Taylor Swift reportedly loans Sophie Turner New York apartment amid Joe Jonas divorce

Taylor Swift has loaned Sophie Turner an apartment in New York City following her split from Joe Jonas, according to reports.

Swift, who was recently seen on a night out with the Game Of Thrones actor, is said to have temporarily allowed Turner and her two daughters to live in her New York apartment while they iron out custody arrangements.

According to Page Six, the singer keeps an apartment in Tribeca as an investment property, which she has given to Turner as a temporary residence.

Earlier this week, Turner and Jonas agreed to temporarily keep their children in New York. She previously filed a petition last week (September 21) claiming their two daughters had been “wrongfully retained” in the city from “their habitual residence of England”.

According to court documents (via NBC News), the couple agreed to an interim consent order preventing them from removing their children “from the jurisdictions of the United States District Courts for the Southern & Eastern Districts of New York” pending further order from the court.

In her original petition, Turner said the couple had agreed that Jonas would look after their two daughters in the US while on tour with his band The Jonas Brothers in July, while she filmed a new series in the UK.

Turner, who planned to return to England this month with their two daughters, claimed that Jonas refused to hand over the children’s passports when she attempted to collect them.

A representative for Jonas disputed the allegation, claiming Turner was aware of an order issued by the Florida Court that “restricts both parents from relocating their children” after he filed for divorce.

Turner and Jonas officially announced their separation on September 6 on Instagram, where they described it as a “united decision”. Swift, meanwhile, previously dated Jonas back in 2008.

A filthy blend of trap, grime and UK dubstep, the unreleased track twists the knife into the contemporary Skrillex sound. Take a listen below.

If past is prologue, there’s much more to be had in terms of unreleased Skrillex music.

The pioneering producer recently premiered “Push,” a long-awaited collaboration with Hamdi and TAICHU, on Jyoty’s radio show. He’s also been playing out a hotly anticipated track, tentatively titled “Xereca Na Vara,” which appeared in his show-stopping Coachella headline set alongside Fred again.. and Four Tet.

Another viral drop came during last weekend’s Lost Lands festival, where dubstep star INFEKT exclusively debuted a never-before-heard riddim track produced by Skrillex.

It’s unclear whether or not the collaboration with Lil Baby, Flowdan and Bibi Bourelly will appear on one of Skrillex’s upcoming albums. He has not yet revealed a title or release date at the time of writing.

“My priorities shifted so much”

Snow Patrol‘s ex-bassist Paul Wilson has opened up about his departure from the band, explaining that his “priorities shifted so much”

  • READ MORE: Snow Patrol – ‘Called Out In The Dark’ review

Earlier this month, the band’s frontman, Gary Lightbody, announced in a post on Instagram that both Wilson and drummer Jonny Quinn had “decided to leave Snow Patrol”.

He said he was “heartbroken” over the news, but told fans that the group would be continuing as a three-piece – comprising himself, Johnny McDaid and Nathan Connolly – before confirming that a new album is coming “next year”.

Things took a turn when Quinn’s wife, Mariane, left comments online that alleged that Quinn had been “fucked by you know who”.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Wilson shared that he has not heard from anyone in Snow Patrol and was happy to be able to talk about the situation as he felt like his narrative was lost and overshadowed.

“After being in this band for 20 years, and then all of a sudden there’s this salacious gossip. It’s like, ugh. This has completely ruined my moment of leaving and doing my own thing,” he said.

He continued: “I don’t really know what went down, but I’m guessing there were creative differences in the studio; I can’t imagine it was anything too crazy,” and added “I don’t have any ill feelings towards the guys.”

Wilson’s decision to exit the band was solely due to him wanting to work on his new music project, Above As Below. After deciding that he wanted to make heavier music and realising that his heart was no longer in Snow Patrol, Wilson decided to leave.

“It’s quite a tough decision to walk away from a huge entity like Snow Patrol,” he said. “But my priorities shifted so much.”

Wilson’s new music project Above As Below is the complete opposite of what he had been doing with Snow Patrol. The former bassist used his love of metal as an inspiration while creating his own music.

“I’ve done Bon Iver-style stuff, and I thought, ‘This isn’t good enough,’” he says. “It’s not authentic. And I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I love metal mostly.’ My old before, Terra Diablo, was a metal band, and I played lead guitar in Nate Mendel from Foo Fighters’ band, Lieutenant. But heavier music is what I’ve listened to,” he told Rolling Stone.

In other Snow Patrol news, the band’s seventh and most recent studio album, ‘Wildness’, came out in 2018. Earlier this year, guitarist Nathan Connolly launched a solo career and released his first record ‘The Strange Order Of Things’.

Katy Perry to appear in ‘Peppa Pig’ 20th anniversary special

Katy Perry is set to appear in the popular children’s animated TV show Peppa Pig for a 20th anniversary special.

  • READ MORE: Katy Perry – ‘Smile’ review: pop icon sounds somewhat recharged, but lacks the fireworks of old

The pop star will be voicing a new character called Ms. Leopard for an episode that’s set to feature as part of a three-part Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special, slated to premiere in spring 2024.

The character of Ms. Leopard assists with preparations for the first-ever Peppa Pig wedding between Mr. Bull and Mrs. Cow.

“We’re incredibly thrilled to have such an A-list talent join the family-fun adventures in Peppa Pig. As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is a perfect fit to voice the character of Ms. Leopard,” said Olivier Dumont, President of Hasbro Entertainment, in a statement (via Deadline).

“Reaching this brand milestone of two decades and being able to work with outstanding talent like Katy is a testament to the worldwide success of Peppa Pig and her ability to deliver entertainment no fans will want to miss.

“This is just one of the many exciting projects we have in the pipeline for fans and families to commemorate Peppa Pig’s 20th anniversary in 2024, such as live events and attractions, products and partnerships, Peppa parties all over the world and much more. Everyone’s invited to our year-long celebration.”

The announcement comes after the TV show teased “exciting news” and a “BIG surprise” on their social media yesterday (September 27).

The company also noted that “all casting and filming for Ms. Leopard were contracted and completed before the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes and are compliant with SAG-AFTRA rules”.

Peppa Pig first aired in May 2024 and has run 381 episodes, plus five specials, over the course of seven seasons.

In other news, Perry recently sold her back catalogue for $225million, which includes five of her albums released between 2008 and 2020.

YouTube is Adding AI-Powered Tools for Creators to Discover Music

YouTube has announced a number of upcoming changes to the company’s Creator Music feature.

Starting next year, the world’s leading online video sharing platform is expanding Creator Music—its catalog of licensed music that creators can use in videos without losing monetization—to allow users to leverage AI and find the right music for their videos.

The aim is to enable creators to easily access more refined results by typing simple descriptions of their videos. Creator Music will still retain most of its original features, such as presenting licensing costs for the songs that users select.

Moreover, YouTube will also be integrating an AI-dubbing tool called Aloud into YouTube Studio, TechCrunch reports. First announced in 2022, the platform represents another simplification of YouTube’s current functionality, allowing creators to quickly and efficiently dub in their own language and others. Creators are able to review and edit the transcription before the Aloud tech produces the dub.

Aloud is reportedly testing with select creators at the time of writing. The tool will launch on YouTube Studio in 2024.

Carl Cox's Luxurious New Timepiece is Limited to a Drop of Just 100

Swiss watch manufacturer ZENITH has teamed up with Carl Cox for a collaborative timepiece.

We’re told the techno legend’s new “Defy Extreme” watch features a bevy of lavish specs, including an opulent yellow-gold bezel and chronograph movement of 1/100th of a second. In a clever ode to the legendary DJ’s storied career, the timepiece also features an open dial with chronograph counters in the form of miniature vinyl records.

Cox’s luxurious timepiece does, however, come at a massive premium. The “Defy Extreme” starts at a staggering price of $30,100, so it’s more fitting for a watch collector than your average raver.

Cox’s recent ventures have been eye-popping, to say the least. In January of this year, the techno pioneer launched his own racing team under the umbrella of his Carl Cox Motorsport brand before competing in the Extreme E championship.

He then made history in May when he performed at the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You can watch footage from the dazzling set here.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard announce details of 25th album, ‘The Silver Cord’

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have revealed details of their next studio album ‘The Silver Cord’, which is set for release next month.

The album serves as the band’s 25th overall, and the follow-up to June’s ‘PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation’.

As revealed on the band’s Instagram account, the album will feature seven new songs and be released in two formats: a regular edition and an “extended edition” with longer versions of each song.

The album cover sees the sextet in matching black clothing and red teashade glasses surrounded by keyboards and synthesizers, potentially indicating a return to the electronic sound of songs like 2019’s ‘Cyboogie’.

It is not yet known if any singles will be released from the album prior to its official release on Friday, October 27. View the artwork and tracklist of ‘The Silver Cord’ via the band’s Instagram post below:

‘The Silver Cord’ will be available for pre-order from the band’s Gizzverse webstore on Thursday October 12. The European webstore can be accessed here, while the Australian one can be found here and the North American one here.

In January, the band began 2023 by releasing a nine-hour, 86-track live album entitled ‘Live At Red Rocks ’22’. ‘PetroDragonic Apocalypse’ followed in June, which was pre-empted weeks before with a performance in Tennessee where the band performed in drag in protest of the state law.

Outside of the band, several members of King Gizz have also released new music in 2023. The Murlocs – which features both Ambrose Kenny-Smith and Cook Craig – released their seventh album ‘Calm Ya Farm’ in May. Guitarist Joe Walker, meanwhile, released his second album with his solo project Bullant, ‘Late Life Circ’, on September 1.
