KUU Delivers Euphoric Remix of Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” With DaBaby

Since KUU threw their hats into the ring as one of dance music’s brightest new groups, they have not looked back. They can now celebrate yet another win after earning a coveted official remix for global superstar Dua Lipa‘s recent hit “Levitating” featuring DaBaby. The original has already amassed 64 million Spotify streams, which will bring in a lot of new followers for the trio.

When a song is as catchy as “Levitating” is, the challenge arises as to how to bring it to the next level. KUU takes it on with impressive expertise, homing in on the hypnotic sound design of Balearic beat and adding in a rolling bassline that makes it near impossible not to dance. The funky piano is the final piece of the puzzle, wrapping it up perfectly.

Kraftwerk to headline Playground Festival 2021

Kraftwerk will headline Playground Festival, topping the bill for 2021’s event. The Glasgow festival returns next year, running July 30 – August 1, at Rouken Glen Park. The three-day festival commonly hosts a mix of established and new acts, though the first crop of talent announced comes with a heavy dose of venerated clout—as Underworld, Nile Rodgers, and Chic join the legendary German electronic band as the first acts on the lineup. The festival, which was due to take place between July 31 – August 2 this year, originally had acts secured including CHVRCHES, The Flaming Lips, Neneh Cherry, as well as Underworld. Playground organizers say fans can expect the “most eclectic line-up ever seen,” as festival spokesperson Ashleigh Elliott said,

“We are thrilled to bring Playground 2021 to Rouken Glen Park with what we believe is one of the most exciting line-ups ever seen in Scotland. We are confident it will deliver a truly memorable weekend.”

When speaking about Kraftwerk,

“Kraftwerk can be described in the exact same way, their hypnotic synthesizer melodies truly shaped the development of dance music around the world. Their 3D show will be unlike anything our city has ever seen – we have some very exciting plans to make it even more special.”

Kraftwerk’s set on the Saturday night will be a Kraftwerk 3D visual spectacle as it follows the postponement of the 3D 50th anniversary tour amid COVID-19 and the death of co-founder, Florian Schneider, earlier this year.

In a statement shared earlier in the week (November 19), they said what the 33-year-old was “rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions”.

“A great team of doctors and nurses is helping him pull through,” they said at the time. “He’s not out of the woods yet, but progress is being made. The family and friends are praying that he starts breathing on his own soon, and makes a full recovery.”

Chance The Rapper, Big Sean and Toni Braxton were among the stars who shared their support for Jeremih after his condition was reported.

“Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih,” Chance tweeted. “He is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him.”

Dillon Francis Remixes Dixie D’Amelio’s “Be Happy” for the Dancefloor [LISTEN]

Dillon Francis has truly mastered the art of remixing — and his latest for TikTok sensation Dixie D’Amelio keeps up his hot streak (not to mention, he whipped it all together in a week, just watch)!

Packed with plenty of pop flavor, “Be Happy” (Dillon Francis Remix) takes the original loners ballad and transforms it for the dancefloor. Even if you’re actively fighting off happiness, this remix will make it nearly impossible to stay down for too long.

As Dillon brightens the mood, Dixie’s pitched down vocals sing out: Sometimes I don’t wanna be happy / I’m down just leave me there, let me be sad.

This remix comes as the D’Amelio family, particularly Dixie’s sister Charli, is the subject of some major drama. An incident referred to as “Snailgate” recently wreaked havoc on social media and caused her to lose over a million followers.

Temporary Restraining Order Granted Against Diplo Following Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

A judge has granted a temporary restraining order to a Los Angeles woman following her accusations of grooming, emotional abuse, and intimidation—among other allegations—against Diplo.

The woman’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, requested the restraining order after the plaintiff accused the famed DJ and music producer of disseminating a sexually explicit photo of her as an act of “revenge porn” that was “designed to humiliate her and to scare other women out of coming forward.” According to a report published by NBC News, the order requires Diplo to remove any explicit pictures previously posted and refrain from posting more unless he’s given written permission.

The album John Lennon signed for Mark Chapman is set to be auctioned

The album John Lennon signed for Mark Chapman hours before the man murdered him is being put up for auction.

Chapman asked Lennon to sign a copy of ‘Double Fantasy’, his collaborative album with partner Yoko Ono, outside The Dakota apartment building in New York on December 8, 1980. Five hours later, he fatally shot the Beatle as he returned to his home.

The signed copy was submitted as evidence in the NYPD’s investigation into Lennon’s murder. According to the listing by Goldin Auctions, police markings from the investigation appear on both the front and back of the record sleeve.

Bidding on the record will open on Monday (November 23) at 12am ET (5am GMT) and begins at $400,000 (£301k). More information is available here.

Earlier this year, Chapman apologised to Ono “for the pain that I caused to her”. “I think about it all of the time,” he said at a hearing in New York, where he was denied parole for the 11th time.

At the hearing, he said he deserved the death penalty, although that punishment was abolished in New York in 2007. He will remain behind bars for at least two more years, when he is scheduled for his next parole hearing.

On what would have been Lennon’s 80th birthday on October 9, his biographer Kenneth Womack claimed the late star would have given Donald Trump “hell” if he was still alive.

“I think in a lot of ways he would have been like David Bowie, very moved by the internet,” he said. “He would be an influencer in that way… he’d be right there on Twitter giving Trump hell.”

Armin van Buuren, Brennan Heart, Jeremy Oceans, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike pile onto festive single, ‘Christmas Time’ – Dancing Astronaut

‘Tis the season for hit-making DJs to come together for festive holiday singles. This year’s first Christmas-themed cut is a collaborative effort between Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armin van Buuren, and Brennan Heart. with featured vocalist Jeremy Oceans, whose soulful singing instills the track with a sense of peace and calm throughout. Energy builds as the introduction falls into a euphoric break that could easily find a home on festival stages.

“Christmas Time” is unapologetically commercial-leaning with a side of holiday spirit—a fitting segue into December. While Armin van Buuren and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been known to put out commercial releases, Heart’s technique is unflinchingly hardstyle with little diversion from the genre. “Christmas Time” is the first time the trio of artists have teamed up with one another, out now via Smash The House.
