Metallica had a four-legged fan join them at their recent ‘M72′ world tour gig in California – with the band sharing a story of a dog watching the entire show after running away from home.
After escaping its home which was located near the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the dog – whose name is Storm – made its way into the venue and caught the band’s full 16-song set of their show on August 27. Storm was able to enjoy the band’s hits such as ‘Whiplash’, ‘One’ and ‘Enter Sandman’.
The metal icons then took to their official social media pages to explain the adorable situation and shared a photo of Storm who was sitting in one of the venue’s seats. “You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA! Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to SoFi Stadium and made her way to the gig all by herself,” they tweeted.
You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA! Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to @SoFiStadium and made her way to the gig all by herself.
They continued: “After a full night taking in the show with her #MetallicaFamily, Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day.”
Metallica even had fun sharing some dog-friendly renamed tracks in their tweet adding: “She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including ‘Barx Æterna’, ‘Master Of Puppies’ and ‘The Mailman That Never Comes’. And in case you were wondering, no. You definitely shouldn’t bring your furry friends to the #M72 World Tour. But this dog sure did have her day…”
In other news, Clips of Jason Momoa entering the mosh pit at a recent Metallica and Pantera concert have surfaced on the internet.
The actor, best known for his roles in Game Of Thrones, Aquaman and Fast X, has been a longtime metalhead, and got the chance to meet Metallica during their concert at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday (August 25) and again on Sunday (August 27).
In a clip obtained by Stereogum, Momoa can be seen exclaiming “These fuckers opened with ‘Whilplash’!” before running into the crowd to join a circle pit as Metallica kicked off their set on Sunday.

The organizers of Electric Zoo have cancelled the first day of their 2023 festival.
The announcement arrived just hours before the festival’s doors were scheduled to open. Electric Zoo’s organizers cited supply chain issues, which they say hindered their ability to construct the festival’s main stage on time.
“Sharing this tough news is honestly heartbreaking,” reads a statement shared on the festival’s social media. “We feel the weight of the disappointment and frustration, and we’re so sorry to let our Electric Zoo family down.”

Artists scheduled to perform today included The Chainsmokers, Adventure Club, Kx5 (Kaskade and deadmau5), Excision and EDM.com Class of 2022 star ACRAZE, among many others.
“It is with a broken heart that we deeply regret to inform you that, despite our tireless efforts and round-the-clock commitment, we have made the painful decision to cancel the first day of Electric Zoo,” organizers added. “This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unexpected delays have prevented us from completing the construction of the main stage in time for Day 1.”
Electric Zoo 2023 is set to continue on Saturday and Sunday as scheduled. Organizers will be providing a full refund for holders of the festival’s Friday ticket. Those with multiple-day tickets will receive credit for one of Electric Zoo’s days.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year—Electric Zoo.
Following Avant Gardner‘s acquisition of New York promoter Made Event and its Labor Day Weekend festival in 2022, this year’s installment of the annual event is arguably its most anticipated yet. EZoo, as it’s colloquially known, will welcome a robust bustle of dance music’s most-talked-about producers over the course of the weekend and, perhaps most notably, The MegaMirage, a new and immersive stage that’ll bring a piece of Brooklyn to Randall’s Island. Complete with its own dedicated entrance and exit on the EZoo grounds (no separate ticket is required for entry), the festival’s fifth stage advances the attendee experience, offering something different for long-time EZoo goers and first-time ticket holders alike.
Afterparties are EZoo tradition and, as in past years, fans can take their pick of the litter of genre-diverse festival follow-ups that’ll keep all in attandance dancing into the wee hours of the morning. As for the roster? As always, we’ve got you covered:

Niall Horan has announced extra dates for the UK and Ireland leg of his upcoming tour, supporting his Number One album ‘The Show’.
Earlier this year, the ex-One Direction star announced a full world tour to celebrate the his new record. The tour will be Niall’s biggest yet and first headline run since 2018’s ‘Flicker Sessions’ world tour.
“My favourite thing in the world is being on tour,” he said. “Performing my songs for my fans and sharing those incredible moments together are the reason why I write music in the first place.”
He continued: “There’s nothing better than watching the crowd sing back to you, with all that emotion on their faces and knowing that they’re attaching the song to something meaningful in their own lives. To me, that’s always the greatest thing that can ever come from songwriting.”

Can’t believe I’m saying this but the response to The Show Live On Tour 2024 has been so mind blowing that I’m adding more shows in the UK and Ireland
In other news, this week, unseen footage of One Direction performing for Simon Cowell and Sinitta has been released. In the video, the group sang Kelly Clarkson‘s ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ before being told that they’d made it through to the live shows.
In June, Niall Horan said that One Direction are still close because “they never believed in the hype.” Months prior, he even went as far as to confirm that he sends his unreleased music to his former bandmates Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles to comment on.
Album title aside, rest assured that RL Grime didn’t come to PLAY on his third studio album, the awaited answer to 2018’s NOVA. The proof is in “Around Me,” a high-octane preview from RUSH, which comprises one of the LP’s three separate parts.
RUSH, As “Around Me” intimates, will provide the setting for RL Grime to foray into a space rich with deep house and techno influence, peppered with futuristic breaks. “Around Me,” the skittering third single from PLAY, embodies the fresh, forward-thinking flair that will distinguish RUSH from its peers, with Grime’s characteristically squeaky clean sound design to boot. Jaunty and agile, the track breaks down into the polished madness that listeners have come to expect from RL Grime—and with good reason.
Fellow PLAY pieces, APEX and GRID, will round out the LP, conferring a unique, concept-guided structure to what ranks as one of dance music’s most-anticipated projects this year. The former will provide a walloping hit of adrenaline while the latter gear shifts, drifting into an anthemic, collaboration-heavy format fashioned for singalongs.
As the days leading up to PLAY‘s September 15 release dwindle, “Around Me” is now streaming. The latest jewel in the album’s rollout preludes the Halloween producer’s 14-date United States tour, kicking off in San Diego on October 26. Tickets are available for purchase on Grime’s website.
Tim Burgess has announced that Tim’s Twitter Listening Party will be coming to an end after three years.
Created by The Charlatans frontman in March 2020, the listening parties featured invited artists who would go on to Tweet along track-by-track to provide insight on new and classic albums. This was in response to the first national lockdown and since then, there have been hundreds of instalments and two books about the popular online events.
Due to the series’ success, Burgess was able to take the Listening Parties to Absolute Radio for six weeks, which began in March of this year. Speaking of the opportunity, Absolute Radio’s Content Director, Paul Sylvester said: “Tim’s Listening Party has become a phenomenon. Giving audiences the chance to listen to the music and conversation while engaging with other fans on social media ties everything together.”

He added: “It fits perfectly with Absolute Radio’s specialist and storytelling strategy, and we can’t wait to work with Tim to get the show on-air.”
Taking to his official Twitter/X page, Burgess announced the end of his much loved series. He tweeted: “From Some Friendly to Wham! The Listening Party X/Twitter account reposted the tweet and quoted it with a caption that read: “The end of an incredible era.”
Fans immediately took to X/Twitter to share some heartwarming tributes to the series. One user tweeted: “In years to come, when everyone says Twitter was a hell hole of bellicose belligerence, those who enjoyed being part of the @LlSTENlNG_PARTY will be able to testify that there were some moments of greatness too. Thanks for bringing us togetherc @Tim_Burgess.”
Another shared: “It’s easy to forget just how much of a lifeline Tim Burgess’s Twitter Listening Parties were at the height of lockdown,” with a Twitter/X thread of some of the series’ highlights. Check out more tributes to the Listening Party below.

It was wonderful to be part of such a positive concept, which helped so many people through a difficult time during lockdown. Thank you to all involved and for including the Humanist records. Much love 🖤 @LlSTENlNG_PARTY@Tim_Burgesshttps://t.co/LB4qgYsAvi
Ah, what a shame. The two I did were great fun and certainly helpful in getting word of the albums out there. The ‘Wide, Wide River’ one especially (during lockdown) had a true community feel to it that felt most valued. Thank-you very much for allowing me / us to be part of it x https://t.co/OSUNbwA9Nn
Such an important, therapeutic escape, especially over lockdown, discovered so much about music we love and new music as well. Proud to have been a tiny part of it with the listening party for our first album 🙂 .Thank you @LlSTENlNG_PARTY ! https://t.co/uimAWK74NW
In other news, Burgess recently joined Johnny Marr on stage at his Halifax show to cover ‘Getting Away With It’ together.
“We’re going to play a disco song from Manchester, from the Haçienda,” Marr told the crowd.
“What’s even better,” he added, “we’re going to be joined by my friend – he’s a national treasure – Mr Tim Burgess from The Charlatans.” After the show, Burgess shared footage of the collaboration and called it “such a thrill”.
Rising dubstep phenomenon Shockpoint has landed on Megalodon’s Bypass Audio imprint with his debut EP, Into Nothing.
Shockpoint merges his traditional music education with a DIY, experimental approach that keeps his audience on the edge of their seats. Characterized by punchy basses and cinematic sound design, his distinctive and decimating sound has garnered support from standouts like Hard Tooth Records, Hybrid Trap and UZ’s Quality Goods Records.
Spanning five impressive tracks, Into Nothing tests the boundaries of bass music while taking listeners on a sonic adventure that combines stentorian production with ruthless drops, each of which are replete with unrelenting energy.
Shockpoint kicks off the project with “Exordium,” which serves as the perfect introductory track to his heavy-hitting universe. “Neuromorph” then takes the energy up a notch, effortlessly transitioning from an eerie, futuristic ambiance to an ear-splitting dubstep drop.
“Whiplash” weaves in subtle trap elements and infectious melodies while “Intercept” (a collaboration with Frantik) might arguably make for one of Shockpoint’s most impressive and technically pristine productions to date. Meanwhile, the titular “Into Nothing” completes the EP with a bona fide stunner, seeing Shockpoint delve into drum & bass with a masterful banger.
Take a listen to Into Nothing below and find it on streaming platforms here.
Blink-182 have announced that they are cancelling a number of their upcoming shows in the UK and Ireland due to “an urgent family matter”.
The run of UK tour dates was due to kick off today (September 1) with a show in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, and see them later play in Belfast and Dublin next week (September 4 -5). However, according to a new update on the band’s X/Twitter page, all upcoming September tour dates will now be rescheduled as drummer Travis Barker has been forced to return home.
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the post read. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”
The pop-punk trio still have dates in London, Birmingham and Manchester scheduled for October.
Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.
The band were already in the UK, with guitarist Tom DeLonge sharing images to social media of his arrival in Glasgow.
The long-awaited shows were set to be the trio’s first UK and Ireland performances since Tom DeLonge returned to the pop-punk line-up. It remains unclear when rescheduled tour dates for the affected concerts will be announced, although it seems likely that these should be announced soon as the band have not yet provided any refund details for ticket holders.
At time of writing, all upcoming concerts in the UK across October – including two back-to-back nights at London’s O2 Arena – are set to take place as scheduled. Further details on the family incident remain unclear.
Unfortunately for fans, this is not the first time that highly-anticipated Blink-182 shows have been forced to be rescheduled.
Back in March this year, the reformed line-up were set to play the opening shows of their comeback tour across South America and Mexico, however, these were soon postponed after Barker suffered repeated injuries to a finger.
Instead, the trio played together for the first time since reforming one month later, at this year’s edition of Coachella.

DeLonge – who rejoined the band in 2022 after a seven-year absence –teased fans with the announcement by sharing an image of a teleprompter onstage, which read lyrics from their hit 2000 track, ‘Family Reunion’.
“See you at Coachella on Friday 6:30 pm Sahara Tent,” he wrote, also tagging the band’s account.
The announcement of the postponed UK and Ireland dates arrives following the frontman revealing that their upcoming album is “only weeks (days) away”. Currently, a firm release date for the LP has yet to be revealed, although DeLonge did recently tell fans that the upcoming project is set to be their “best album” yet.
The band’s remaining UK tour dates are below:
