during the lunch break.
Cael Bell’s set lasted for 30 minutes before teachers at St. Antony’s Catholic College in Manchester broke up the party and confiscated his DJ equipment.
Speaking to The Mirror on Friday (December 18), Bell’s mother Fiona said that the boy’s speaker and lights had been seized. In a Facebook post shedding more light on the juvenile DJ set, however, she explained that she had seen the amusing side of the incident, asking: “Am I wrong for finding this funny?”
“I had to laugh. It has been a terrible year and I couldn’t be angry with my son for trying to spread some cheer,” she continued.
“When I got the call, it made perfect sense. Cael had been up, dressed and ready to leave for school early that morning which was unheard of in our house. He had the biggest smile on his face so I knew he had something up his sleeve.
“I asked him what he was so happy about and he told me they were having a rave in school. I thought nothing of it, I didn’t think for one minute there was any truth to it. But when I heard what Cael had done, from advertising the rave on Snapchat to actually pulling it off and even providing refreshments, I couldn’t help but see the funny side.”
See Louise Bell’s Facebook post below, which goes into further detail about the DJ set itself – including the fact that Cael had arranged complementary Lucozade and Cadbury Twirls for attendees at the rave.
Just had a call from Caels school He had organised a rave in the boys toilets at dinner time invited all the boys from…
Bell added that she would find footage of the event, while sharing a clip of her son showcasing his bedroom DJ talents.
She went on to explain that Cael’s dad thought it was “hysterical”, and the pair eventually decided not to punish the student for his actions. “We did have a conversation about whether or not we should be angry but how could we be?” she concluded.
Diplo made his highly publicized entrance into country music earlier this year, dropping the star-studded, cross-genre album Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil.
While Diplo has assured fans a second chapter from ThomasWesley is on the way, he’s tiding his audience over with a deluxe version of his debut effort in the meantime. With the new installment, he’s included two new tracks, “Horizon” featuring Grammy-winning soul singer Leon Bridges, and “Bottle’s Bout Dead” featuring ERNEST, an ascendant artist out of Nashville.
While the broader album saw a more pronounced infusion of dance and country music flavors, the latest offerings from Diplo are among his most straight-forward country songs to date. Of course, he didn’t completely resist the urge to spice things up, injecting a dose of trap influence with beefed up kicks and crisp percussion. Topped off with the strum of acoustic guitars, the mix leaves plenty of room for the vocalists to have the spotlight.
The rest of the feature-heavy album, which includes the Jonas Brothers, Julia Michaels, and Young Thug, just to name a few, demonstrates Diplo has no hesitation when it comes to exploring new creative lanes.
In early November, ATTLAS surprised fans with his second album of the year, his calming and uplifting Out Here With You. Now, the mau5trap producer has given the LP a complete overhaul, transforming the original material into a continuous mix. Titled Out Here Together, the new mix is rearranged in a way that better reflects a cohesive storyline, loaded up with samples to assist the narrative. To accompany the mix, serial-collaborator Cyclo also crafted a continuous edit of his visuals, including ideas meant for eventual live-shows. Cyclo explained,
“To create this longer piece, I knew I wanted to keep all the visuals that we had made for the album but I also wanted to bring in some of the visuals I had built for the live show that me and [ATTLAS] had started planning. With him adding these breaks in the music with quotes, it was a great chance to bring in the plants behind rainy windows as moments of reflections. I very much approached this mix as a way to look back and reflect on the year, but also feel hope about what is coming next.”
Dancing Astronaut also caught up with ATTLAS to ask about what inspired the new mix, where the samples were pulled from, and what he hopes people take away from the mix. Find both the mix and the interview below.
What inspired you to rework Out Here With You into this new format? You’ve also put several new samples into Out Here Together. How do the additional samples help convey the story line you’ve structured here?
ATTLAS: “So the impetus for this project was simple enough from the get go—the label (mau5trap) wanted a continuous mix of the album. In most, if not all of my studio-constructed mixes, I try to incorporate scenes and characters and a narrative structure. They’re a loose narrative; however, they’re human enough that you’re drawn in with curiosity and empathy, but not so specific that they leave the listener unable to relate. The most elevated execution of these techniques and ambitions is my storyline series. No matter where I’m playing a set or what new music I’m releasing, the feedback always comes back to ‘when’s the next storyline?’
While this isn’t a storyline ‘technically,’ it’s in the spirit of it. As I started building the continuous mix for mau5trap, I quickly realized that the album order wasn’t necessarily the most conducive to the kind of mix I wanted to prepare. I started re-assembling the album order with tracks that were reproduced in new keys to better suit the continuous immersion I was striving for with the project. As the music side of the mix took shape, what began as a hunt for the perfect intro and outro narration turned into the deeper process of quote-sourcing and character building that typically happens as I build storyline.
The quotes themselves in this mix are deliberately about vulnerability and being able to open up to someone. The album itself was about that surrender in a year of unpredictability and letting myself appreciate the goodness that still persisted. Nevertheless, there has been an enormous toll taken on so much of our psyche, our souls, our hearts and our confidence. The mix opens with an invitation to talk and closes with seeking confidence in a friend. We’ve had to do that so much more this year. Being okay with weakness and vulnerability and being willing to open up that part of your messed up and confused heart and mind to another, and to do so in trust. The mix brings the album into a new place that’s about visual wonder and human connection. For whatever happens next, we’re out here together. For ourselves, for each other.”

Lil Wayne has shared a deluxe edition of his new ‘No Ceilings 3’ mixtape.
The rapper shared the mixtape, hosted by DJ Khaled and featuring a verse from Drake, at the end of November, and has now added 14 new tracks to the mixtape with the expanded edition.
As with ‘No Ceilings 3’, the ‘B Side’ effort is also hosted by DJ Khaled, and sees Wayne interpolating and sampling a host of tracks from others, including SZA’s ‘Hit Different’ (on a new song of the same name) and YNW Melly and Kanye West’s ‘Mixed Personalities’.
Stream ‘No Ceilings 3 – B Side’ in full via YouTube below.
“The mixtape game seemed to be a dying art and since I’m one of the pioneers of the craft, and it played such a big part in my career, I felt it was only right to resurrect it,” Lil Wayne said of ‘No Ceilings 3’ in an interview with Complex. “Also, it’s a lot of songs out here I wanted to kill my way!”
In other news, Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to one count of illegal firearm possession this month.
The rapper – real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – was charged last month for an incident in December 2019, in which the rapper had boarded a flight with a loaded .45 calibre handgun packed in his luggage.
Carter is also being sued by his former managers Ronald Sweeney and Avant Garde Management for alleged unpaid commissions.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the two claim they are owed over $20 million in unpaid management commissions by Wayne. They claim to have managed over 30 lawsuits for the rapper, which brought in a substantial amount of money for him, and for which they allege they “received very little compensation”.
