Watch the Stunning Music Video for Apashe's Menacing Single, "Revenge of the Orchestra"

When it comes to innovation, you can always count on Apashe to bring something new to the table. He’s connected with Nigerian MC Magugu for a blistering new single, “Revenge of the Orchestra,” out now via Kannibalen Records.

Apashe’s ingenious production and visual direction have landed him among dance music’s most revered creatives. 2020’s Renaissance album was a revelation, carving an entirely new lane amongst his contemporaries thanks to its cinematic panache. He’s now gearing up for a brand-new album, Antagonist, which will feature “Revenge of the Orchestra.”

The new single perfectly encapsulates Apashe’s wildly unique sound. Its beautifully written string elements are performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, adding layers of depth unseen in most electronic music. Combined with pounding percussion, industrial synths and Magugu’s distinct pidgin-style rap, this might just be one of Apashe’s best releases yet.

Check out the “Revenge of the Orchestra” music video below and stream the track here.

Watch ‘Head’ from Korn star in furniture commercial

Brian ‘Head’ Welch of Korn is the unlikely star of a new furniture commercial – watch it below.

In the new social media advert for Furniture City in his hometown of Bakersfield, California, the Korn guitarist conducts a tour around the store and admires beds, dining sets and lounge areas.

The shop captioned their video on social media as an “exclusive tour” by the “one & only” Welch.

“What’s up everybody. My name is Brian ‘Head’ Welch, I play in a rock band called Korn, and I am here at Furniture City in my hometown of Bakersfield, California,” the metal musician says in the clip, before he tries out a bed and sofa while commenting on the various good on offer.

“This reminds me of Vegas,” he says while marvelling at a couch and elaborate lighting fixture. “But the thing I like about Furniture City is Vegas will break the bank – Furniture City will not.”

Watch it below.

News of another, slightly less unexpected, Korn brand collab was revealed last month, as the band are finally set to partner with Adidas.

The Korn x Adidas collab will include two pairs of sneakers – the Campus 00s and the Supermodified – along with seven pieces of apparel, as per an internal document viewed by Complex.

Korn band members often wore Adidas clothing in the 1990s, including frontman Jonathan Davis who wore full striped tracksuits on stage and in promotional pictures.

In 1997, the band released the song ‘A.D.I.D.A.S.’, appearing to play on the myth that the brand name stands for “all day I dream about sex”.

Meanwhile, back in February Korn surprised their fans by releasing new EP, ‘Requiem Mass’. It came almost a year to the day that Korn released their last album ‘Reqiuem‘.

Reviewing ‘Requiem’ last year, NME said: “It would be a push to call this Korn’s first ‘happy’ album. More accurately, ‘Requiem’ has brought something new to a discography that, until now, has been an exploration of human suffering. It’s led to the band’s most nuanced record to date.”

BIJOU and Drezo Team Up for Massive New Collab “Goons”

We finally have the long awaited BIJOU and Drezo collab we’ve all been waiting for. “Goons” is the perfect blend of both producers’ styles. It’s got all the darkness of a Drezo song, but has that funky rhythm of a BIJOU song. These two artists go way back to their days in Arizona, so this is a fitting collab.

Back with the jump off…”Goons” wastes no time getting into it, with that funky Drezo rhythm setting the tone. The track starts to expand on the back end of this first rhythm section, the synths build up until they are one with the beat. If the second drop doesn’t get your rear end shaking, I don’t know what to tell you. “Goons” is a serious dancefloor heater that is sure to ignite any house party.

Check out the latest from BIJOU x Drezo, “Goons” out now on DND Records.

Space Laces, Eptic and SVDDEN DEATH Revealed as Supergroup Behind Mysterious Festival Headliner, Masterhand

Break out the neck-braces because three titans of bass music are officially joining forces.

The recent advent of Masterhand led to a puzzling period for fans of SVDDEN DEATH and his VOYD alias, who earlier this month announced the 2023 lineup of his curated music festival, Summoning of the Eclipse. Bewildered fans had been clamoring to find out who exactly was behind the anonymous headlining act.

Many believed it was a duo consisting of VOYD and Rezz, who cryptically teased a collaborative performance back in May. However, Masterhand today revealed themselves as a supergroup comprising Space Laces, Eptic and SVDDEN DEATH, three of the most innovative producers in the electronic music space.

The scary part? Fans attending this year’s Summoning of the Eclipse festival are in for more than just a rare B3B set.

According to Eptic, the trio have produced 15 new tracks ahead of Masterhand’s live debut, which will go down in the eerie subterranean caves of the Caverns in Tennessee.

The next Summoning of the Eclipse festival is scheduled for October 13-15, 2023. Joining Masterhand are Apashe, Dubloadz, HOL!, Kai Wachi, Aweminus and a highly anticipated B2B set from Bro Safari and Kill The Noise, among others.

You can check out the full lineup below and purchase tickets here.

Yungblud opens up about being molested as a child ahead of new single ‘Hated’

Yungblud has revealed he was molested by a doctor ahead of the release of his new single ‘Hated’ tomorrow (August 24).

In a social media post, the singer, real name Dominic Harrison, said the incident took place when he was seven years old. He said he had never told anyone until he admitted it to his producer while writing ‘Hated’, which he described as “the most personal thing I’ve ever released”.

“when i was seven years old i was molested by a doctor. i never told anyone until i told my producer when this song started to come out,” he began. “this is the most personal song i’ve ever released. that’s not to say it’s soft or gentle. far from it.

“it’s a rallying cry and an exposition of the soul.”

He continued: “the song is ultimately about freeing yourself from bad experiences and trauma. finding inner strength. acknowledging your past, accepting the pain and having the courage not to let it define your future.

“You’ve got to kill somebody to be somebody to be who you want to be. You’ve got to hit rock bottom and live through all of the shit nobody believes. You’ve got to hurt some people but first some people will thirst on watching you bleed. And that’s when you know that you’ve made it. When you’re hated.”

‘Hated’ is the follow-up to Yungblud’s recent single ‘Lowlife’, which he previously said represents the start of his “new era”.

The singer shared the music video for the single earlier this month, which sees him walk the streets of Camden Town with his younger self in tow.

“I wanted to make something that looked like emo Shameless or St Trinians on acid. As I was writing the song, I was visualising the video in my head, it literally helped me get the words down on paper,” he said.

“I knew it had to be shot in Camden Town and I wanted to be walking side by side with my younger self, guiding him through a fucked up world based on real memories and people I have encountered in my life. Almost a message to myself saying that life doesn’t always have to be so deep and there is beauty to be found in chaos and opportunity in disaster.”

Mitski shares two new songs and announces intimate acoustic UK and European shows

Mitski has released two new songs, ‘Star’ and ‘Heaven’, and announced a run of intimate UK and European shows.

The two new tracks are taken from her upcoming album ‘The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We’, which will come out on September 15 via Dead Oceans. Last month, the artist released the album’s lead single, ‘Bug Like An Angel’.

Per a press release, ‘Star’ and ‘Heaven’ were originally conceived years ago, and were repeatedly altered before the release of their final iterations.

Check out the lyric videos for the two tracks below:

Mitski has also announced that she will be giving the songs from ‘The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We’ the acoustic treatment at a series of intimate shows across the UK and Europe in October.

The pre-sale for the tour begins on September 7 before general sale commences the following day. Those who pre-order ‘The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We’ are guaranteed pre-sale access.

You can see the full list of tour dates below:

OCTOBER
7 – Edinburgh, Queens Hall
9 – Manchester, Albert Hall
11 – London, Union Chapel
14 – Berlin, Babylon
16 – Utrecht, Tivolivredenberg
20 – Paris, Le Trianon

In a recent statement to fans, Mitski said that she had re-negotiated her contract with her label and wants to make more music in the future, having hinted at a potential retirement in the past.

“There are a lot of things about working in the music industry, and about being in the public eye, that feels like it goes against my nature,” she began.

“I think you all might have seen me struggle with it, from time to time! But I am also in a miraculously lucky position, to be able to make music with resources and time, and to have an audience like you who give me the opportunity to perform. Ultimately, I recognised that I really want to keep making music, and I’m willing to take the difficult stuff with the wonderful stuff — like any job, or relationship, or worthwhile thing in life.”

She added: “So I renegotiated my contract with my label, and decided to keep making records. Thank you so much for your patience and support while I found my way here. I love you!”

Mitski’s previous album ‘Laurel Hell’ was named NME‘s 21st best album of 2022, with Rhian Daly praising Mitski for putting “her relationship with her status in the spotlight under a microscope, deftly analysing the intersection of art and self-worth with the sharpness of the titular tool in ‘Working For The Knife’”.
