Now, the band have announced the two special guests who will be joining them for the upcoming dates next spring – namely Crusade and Dave Hill.

The 2024 tour launches with a stop in Stockholm on April 29, before continuing with dates in Oslo (30), Copenhagen (May 1) and Luxembourg (3).

From there, the duo will play a show in Dublin on May 5, before making stops at six UK cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Nottingham and Brighton.

The ‘Spicy Meatball Tour’ will wrap up with a slot at the Accor Arena in Paris on May 15. Tickets are available now and you can find any remaining ones here.

“It’s no joke. Tenacious D is the best band in the world and in the ‘Spicy Meatball Tour’ they are at the peak of their powers,” read a quote from an ‘anonymous rock historian’ shared in a tour’s press release.

“Better than The Beatles…better than the Stones…even better than Taylor Swift,” it added. “And they have PYRO!!! Do not miss the spicy meatball…it’s D- licious!!!”

Back in May, Tenacious D released their first new song in five years, ‘Video Games’. The duo followed it up the following month with a studio version of their viral ‘Wicked Game’ cover.

Listen to Peace’s new single ‘Happy Cars’

Peace have shared a new single called ‘Happy Cars’ – you can listen to it below.

Arriving today (October 25), the feel-good ‘Happy Cars’ is the first track from the upcoming record to be made widely available on streaming services. It is described as a “thrilling evolution” of Peace’s “classic sound”.

‘Utopia’ has not yet been given a date for release on streaming platforms or digital stores, meaning the vinyl edition is currently the only way to own the album in full.

During an interview with NME last month, the group shared insight into why they chose to release the LP via the cryptic website first. Frontman Harry Koisser joked that people warned him and his brother/bandmate Sam that the move would be “career suicide”.

“I just don’t see how. We can put music on Spotify whenever we want, release vinyl whenever we want,” he said.

‘Utopia’ follows on from Peace’s 2018 album ‘Kindness Is The New Rock and Roll’, and will see the two-piece go down a more experimental path than they might be known for.

“We didn’t necessarily know [we were making a Peace album when we were making it] – we just went and started doing it without knowing what it was,” Sam told NME.

Harry added: “When we were listening back to it, we were like, ‘This feels like a Peace record. We had managed to create this music that wasn’t really far off from it.”

Peace are due to embark on a UK headline tour next month. The run of dates includes a sold-out show at Heaven in London. You can see the full list of gigs below and find any remaining tickets here.

03 – Komedia, Bath
04 – Town Hall, Birmingham
05 – Engine Rooms, Southampton
07 – Stylus, Leeds
08 – Òran Mór, Glasgow
09 – Wylam Brewery, Newcastle

Keith Richards says a Rolling Stones hologram concert is “bound to happen”

Keith Richards has not ruled out an AI-powered hologram concert of The Rolling Stones, saying that the spectacle is “bound to happen”.

  • READ MORE: The Rolling Stones – ‘Hackney Diamonds’ review: they’ve still got it

In a new interview with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1, Richards addressed the topic of an AI-created hologram concert featuring himself and his bandmates, saying: “Well, I certainly wouldn’t rule it out. I’m pretty sure that it is bound to happen”.

“Do I want it? Now, that’s another thing,” the guitarist added. “But I don’t know if I want to hang around that long enough, man. But at the same time, it won’t be up to me, will it?”

Richards’ bandmate Mick Jagger previously addressed the topic in September in an interview with The Wall Street Journal while discussing the success of ABBA’s Voyage show.

“You can have a posthumous business now, can’t you? You can have a posthumous tour,” Jagger said at the time. “The technology has really moved on since the ABBA thing, which I was supposed to go to, but I missed it.”

The Rolling Stones released their 24th studio album ‘Hackney Diamonds’ on October 20. The record features contributions from Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Elton John and Stevie Wonder, and includes drum parts from the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts, as well as bass contributions from founding member Bill Wyman.

Richards has previously shared that the band was prompted to write the record by the death of Watts in 2021. “It [Watts’ death] jolted us into thinking we’ve got to make a record,” Richards said. “It was important for us to put out something we had cut with Charlie.”

Prepare to Rave Hobbit-Style at Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie's Fantasy-Themed Electronic Shows

A rave is coming to the faraway lands of Hobbiton and Frodo is set to be the most famous DJ in all of Middle-earth.

A pair of fantasy-themed electronic events will see The Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie perform headlining sets at Seattle’s Q Nightclub on February 1st and Portland’s 45 East on February 3rd. Together, the two actors perform under their collaborative alias, Wooded Wisdom, playing all 45 RPM records.

In a well-curated accompaniment for the themed events, Nora Van Elken will play supporting sets for both shows. Earlier this year, the Dutch DJ and producer surprised fans with an epic triptych of progressive house tracks that reworked iconic music from J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic LOTR series, in which Wood starred as Frodo Baggins.

Wood is no stranger to getting behind the decks, who started DJing at a bar in New Zealand in 2000. It would be nearly 10 years later until he collaborated with Cowie at a party, where the two “bonded over obscure music… over a similar sense of adventure in music consumption,” per The New York Times. The two then formed Wooden Wisdom, spinning all-vinyl, psychedelic ’70s funk and garage mainly for their friends.

Wooded Wisdom have been somewhat on the back-burner since then, although the two performed alongside DJ Fitz at Primavera Sound over the summer. Now, LOTR fans and vinyl enthusiasts will get a taste of the duo to kick off the frosty winter season proper.

Costumes are highly encouraged for the events. Both nights are set to be magical sonic journeys trekking across the mystical lands of sweltering house music.

If Gandalf once again gets delayed on his epic journey home, we’ll know what went down.

Taylor Swift isn’t a “spoiled musician”, says Travis Kelce’s dad

Taylor Swift may be one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but she doesn’t act like one, according to Ed Kelce, the father of her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

The elder Kelce, who made history as the first parent to have two sons play against each other in the Super Bowl, opened up about his impression of Swift in a recent interview with People Magazine.

Recounting how Swift had begun clearing up discarded bottles, cans and plates in the suite at their first meeting, he said, “And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo”.

“She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot,” he added. “She’s very smart. I mean, very. That comes through right away,” he concluded.

In other Taylor Swift news, she recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Cruel Summer’, four years after it was released on her 2019 album ‘Lover’.

The feat has put her in an elite club of artists with 10 or more Number Ones on the Hot 100. Swift is tied with Elvis Presley for the fourth-most chart-toppers among all acts, behind only The Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (19) and Rihanna (14).

Meanwhile, Swift will release ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ on October 27, following on from other re-recordings including ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’. The latter was released earlier this year to an enthusiastic reception, becoming the singer’s 10th UK Number One album and outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined.

Record-Breaking ADE Welcomes 500,000 to World's Leading Electronic Music Summit

The star of ADE’s legend is only growing brighter after the conference’s 2023 edition, which broke records to the tune of 500,000 people.

When it comes to electronic music, there exists no place on Earth that stacks up to the annual Amsterdam Dance Event. The frills and thrills of ADE offer a plunge into the culture the likes of which you simply cannot find anywhere else in the world.

So it should come as no surprise that ADE’s organizers reinforced the event as the world’s leading electronic music summit this year. Half a million people immersed themselves in its 28th edition, which we’re told hosted over 1,000 events and nearly 3,000 artists across 200 locations across the city.

Organizers sold a staggering 650,000 tickets, dwarfing the attendance of many of the world’s largest music festivals. It all paints a picture of a thriving electronic dance music community that is poised for continued growth and success, thanks to the dedication and support of its passionate members.

ADE 2023.

Jasper ten Tusscher

The ADE Pro component, the programming of which extended to four days for the first time, is prevalently considered ground zero for the trends that dictate EDM’s future. This year’s conference featured panels and discussions with tech luminaries from Google, Spotify, TikTok, YouTube and many more, who explored everything from the future of festivals to the enduring impact of AI on the music industry.

Meanwhile, creativity and innovation flourished at the ADE Lab, which underpinned its organizers’ commitment to fostering the next generation of music producers. DJs, songwriters and industry pros from all walks of life connected over their shared love of electronic music as they took part in various workshops and panels with renowned artists like Nicky Romero, Reinier Zonneveld, A-Trak, Darude and Mama Snake.

Next year’s edition of ADE will take place October 16-20, 2024. You can find out more via the event’s website.
