Matt Barri just spent a year in the studio meticulously crafting and curating a distinctive electro-emo sound. The culmination of which is “The Only Way Out Is Up,” original rolled out track by track to allow his fans to digest his unique fusion of genres one wildly original single at a time. Yet, when experienced in its entirety – especially with the inclusion of the previously unrevealed title track – the depth of Matt’s ingenuity becomes evident. Every song, penned and vocalized by him, offers an immersive experience, establishing him as a multifaceted talent in the EDM world. The EP sets the tone with the fan-loved “Everything To Me,” characterized by its resonant drums and riveting synths complementing the emotive vocals. It’s followed by tracks like “You Are Here,” which dives deeper into buoyant future bass vibes, and “I’m In Space While You’re Worlds Apart,” reflecting introspective undertones. “Orbiter” rejuvenates with its upbeat ambiance, while the instrumental title track epitomizes Matt’s unique style.
IVE have shared the official music video for their latest single, ‘Baddie’, which was released earlier today (October 13).
The track is taken from the Starship Entertainment girl group’s new EP, ‘I’VE MINE’, which also arrived today.
In the colourful video, the group becomes “cat humans” that inspire a wave of news bulletins warning: “These so-called baddies are ruining our society.”
Throughout the video, the members embody these apparent scourges, taking over supermarkets and performing choreography around a fire under the moon. “I’m a baddie / Pretty little risky baddie,” they chant on the chorus. “Whatever happens, happens catch me if you can / Baddie, baddie, baddie / Move out of the way, if you block me / I’ll fly up so catch me if you can.”
The track was written by rapper BIG Naughty and K-pop producer Ryan Jhun, the latter of whom also co-composed all songs on ‘I’VE MINE’.
Prior to ‘I’VE MINE’’s release today, IVE previewed the EP with two pre-release singles – ‘Either Way’ and ‘Off The Record’.
The new record arrives six months after the release of their debut studio record, which was accompanied by the singles ‘Kitsch’ and ‘I Am’. In an interview with NME, member Leeseo shared: “I want people to know that IVE doesn’t just do a single genre, but that they’re capable of doing many different types of music.”
Meanwhile, the girl group kicked off their debut world tour, ‘Show What I Have’, in Seoul earlier this month. More dates are yet to be revealed.
ADE is right around the corner and here to help bolster your soundtrack for this iconic gathering is Chicago’s prolific DJ, producer, A&R, and podcaster Sherm. Sherm is also moderating a panel at ADE on 10/19 this year (see here) welcoming guests Carissa Szlosek (from Prodigy artists), DJ Susan (Hood Politics), and Kaysin (A&R Repopulate Mars). The conversation will focus on how to start a relationship with US labels, how to develop a fanbase, organise successful events, and grow profitable relationships with the US. In addition to the panel, he’ll be performing at the Hood Politics x Bring The Kingdom (sub label of Hexagon) showcase on 10/21 (details here).
Music producers can now pocket a plethora of new samples from one of electronic music’s brightest sound designers.
Pocket has made quite a splash with his unique sound, an emotive blend of frenetic UK garage and honeyed electronica. And after quickly emerging as one of the scene’s most promising producers, it wasn’t long before the Scottish beatsmith’s contemporaries urged him to make sample packs.
Pocket, who signed to Helix Records earlier this year, has now released a brand-new sample pack, “Neo Textures.” The collection was hotly anticipated after the runaway success of his debut bundle, which consists of various drum samples he created with a mix of synthesis, field recordings and foley sessions.
Recorded and produced in Edinburgh, the new pack comprises a whopping 100 samples, offering fans an arsenal of textures that function as the building blocks of Pocket’s gilded beats. The toolkit is available for $26 and consists of layered melody loops, foley, vocal samples and FX.

“I have always been a huge fan of giving a digital sound acoustic properties,” Pocket said. “I think it’s important to create space in a song, and to give the impression of spacial depth. Sound design is the best way to do this. Whether it be layering texture or creating movement with pitch and panning etc, one sound that’s positioned in its own physical space can completely change the listener experience.”
One of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2023 is back again. HoneyLuv has consistently reaffirmed the exact reasoning behind why she earned that title this year, and she’s now adding to her 2023 release scorecard—which already includes meetings with Seth Troxler, Harry Romero, Will Clarke, and more—with “Let’s Get Sexy” alongside NEZ.
Marking her fifth release of 2023 and arriving via Three Six Zero Recordings, “Let’s Get Sexy” wears its title on its sleeve, acting as another sultry house cut from HoneyLuv. Combining her smooth approach with the Chicago native’s vocals, HoneyLuv aimed their meeting towards the fashion world, adding that it has “the sass and sexiness that fits perfectly on the runway.” Stream “Let’s Get Sexy” below.

Following huge demand for tickets across the globe, the pop star announced in August she would screen a concert film of the tour in cinemas. “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged,” Swift wrote in the announcement post.
Is Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour film available on streaming?
A release date for streaming services has yet to be announced.
At the time of writing (October 13), the film is only available in cinemas from October 13, 2023 across the US, Europe and the UK. You can find out more information on screenings in the US here, and further details on UK tickets here.
Is there a trailer?
A trailer was released alongside the film’s announcement – check it out above.
“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift said.
In a five-star review of the tour, NME wrote: “Swift’s tour isn’t just about a new album, or a performance of songs her fans know and love, it’s a 17-year journey through a career fraught with massive highs and gargantuan lows, and yet here she is in front of an overflowing audience proving she can take a hit, make a hit, and not slow down.”
Arky Waters is an Australian newcomer who is crafting a unique blend of breakbeat electronica with swelling techno influences, which has a sound that can be likened to a mix between Bicep, Overmono and Godford. Just a few months ago Arky Waters treated us to a very impressive debut ep titled “Arky Sucks”, and now he’s back with a mesmerizing new single, “Take My Time.“
The single whisks you on a beautiful trip to the underground, exploring downtempo and break beat influences backed by a vibrant arrangement. Speaking to the single, Arky shares, “This song came about as a sister record to my first EP ‘Arky Sucks’. I hadn’t played live in a while and so everything I was making was a bit more geared towards home listening. I was mostly listening to music on my commutes to work and wasn’t really thinking too much about making music for clubs.”
He also adds – “Winter was approaching so I guess the cold weather also affected the mood of the track. I was heavy into all the UK breakbeat stuff that was popping off, artists like Bicep and Overmono. All that music just makes more sense in colder weather, probably because it’s super cold in the UK and I guess I was a bit closer to feeling the context of where the music was made. The way they used breakbeats was super fascinating to me and I hadn’t really touched breaks until the start of this year. There’s something incredibly human that it adds to electronic music.”
The gorgeous island country of Fiji is typically where wallets go to weep, but Your Paradise is the rare once-in-a-lifetime experience that won’t drain your bank account.
Having been there ourselves, we can attest there’s nothing in the global music market quite like Your Paradise, which encapsulates festival culture in its own unique way at the intersection of wellness and hedonism. Held annually within the stunning Mamanuca Islands of Fiji, the sublime six-day festival offers a unique blend of music, culture and natural beauty that is truly unparalleled.
However, while it’s known for attracting some of the world’s top DJs and electronic music artists, it’s also gaining a reputation for being a budget-friendly festival destination.
First off, the infrastructure of Your Paradise was developed with efficiency in mind. The oceanfront mainstage, restaurants, beaches, bungalows and everything else on the private island of Malolo Lailai are within walking distance, which means you’re saving a fortune by avoiding the upsurged Ubers and Lyfts on which you depend to get to and from festivals.
And did we mention the island itself is breathtaking? It’s known as “The Island of the Resting Sun” for a reason.

Now on to the cost of the festival itself. You can take advantage of package deals that not only provide significant savings on travel and accommodations, but also simplify the planning process.
All packages include roundtrip flights and a five-night stay on the island as well as land and sea transfers, festival passes, access to pool parties and secret afterparties, daily meditation, beach yoga sessions, traditional kava ceremonies, sustainability workshops, tree and mangrove planting, and local village visits.
Packages are divided into three categories to suit every traveller’s needs: Solo, Couples and Groups. Each one offers the option to include roundtrip flights or opt to go flightless and organize travel using your own points, slashing your final bottom line even more.
The starting price of the flightless option is $1,799 USD. To put that into perspective, the average weeklong honeymoon costs over $5,000, according to The Knot—and the majority are not in blue-chip destinations like Fiji. Moreover, a nationwide survey from Casino.org found that Americans are willing to spend $728.49 on average to attend just one dream concert, encompassing the cost of tickets, travel and accommodations.
Next are the various add-on experiences offer by Your Paradise, which simply should not be as cheap as they are. Boat parties with iconic artists like Bonobo and surf sessions at Fiji’s world-famous Cloudbreak reef only scratch the surface. Funds raised from these add-ons benefit the festival’s Mamanuca Environment Society Pledge to support the environmental protection of Fiji’s west coast.
And for a fraction of the cost of normal concert tickets, you can visit the remarkable Cloud 9, a two-level dayclub smack dab in the middle of the ocean. There exists no venue on earth as intimate as “Fiji’s Floating Paradise,” renowned artists like A-Trak, CamelPhat, Gorgon City and more have DJed.

Food, booze, merch and the other odds and ends of music festivals are not included. But those extras are available for purchase via a cash card, so if you really want to impose restrictions, you can ball on your own predetermined budget and load it with however much you’d like.
Your Paradise returns to Fiji December 10-16, 2023. The lineup for this year’s festival features Bonobo, TSHA, Koven, Qrion, Prospa, Hot Dub Time Machine and Kah-Lo, among other elite dance music artists. More will be announced in the weeks ahead.
