Korean-Australian musician DPR IAN has released a new track titled ‘So I Danced’.
The visual for the new track follows the singer as he enters a whimsical, vibrant world where he leads a heist with a faceless figure, spiralling further into insanity. In pursuit of him, however, is a masked man, who is later revealed to be another version of himself.
“I left all the water running at home / Then drove around with a car that we stole / All of a sudden they just wanted to know / How I really feel / So I just danced,” he sings in the refrain.
‘So I Danced’ is the second song DPR IAN has released from the forthcoming EP ‘Dear Insanity…’, following last month’s ‘Peanut Butter & Tears’. His sophomore EP, now available for pre-order, will be out in its entirety on October 6 at Midnight EST.
According to its official description on JB Hi-Fi, ‘Dear Insanity…’ will act as a prequel to the singer’s last two releases ‘Moodswings in This Order’ and ‘Moodswings In To Order’, which center around a character called MITO.
The upcoming record follows DPR IAN’s “journey to and throughout the dreamlike realm known as The Other Side” prior to the creation of MITO, where he slowly begins to lose his sanity.
The EP comes about 15 months after the release of his debut studio album ‘Moodswings In To Order’. Its release was accompanied by a short film directed by DPR IAN, which featured several songs from the 12-track record.
It’s the start of an exciting new chapter for DROELOE, who has finally unveiled The Art of Change, his stunning new album.
DROELOE’s first full-length body of work since he parted ways with former artistic partner Hein Hamers, The Art of Change is a deeply personal, 15-track opus exploring the complexities of the producer, composer and instrumentalist’s mind.
Playful and melodic at times, and pensive at others, The Art of Change makes for a reflective adventure through time and space. Throughout the project, voice memos from young, old and AI-generated voice actors are presented by DROELOE, serving as reminders for us to pause and reflect. Each of the album’s songs is also represented by a 360° animated “world” created by celebrated visual artist Funi.
The Art of Change is as impressive musically as it is visually, driven by frenetic percussion, vibrant sound design and unpredictable drums all throughout. Cuts like “Decision” and “Feeble Games” enchant us with their bright instrumentation while tracks like “A Current, A Void” and “Hermit” (with Emilia Ali) sublimely display DROELOE’s experimental sensibilities with their unconventional arrangements.
“Counting Ten” rounds off the journey in an anthemic and deeply emotional way while “Landscape,” a collaboration with emerging band Banji and one of the album’s highlights, comes alongside a stunning music video that features an emotive live rendition.
“This album is a collection of ideas that I find important within my own personal development,” DROELOE said in a press statement. “It is a journey to turn these ideas into songs and symbolic places, one that helps me to visit those ideas more often. I want to become a more active participant in my own growth, this album is a step in that direction.”
Just like 2020’s A Matter Of Perspective album, The Art of Change presents fans with an intricate story in classic DROELOE fashion, transcending the possibilities of a conventional auditory experience. He cites journaling as an important companion to his own self-development and urges his audience to join his journey by writing or recording their thoughts and experiences alongside him.
Take a listen to The Art of Change below.
DROELOE has launched physical journals as merch to accompany The Art of Change and shared some of his personal essays on his website, which help further paint the album’s philosophical universe. There, fans can also write a message to themselves which will be sent back to them in a year, helping them track their own personal development.
To celebrate the release of The Art of Change, DROELOE is embarking on a tour across select cities in the U.S. with support from demotapes, NASAYA and Dylan C. Greene. He is also joining San Holo as direct support for a leg of his upcoming “Existential Dance Music” tour.

Last night (September 14), Netflix announced the release date for the forthcoming seventh season of the hit puberty-themed animated comedy series, confirming in a new teaser that Megan Thee Stallion will play a version of herself in the show.
The teaser trailer kicks off with a set of lips in the sky which open to reveal a Hormone Monster voiced by Megan. Connie the Hormone Monster (voiced by Maya Rudolph) says: “Sweet salami in a pair of stilettos, is that Megan Thee Stallion?” In response, Megan quips “it’s a big motherfucking deal they got me on the show,” before adding: “I ain’t gonna lie, it’s getting real sexy.”
The show is then confirmed for an October 20 release. It will serve as the penultimate season of Nick Kroll’s comedy series on the streaming platform.
While the extent of Megan Thee Stallion’s role in season seven has yet to be revealed, Netflix has also confirmed that other guest stars appearing throughout the 10-episode season include Lupita Nyong’o, Billy Porter, and more.

The sixth season of Big Mouth premiered last year and featured Tyler, The Creator guest starring to voice Jesus. In the cameo, Tyler as Jesus speaks to a teenage boy who was worried about dancing with a girl without also leaving room for Christ.
He responded: “I didn’t even make that rule up! These white people made that up ’cause they couldn’t dance. They wanted everybody to suffer.” “Ok!” the boy said. “Let’s dance without leaving room for my saviour!”
Megan Thee Stallion most recently reunited with rapper Cardi B earlier this week on the 2023 MTV VMAs stage, bringing their latest collaboration ‘Bongos’ to New Jersey.
Last month, the ‘Savage’ rapper addressed her “haters” after Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting her. During her set at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco, California, Megan criticised those who have accused her of lying about the shooting.

Since then, Elderbook has issued a series of his beloved “Chill Mixes,” softer takes on tracks from his latest album, as well as a recent collaborative single in “Good Life.”
Elderbrook, among many other notable dance music acts, will tend decks at this year’s Imagine Music Festival in Kingston Downs, Georgia. Searows has shared his newest single ‘I Have More Than Enough’ from his forthcoming EP ‘End Of The World’.
Kentucky-born, Oregon-raised musician Searows – real name Alec Duckart – explained that the track was written in one day after feeling uninspired for a while.
“I wrote and recorded most of this song in one day after walking around outside for the first time in weeks,” he said in a press release. “I had spent so many days in a row alone in my room working on songs I felt increasingly uninspired by.”
He continued: “I was walking laps around my house, feeling very weird and then I remembered I could be doing the same thing outside so I took a walk around my neighbourhood. I sat with some cats and watched a crow for a while.
“I ended up stopping every few steps on my way home to write random thoughts down in my notes app and when I got back I wrote this song and then recorded it. It was one of the fastest songs I’ve written and still felt good about. Shockingly enough, going outside makes you feel less like you are going crazy.”
His EP, ‘End Of The World’, is set for release on November 10 via Last Recordings On Earth, a new label launched by Matt Maltese in association with Communion Records.
‘End Of The World’ track list is:
1. ‘Older’ 2.’I Have More Than Enough’ 3.’Collector’ 4.’Funny’ 5.’End Of The World’ 6.’I Can And I Will’
Elsewhere, searows will be hitting the road as opening support for Gracie Abrams during the UK and EU leg of her ‘Good Riddance’ tour. Visit here for tickets and check out the full dates below.
Two plaintiffs have filed a class action lawsuit against the organizers of Electric Zoo 2023, Rolling Stonereports.
Following the contentious cancellation of the electronic music festival’s opening day on Randall’s Island due to “global supply chain disruptions,” its third and final day was plagued by capacity concerns. After organizers released a midday statement announcing they were denying entry to the grounds, videos of ticket-holders storming the festival’s gates flooded social media.
Electric Zoo in 2022 was purchased by the investment group behind Brooklyn hotspot Avant Gardner for $15 million. In the wake of this year’s festival, the NYPD ultimately confirmed the consortium oversold passes by roughly 7,000.
Plaintiffs Nicole Brockmole and Lauren Bair, who reportedly filed the lawsuit Wednesday in a New York district court, were two of the thousands of pass-holders who were barred from entering the festival’s grounds. Citing “deceptive acts,” their suit seeks damages on behalf of “all affected patrons who paid for ticket(s) for access or entry to [Electric Zoo] were not granted access.”
“In addition to Friday’s cancellation, and perhaps more egregiously, things turned worse for Electric Zoo fans on Sunday when they were left to languish in heatwave for hours after being greeted by never ending lines to enter the festival and eventually denied entry because the venue was oversold and overcrowded,” the suit states, per Rolling Stone.
Roughly 88,000 people attended Electric Zoo in 2023, according to the NYPD. Organizers said they plan to issue full refunds to holders of the festival’s Friday ticket as well as those who were denied entry on Sunday.
Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch has announced details of his debut novel.
Described as “part memoir and part fiction,” Nobody’s Empire follows a lead character named Stephen with the same chronic fatigue syndrome as Murdoch himself. It will be released in September 2024.
“I drifted into writing Nobody’s Empire,” Murdoch said in a statement. “It felt like the right time to tell this story in long-form, even though I have been singing about it for years. I imagined I was writing it for the ME/CFS community and as the book went on it became more important to me, gaining a life of its own.
“I needed it as much as it needed me and I leant heavily on it for solace. Therefore, when it was picked up by Faber for publication, I was elated and very relieved. Hopefully, this is the start of a beautiful relationship!”
Bloody delighted to be a f..f..Faber author! We will polish the book up for you in time for next year, get some nice art work done too.😊 https://t.co/ROzRp31C1C
Earlier this year, Belle & Sebastian cancelled their American tour, citing Murdoch’s health.
The statement read: “Hi folks. It’s Stuart from Belle and Sebastian here. We are sorry to have to announce the cancellation of our North American tour for 2023.
“As you might be aware my health took a dive around November 2022. While I am hoping that I will improve over the coming months, we felt it would be a safer route to cancel this tour and leave a clear path to recovery, rather than take a risk and have to cancel at the last minute.
“We had a great plan in place, to release our second LP in six months and hit America up again! While the record made it out, we’re going to have to wait a bit longer until we can tour it. We apologise again for the inconvenience we have caused you. Sincerely yours, Stuart.”
At the start of 2023, the band announced details of a surprise new album, ‘Late Developers’, and shared the single ‘I Don’t Know What You See In Me’. It’s the Scottish indie veterans’ 12th studio album and was released on January 13.
Arriving just eight months after their last record ‘A Bit Of Previous’, Murdoch recently told NME that ‘Late Developers’ was born of the same sessions in the band’s native Glasgow in 2021. After plans for to record in Los Angeles were abandoned due to the coronavirus pandemic, the group converted their rehearsal space into a COVID-safe makeshift studio. Murdoch explained how after the downtime of lockdown, he entered sessions for ‘A Bit of Previous’ “with about 30 songs”.
The resonance of Kiraw’s performances is nothing short of hypnotic. His vocals, simultaneously soothing and saturated with dark undertones, effortlessly meld with the weighty soundscapes of his tracks. It’s no wonder that his music has found a fervent following within the gym and raver communities, drawing attention like wildfire.
“XTC,” a song entirely written, performed, and produced by Kiraw, stands as a testament to his innovation. This track elevates the Techno genre to new heights by merging aggressive, distorted basslines typically found in rave bunker events with razor-sharp lyrics delivered in a whisper-like style. It’s a musical ASMR experience that defies expectations and works exceptionally well within the powerful genre.
The impact of “XTC” is evident in its presence on viral charts across the globe, from Germany to Denmark, Belgium to Romania, and beyond. Kiraw’s artistry knows no bounds, and his journey began in 2018, steadily gaining momentum through collaborations with the likes of NightLovell and Scarlxrd. As a pioneer of the “Techno/House Phonk” movement, Kiraw has earned a well-deserved place in the spotlight, catching the eye of major labels and securing a bright future in the music industry. Keep an ear out for Kiraw; he’s an artist destined for greatness.
