On the So Far So Good continuum, the spongy, future-bass-inflected single sits nearer to “iPad” than it does “Excessive,” although it occupies a perch of its personal. Whereas hints of The Chainsmokers’ 2014-2016 type permeated “iPad,” “Riptide” feels decidedly rooted in 2022, a interval of mature and evolving—but acquainted—Chainsmokers sound.
