Back in January, Italian producer Joseph Capriati was hospitalized after being stabbed by his father. His management quickly confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening but he was still required to stay in the hospital as the attack caused his lung to collapse. Unfortunately, he then shared an update that he suffered complications and was required to undergo a six-hour, life-saving surgery.
Over the weekend, he took to Instagram and announced his release from the hospital. The photo shows him smiling in the sunlight. In the caption, he thanks fans for their support and reveals that he’s back to work: “Back to life, and to Music. Perpetually grateful! See you soon.” (translated from Italian)
While fans are simply excited to see him in good health once again, he’s also sparked excitement by sharing that he will be returning to work on upcoming music.
Nurko has deservedly remained the topic of Twitter conversation in the wake of his drive-in performance for Insomniac’s running Park ‘N Rave series at the NOS Events Center. The 50-minute stream, aired on January 30 as part of the MitiS-hosted evening in San Bernardino, has now officially been uploaded to Insomniac’s YouTube, allowing all those who didn’t catch the set the night of to see just what dance music fans on Twitter have been buzzing about.
At this point in time, we all know Nurko set tall expectations for his virtual streams following Digital Mirage, and the “Blindspot” producer corroborated his election to Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2021 with yet another emphatic showing behind the decks. The two moments of the stream that undoubtedly had everyone chiming in were the grand unveilings of both “Sideways” with Illenium and Valerie Broussard, one of our 15 highest-priority IDs headed into the new year, as well as “When This is Over” with Dabin and Donovan Woods. The ID train didn’t break off at just those two, however, as Nurko also flashed an upcoming release with Monika Santucci and a suspected collaboration with both ARMNHMR and Micah Martin.
How do you finish the worst year in recent memory? Simple, with a victory. It’s not where you start but rather where you finish.
“Victory” is the latest innovation from the lead scientists at the BLK LAB. After initial tests, it has been deemed 99.9% effective, with the only noticeable side effect being an uncontrollable, unstoppable urge to tap your foot, bob your head, and text your mates about missing the sesh. This 100% Canadian beef is a collab between Montreal’s favorite radio personality VITO V, and the humanoid droids TOBECK (Telepathic and Observatory Bionically Electric Computerized Klingons) developed by the BLK LAB.
Vito V is a larger than life personality. When he isn’t entertaining you with one of his many stories, or offering you an espresso (the best in the city), you can find Vito in the studio curating the next big sound, listening to music, or making music.
After hashing out the backend algorithm with the droids Vito V knew he was onto a proper head bopper. Vito decided a killer vocal was necessary for ultimate dance floor effectiveness (99.9%), and with that, he surgically inserted the amazing vocal into the body of the track. It was time to rinse it on the radio and see the response, well check it out for yourself.!
Jason Momoa has credited a Tool song with igniting his love of playing the bass guitar in a new interview.
The actor has shared videos of himself playing the instrument online over the past year and was given a bass lesson by Primus’ Les Claypool in September.
Now, speaking to Bass Player magazine, the star has explained how he first picked up the instrument. “I always have instruments on the set, so my son was playing drums and my daughter was playing guitar,” he said.
“It was my assistant’s birthday, and she really loves Tool, so I borrowed a bass from my buddy and we all played ‘Sober’ for her. Right then, my passion for bass really exploded. The moment I put it on, I could just feel the connection – and it was all over.”

Momoa added that he had “always” known he wanted to play bass and said he has “studied and studied and studied” the instrument. “I was like ‘My God, I wish I would have done this when I was young’,” he said. “I wish that I had that opportunity – but I’m making up for lost time.”
The feature also saw the Aquaman star field questions from a host of artists including Slayer’s Tom Araya.
The musician asked Momoa if he would ever make the switch from acting to music, to which Momoa replied: “Oh man. A lot of my friends are musicians and I love them, and I feel like it’s fine for them to be actors, but I don’t know, when I see actors being musicians I’m like, ‘Oh my God’. It’s just like ‘Ugh…’ It never really works out.”
He didn’t rule out the change-up in careers entirely though. “It’s all good, and I would never want to say, ‘I’ll never do anything’,” he said. “I enjoy playing up there with my friends if they’re raising money for a charity, of course, because it’s always good to help – but I feel very out of place up there.”
In August, Momoa posted a video of himself jamming to Red Hot Chili Peppers’ cover of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Higher Ground’ on his Instagram page. In the clip, he showed off a Fender Precision Bass that he’d been gifted for his 41st birthday by the Fender Custom Shop Master Builder, Vincent Van Trigt.
Jauz remixes an absolute classic from Steve Angello & Laidback Luke for a revived version of “Show Me Love” featuring Robin S.
The original cut, written by Allen George, RichardTomlinson and FredMcFarlane, controlled the early 1990s dance scene with its mass club appeal and standout vocal performance from Robin S. The song topped charts around the world, garnering several remixes along the way — and the vibe only grew stronger.
It wasn’t until 2008 that EDM pioneers Steve Angello and Laidback Luke sampled the track and reconstructed their own, at the time, modern anthem. It’s still one of their best known productions and now “Show Me Love” evolves once again.
Jauz brings 90s breaks into 2021 with his reimagination of the classic. For a song that’s been released, re-released, remixed and rinsed out — the still producer manages to breathe new life into the record, primed for the dancefloor once again. The result is as compelling and addictive as ever.

While most Super Bowl bets revolve around the game itself, a popular betting site is taking bets on the halftime entertainment. MyBookie gamblers have the option to bet on whether or not The Weeknd will be joined by any special guests during his halftime performance.
Specifically, the gambling website is taking bets on who will be the first special guest to take the stage with The Weeknd. Users can bet on Daft Punk, Gesaffelstein, Drake, KendrickLamar, ArianaGrande, and more. Seemingly due to the frequency of the rumors surrounding the French duo, the masked dance music legends have been given the best odds on the site out of all the artists listed.

Canadian tech house innovator Cloverdale had a phenomenal 2020 that saw him land an EP release on Confession Records, launch his own audiovisual label venture, VIBRANCY, and secure a spot on Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2021 list. Now, the he’s partnered with high-octane electro house enthusiast and Monstercat frequenter FWLR to deliver an early contender for one of the top house tracks of the year, “Old School.”
The single opens with a catchy vocal suspended atop a classic acid synth. The track wastes no time hitting its first break, which boasts more acid rave synths intertwined with piano shots, groovy drums, and a handful of other unique sounds. The second drop continues the vibe while introducing higher-energy rave stabs. The best collaborations are the ones that highlight both artists’ unique skills and sounds, and “Old School” fluidly does just that.

Whenever our beloved space mom drops a single, we know it will be big. REZZ teased fans that new music was on the way just last week, but didn’t make us wait long to hear the final result. Her first original of the year, “Sacrificial,” has arrived and features a stunning performance from PVRIS. This is their first collaboration together but we hope it won’t be their last.
“‘Sacrificial’ is about risking it all for love… even if the world around you is telling you it’s not right,” PVRIS explained in a press release. This message is conveyed beautifully through Lynn Gunn‘s emotive vocal performance. Rezz balances the track out with her signature midtempo stylings, adding dimension around every corner. It’s both sinister and ethereal in tone, expertly combining elements of rock and electronica into one powerhouse single.
“Sacrificial” comes shortly after REZZ released her remix of Grimes and i_o‘s “Violence” as part of the Miss Anthropocene (Rave Edition) remix album. In August of last year, it was revealed that she’s working on a new album. Only time will tell if this single is part of a bigger project that’s coming our way.
You can stream “Sacrificial” across all platforms here.
