Billie Eilish says she “cried out of joy” when watching her documentary

Billie Eilish has shared her reaction to watching her upcoming documentary for the first time, saying she “cried out of joy”.

The teen pop star’s life and career so far will be opened up to her fans later this month with the arrival of the Apple TV+ documentary The World’s A Little Blurry.

In a new clip promoting the upcoming film, Eilish spoke about the experience of watching the documentary for the first time. “We were in my living room,” she said. “I was like, ‘Nope, nobody’s allowed to see it – not my family – nobody’s allowed to see it until I’ve seen it, cos I knew there was some stuff in there that I was gonna be mortified by.”

“Shit happened. I had a stomachache the entire day, but I cried out of joy for a lot of it. I never would have thought that anyone would be able to capture exactly what was going on in such a beautiful, intimate way.”

The World’s A Little Blurry was directed by R.J. Cutler and will premiere on Apple TV+ on February 26.

Last month, the pop star spoke about making the film, saying: “It’s really about my life, me, in such a way that I was not expecting, and was pretty brutal to relive,” she said in a new interview. I was going through hell in certain parts of my life, and I had no idea anyone was seeing it. The fact that they have footage of it and you can see my emotions…”

She went on to compare it to one of her favourite TV shows. “It’s like, I can’t help but think about the last episode of The Office when Erin was like, ‘How did you do it? How did you really get how we felt and what we were doing? How did you do it?” she said.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this month (February 5) that Eilish was in talks to serve as an executive producer on an upcoming biopic about Peggy Lee.

Fever will be helmed by Carol director Todd Haynes and will star Michelle Williams as Lee.

Dave Grohl reveals he once turned down becoming Tom Petty’s drummer

Dave Grohl has revealed that he turned down becoming Tom Petty‘s drummer because it would have been too “sad” to sit behind the kit so soon after Kurt Cobain‘s death.

  • READ MORE: Foo Fighters: “Our connection is beyond music”

Appearing on The Howard Stern Show on Friday (February 12), the Foo Fighters frontman recalled performing with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on an episode of Saturday Night Live in 1994 – just months after Cobain died.

“We had so much fun and we all got along so well,” Grohl remembered of the collaboration, explaining that he was confused as to why he’d been asked as Petty “could get a world-class drummer – like any dude”.

Asked if he took Petty’s request to become his permanent drummer seriously, Grohl replied: “We played SNL and afterwards he was like, ‘Man, that was good. It would be a shame if that’s the only time we do it’ sort of thing.

“And then he called me at home and he’s like, ‘Well look, if you want… here’s how we do it: you get your own bus and we don’t tour too hard’. He was kind of explaining like, ‘If you’re into it, come out and do it for a little while’.”

However, Grohl explained that he had just started out with Foo Fighters at that time, “and I just felt weird about going right back to the drums, because it would have just reminded me of being in Nirvana.”

He added: “It would have been sad, for me personally. It would have been an emotional thing to be behind the drumset every night and not have Kurt there.

“So I was like, ‘Nah, fuck it. I’m gonna try this other thing’.”

You can watch the full clip above.

Earlier this month, Foo Fighters covered Tom Petty’s ‘Honey Bee’ during a radio session in promotion of their new album ‘Medicine At Midnight’.

Released last Friday (February 5), the Foos’ 10th studio effort became the band’s fifth UK Number One album.

Sia claims Shia LaBeouf is a “sick puppy” amid abuse allegations

Sia has described Shia LaBeouf as a “sick puppy” amid FKA Twigs‘ recent allegations of abuse against the actor.

Twigs (real name is Tahliah Barnett) filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf in December, accusing him of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress over the course of their relationship, which lasted just over one year.

Shortly after Barnett went public, Sia accused LaBeouf of being a “pathological liar” who “conned” her into an adulterous relationship. The singer also shared her support for Twigs, writing: “This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.”

LaBeouf’s legal team denied “each and every allegation” levelled at the actor earlier this week (February 10).

Speaking in a new interview with The Sunday Times, Sia gave more details on her past relationship with the LaBeouf, revealing that she feels like she will “always love” him.

“It turns out he was using the same lines on me and Twigsy, and eventually we found out because we ended up talking to one another,” she claimed. “Both of us thought we were singly dating him.

“But that wasn’t the case. And he was still married.”

The Austrian singer-songwriter went on to say that the actor “wanted to marry me and live a sober life” together.

“I feel like I’m always gonna love him because he’s such a sick puppy,” she added.

Barnett responded to Sia’s initial comments about LaBeouf on Twitter in December, writing: “I’m sorry [Sia] this reinforces why I had to publicly share my experience. We need to support each other <3.”

Last month, Twigs opened up about her experience on Louis Theroux’s Grounded podcast, explaining that she wanted to speak out “because it is something in society that’s a really big problem and it’s really common, but for some reason, we don’t talk about it”.

She added: “People often ask the victim or survivor, ‘Why didn’t you leave?’, instead of asking the abuser, ‘Why are you holding someone hostage through abusive behaviour?’

“It’s a fair question for you to ask me, but it puts a lot on me. It puts a lot on victims and survivors.”

Weeks after Twigs first accused LaBeouf of abuse, his lawyer said the actor was looking to enter a rehab facility to address his addiction and psychological issues.

Deathpact assigns REAPER remix duties for ‘ID’ campaign roll-out – Dancing Astronaut Deathpact assigns REAPER remix duties for ‘ID’ campaign roll-out

In a fated meeting between two masked enigmas, Deathpact and REAPER cross paths as the latter leads a growing list of heavyweight contributors to the former’s exhilarating remix campaign. Reverse engineering a typical release rollout, the anonymous force known as Deathpact ramps up the anticipation for their never-before-heard original with four sets of remixes from Code Orange, Claude VonStroke, CloZee, and REAPER.

REAPER’s synergistic assignment on the unidentified electronic project’s upcoming release is an obvious choice—both fast-rising acts possessing similar career trajectories and lethal sound design. The Monstercat favorite applies his scything drum ‘n’ bass tactile to his rendition, which stops at nothing to incite blistering bass across its anarchic soundscape. His pick on the remix collection among the ranks of industry staples further instates REAPER is indeed an Artist to Watch in 2021.

Queen’s Roger Taylor urges everyone to get the coronavirus vaccine

Queen‘s Roger Taylor has urged everyone to get the coronavirus vaccine in a new social media post.

The drummer took to Instagram yesterday (February 13) to encourage people to get vaccinated, saying those who choose to not receive the shot should not “expect the services” of the NHS.

“As they become available, everyone should have a vaccine,” Taylor wrote. “Those who refuse to have a vaccine and subsequently become ill from Covid, thereby putting other lives at risk, cannot expect the services of the glorious and under pressure NHS. PLEASE have a vaccine.”

Taylor’s message comes after more than 14 million people in the UK have had at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to BBC News.

A quarter of UK adults have already received one dose it’s been reported, including around nine in 10 over-70s, with the overall uptake of the vaccine high, with a 93% take-up rate among the over-75s in England.

Last week, Queen and Adam Lambert yet again rescheduled their forthcoming UK tour and added some new dates.

The band were set to head out on a huge UK and European tour last summer, but the jaunt was rescheduled to May – July 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

But the dates have now been rescheduled to 2022 kicking off with two shows at the AO Arena Manchester on May 30 and 31. Queen have also added two extra UK shows at The SSE Hydro, Glasgow on June 2 and 3.

Meanwhile, Taylor has addressed the prospect of a Bohemian Rhapsody sequel once more, admitting that it’s unlikely to happen.

The big-screen take on the band’s career hit cinemas in November 2018 and became the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time, raking in more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

It also netted Rami Malek, who portrayed the late Freddie Mercury, an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Imanbek & Rita Ora Release Joint EP “Bang” with David Guetta and A Short Film

Imanbek has seen insane growth over the past year, since releasing his remix of SAINt JHN’s “Roses” and going incredibly viral on TikTok, to the point the song now has over 1 billion streams on Spotify, nearly 20x more than his next most-streamed song. But not content to rest on his laurels, he just dropped Bang, a joint EP with Rita Ora spanning four tracks, including a collaboration with David Guetta & Gunna.

According to the press release, Rita reached out to people whose work she was excited by, starting with Imanbek whose “Roses” remix caught her attention.

He emailed some rough demos and beats; she built up from those, and as they went back and forth, he emerged as the primary creative partner for Bang. “Everything I did, I ran through Imanbek,” she says. “What I really found special about this process was that I grew up with albums that were bodies of work, made with one producer and one artist where it felt like they were living and breathing together—Aaliyah and Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell. I’ve always loved that, because it feels very genuine and committed and focused, and I think that shows in the music.”

Bang was Rita’s opportunity to evolve and leave her own comfort zone, a chance to explore and connect with other musicians in new ways. “It’s imperative that artists grow and create new pathways that are true to their artistic vision,” she says. “One of the best ways to do that is to work with others who challenge you and bring a different perspective, genre even or language to the table. Collaborations like this EP are just the beginning, the future is global.”

Check out the short film below, directed by Jasmine Loignon.

“Working with Rita was amazing on every front. There was a real will to push into a different territory she hadn’t explored before, and it was a chance I wasn’t going to pass up. With this film, we wanted to create a cinematic pop journey that felt different at every beat, rich in layers, heart and with depth. A film that paid homage to Rita’s roots through dance and fashion, and heart. An homage to freedom, and power.”
