I can make it through this
You can throw the world in my face
But the fear gives me life
And I swear ’til I die
I’m gonna do it my way

Aoki shares: “I’m so excited for my track with Aloe to finally be out in the world and to be able to share it with all of you. He has an incredible voice & it’s been awesome getting to work with him and blending my signature sound with his.”

Lyrics

I’ve been sad, I’ve been lost
I’ve been down and out and lonely
I’ve been suffering at a job
In a world that tries to own me

But when I wake up every morning
There’s an image of a better place
‘Cause the harder that we grind
Then the sweeter is the glory

People say I’m foolish
People say I’m blinded by faith
But if I run out of air
If I crash I don’t care
I’m gonna do it my way

I can make it through this
You can throw the world in my face
But the fear gives me life
And I swear ’til I die
I’m gonna do it my way

Aye, aye, aye
Gonna do it my way

So put me down and criticize me
With your lies and with your parody
In the darkness I don’t hide
‘Cause I got pride that gives me clarity

Said I still wake up in the morning
With a image of a better life
Because the option of defeat
Is just not written in my story

People say I’m foolish
People say I’m blinded by faith
But if I run out of air
If I crash I don’t care
I’m gonna do it my way

I can make it through this
You can throw the world in my face
But the fear gives me life
And I swear ’til I die
I’m gonna do it my way

Aye, aye, aye
Gonna do it my way

Every time they build a wall around me
Imma tear it down and say
I’m gonna live my dreams
Gotta live my dreams

Even when the floods rush round to drown me
I just hold my breath and pray
Let me live my dreams
Every single one of my
I ain’t quitting none of my dreams

People say I’m foolish
People say I’m blinded by faith
But if I run out of air
If I crash I don’t care
I’m gonna do it my way

I can make it through this
You can throw the world in my face
But the fear gives me life
And I swear ’til I die
I’m gonna do it my way

Aye, aye, aye
Let me fly through the air
If I crash I don’t care
I’m gonna do it my way

Aye, aye, aye
‘Cause the fear gives me life
And I swear ’til I die
I’m gonna do it my way

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch has been sold

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch has been sold to billionaire Ron Burkle, it has been reported.

The property, which spans 2,700 acres, is located in Los Olivos, near Santa Barbara, California.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the ranch was sold for $22million (£16.4m) to Burkle, who is the majority shareholder of the members-only club Soho House. He is also said to be a former associate of Jackson’s.

A spokesperson for Burkle said he had been interested in neighbouring Zaca Lake to create a new branch of the club – which has locations in London, LA, New York, Miami and Toronto – on, but decided it was too remote and expensive.

Neverland’s value has plummeted over the last four years. In 2016, it was priced at $100million (£74.7m). A year late, the asking price was $67m (£50m).

The ranch boasts a 12,500 square-foot house, a 3,700 square-foot pool house, a separate building with a cinema and dance studio, a barn, fire house, zoo, and “Disney-style” train station. At one time, it also had an amusement park, although this was removed following the pop star’s death.

Jackson bought the property in 1987 and owned it until his death in 2009. He did not die at the property, dying of a drug overdose at a different home in Los Angeles’ Holmby Hills. He originally paid $19.5m (£15m) for the ranch.

In November, Florida rapper Daeshard shared a music video for his song ‘Hood’ that was filed at the Neverland estate. It was reported that the shoot had not been authorised and that a security team demanded Daeshard erased the footage on the spot upon being caught trespassing.

US Gov’t Orders Additional 100 Million Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccines

A coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine is expected to be widely available to Americans by June 2021.

Earlier this week, Pfizer and BioNTech announced the United States had agreed to purchase an additional wave of 100 million doses, bringing the total order of COVID-19 vaccines to 200 million.

The government is prepared to pay $1.95 billion for the second round of vaccines — 70 million of which are due by June 30th, and the remaining 30 million due by July 31st.

The FDA has approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for emergency use, as well as a similar vaccine from Moderna.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar explained in a press release:

Securing more doses from Pfizer and BioNTech for delivery in the second quarter of 2021 further expands our supply of doses across the Operation Warp Speed portfolio. This new federal purchase can give Americans even more confidence that we will have enough supply to vaccinate every American who wants it by June 2021.

In 2020, the US has experienced its deadliest year, according to the CDC, with a troubling amount of daily COVID-19 cases still being reported. See below for details on how to stay safe this holiday season.

Chino Moreno’s Crosses share first recording in six years

Deftones’ Chino Moreno has released his first track in six years with his Crosses project – scroll down the page to listen to it now.

The band – which has also featured guitarist Shaun Lopez and bassist Chuck Doom – released their debut album in 2014.

Their first output since that record has now arrived in the form of a cover of Sacramento band Cause & Effect’s ‘The Beginning Of The End’.

The original version of the song appeared on Cause & Effect’s self-titled debut album, which was released in 1990. For this new version, Moreno reunited with Lopez but, as Consequence Of Sound reports, there is no mention of Doom’s involvement in a press release for the track.

Listen to Crosses’ cover of ‘The Beginning Of The End’ below now.

While there has been no confirmation of plans to release any new, original music from Crosses at present, Moreno did recently say he had been working on material for the project. “I just moved into a new place a little over a month ago, so I’ve been setting up my studio room in here and I broke out some of that [unreleased] stuff from then, and I started working on it,” he said in October.

“Now that the Deftones record [‘Ohms’] is done and there’s no touring really in the near future, I kinda have time to work on stuff so I’m definitely going to dig in and see where I can go with that.”

Meanwhile, Moreno recently told NME that he hasn’t given up on the idea of finishing Deftones’ “lost” album ‘Eros’. The record was shelved in 2008 after their bassist Chi Cheng was involved in a car crash that left him in a coma.

Illenium Gives The Gift Of Joy On Christmas With New Dabin & Lights Collab, “Hearts On Fire”

Illenium’s new musical journal on his new label home, 12Tone, began a little more than halfway through this year with “Nightlight.” Following it up with the Tom Delonge collaboration, “Paper Thin,” he’s back now with “Hearts on Fire,” teaming up with Lights and once again with Dabin.

“Hearts on Fire” is a wonderfully beautiful ballad that perfectly reflects the talents of these three consummate artists. Dabin’s and Illenium’s guitar and synths mix with Lights’ superb vocals and the drop is a the perfect amount of grit and raw emotion. It’s one of those songs we could easily see getting the finale fireworks treatment at a festival like Coachella or Lost Lands — not that most of Illenium’s songs don’t already fit that profile.

But this will absolutely be another one of his songs that fans will be screaming from the tops of their lungs when it gets played, as the refrain begins: “This is for the hearts on fire / out of control / Boy, you gotta let ’em know.”

Check it out below!

Four Tet drops two unexpected albums on Christmas day – Dancing Astronaut

Four Tet has released two unexpected LPs on Christmas day, piping just a bit of electronic icing on this year’s holiday season cake.

The albums, titled Parallel and 871, represent opposite sides of the Four Tet spectrum. The former works its way into the London-based musician’s more recent work, weaving his unique instrument selection and sampling prowess with the enchanting harmonies that Four Tet listeners have come to hope for.

871, which is attributed to the 00110100 01010100 (or 4T in binary) alias, harkens back to another time for the act, one with more experimental and even grungier dance floor takes. Recorded within 15 months between 1995 and 1997, 871 paints a picture of where Kieran Hebdan has come from as a producer. This LP ultimately shares more similarities with Fridge, a post-rock outfit featuring Hebdan that started shortly this time, but it offers a unique moment of reflection for how much an artist’s sound can evolve over time.

The new albums were announced just hours before their release in a Twitter post made on Christmas Eve. Listen to them both below.

Kings Of Leon tease new song ‘Must Catch The Bandit’

Kings Of Leon have teased the imminent release of a new song, titled ‘Must Catch The Bandit’.

The band haven’t released any official new material for four years, with their last release coming in the 2016 album ‘Walls’.

“Blame it on the holiday ‘cheer’, but I just feel like sharing,” bassist Jared Followill tweeted yesterday (December 25). “@kingsofleon tweeted ‘the w8 is nearly over’ TEN MONTHS ago. Enough.

“If you were promised new Kings music in 2 weeks, would you forgive us? Could you?”

He then attempted to add a clip of the track in a follow-up tweet, but joked “Assembly required for this Christmas present” when the video ended up appearing as a link instead.

“Big brother fixed it for you,” replied drummer Nathan Followill, embedding a video of a hand developing individual photos of the band soundtracked by a clip of the forthcoming song. Watch that video below now.

Despite no official releases arriving in the last four years, in March the band shared a live recording of a new song called ‘Going Nowhere’. The performance was recorded in their hometown of Nashville and featured only frontman Caleb Followill on acoustic guitar.

Meanwhile, Kings Of Leon were due to play their first London show since 2017 this summer, but were forced to cancel it by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The US band would have headlined Finsbury Park on June 28, with support meant to come from Courteeners, Cage The Elephant, Inhaler, Soccer Mommy and The Big Moon. Announcing the cancellation in May, promoter Festival Republic said they were “working hard” with Kings Of Leon to arrange a new show.
