Kayzo & Black Tiger Sex Machine Release Collab Debut, “Lifeline” ft Point North

Kayzo and Black Tiger Sex Machine are both incredibly heavy artists in their own rights, and now they’ve officially teamed up for the first time on their new collaboration, “Lifeline” featuring Point North.

“Lifeline” was previously teased late last year to adoring eager fans and since then they’ve upgraded the heavy hit by adding vocals from the LA band Point North. Beginning with a barely perceptible melody and some soft drums, Point North introduces the song with the lead vocal, “searching for a lifeline…

The song blends BTSM’s electro qualities with Kayzo’s hard-hitting metal crossover, not to mention Point North’s fitting vocals. Check it out below now

Sultan + Shepard tease This Never Happened LP with second single, ‘Assassin’ – Dancing Astronaut

With several EPs and a Lane 8 remix under their belt, Sultan + Shepard have steadily become a mainstay on This Never Happened in recent months. In January, the Canadian melodic house duo announced its debut album on TNH with the LP’s lead single “Solid Gold Love” featuring Richard Walters. Now, Sultan + Shepard continue the Something, Everything rollout with “Assassin,” a joyful melodic house offering propelled by pensive synth work and romantic lyricism.

This Never Happened maintained an impressive release pace throughout 2020, and so far, the imprint is carrying that momentum into 2021. In January alone, TNH has hosted releases from Rinzen, JRJ, and Lane 8 himself in addition to Sultan + Shepard’s work. Something, Everything will be Sultan + Shepard’s first album since 2019’s Echoes of Life: Day and Echoes of Life: Night LPs, distributed via Armada Music. The full album is due for release on March 12.

Radio stations drop country star Morgan Wallen over use of racial slur

Country star Morgan Wallen has been dropped by a number of radio stations in light of a video emerging which sees him use a racial slur.

Wallen currently has the number one album in the United States with ‘Dangerous: The Double Album’, which has held the top position for three weeks.

The new video, which was reportedly filmed by a neighbour in Nashville, sees Wallen greeting friends and referring to one of them as the n-word.

Responding to TMZ, who first published the video, Wallen said he was “embarrassed and sorry”.

“I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back,” he added. “There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologise for using the word. I promise to do better.”

In light of the video emerging, radio network Cumulus Media are “requesting that all of Morgan Wallen’s music be removed from our playlists without exception”.

Streaming services are also taking action, according to the BBC, who report that Wallen’s music has been removed from Spotify’s prominent country playlist Hot Country Songs, and the Apple Music equivalent, Today’s Country.

Stars from the country world have also been responding to the controversy, with singer-songwriter Maren Morris tweeting: “It actually IS representative of [Nashville] because this isn’t his first “scuffle” and he just demolished a huge streaming record last month regardless.

“We all know it wasn’t his first time using that word. We keep them rich and protected at all costs with no recourse.”

Last October, Wallen’s scheduled appearance on Saturday Night Live was cancelled at the last minute after footage emerged of him breaking Covid-19 rules, partying with fans without wearing a mask.

When he did finally appear on the show, two months later, Wallen took part in a sketch in which he made fun of his rulebreaking.

“I’m not positive for COVID, but my actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams,” he said when removed from the original October episode.

“I respect the show’s decision because I know I put them in jeopardy, and I take ownership for this.”

Listen to Ben Howard’s laidback new track ‘Crowhurst’s Meme’

Ben Howard has shared his new track ‘Crowhurst’s Meme’ – you can hear the song below.

The new offering is the latest preview of Howard’s forthcoming new album ‘Collections From The Whiteout’ – which is set for release on March 26 via Island Records – following on from the arrival of the LP’s first single ‘What A Day’ last month.

Speaking about ‘Crowhurst’s Meme’, Howard said: “This song was firstly inspired by a wonky synth guitar part that I had which had a kind of seasick quality to it, which in my head had a tenuous link to the Donald Crowhurst story – the famous tale of the amateur British sailor who died whilst sailing around the world.

“These two things seemed to marry and so it became a sort of exploration of the undocumented universal side of the story.”

‘Collections From The Whiteout’ has been co-produced by The National‘s Aaron Dessner, who co-produced Taylor Swift‘s surprise albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ last year.

The album has been billed as Howard’s “most fully realised to date” and marks “the first time Ben has opened the door to production outside of he and his band’s closer confine”.

You can pre-order ‘Collections From The Whiteout’ here.

Back in January 2019, Howard shared the song ‘Heave Ho’ in celebration of his four-night stint at Brixton Academy in London.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival Officially Canceled for Spring 2021

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is officially canceled.

Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser just signed an order sealing the fate of Coachella and Stagecoach for Spring 2021. The decision was made due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Kaiser relayed the message via tweet and added, “We look forward to when the events may return.”

Although Coachella has yet to formally announce the cancellation or new dates, it seems the momentum has already shifted to Fall 2021. Mayor of Palm Springs, Christy Holstege, previously stated, “We’re hoping that those events will be rescheduled to the Fall of this year.”

Just recently, Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez was reportedly in talks with Coachella and Stagecoach producer Goldenvoice to help create a site for mass vaccinations.

Stay tuned for more info.
