Martin Garrix Confirms 2021 Return of AREA21

In a recent interview shared by Festival Season, Martin Garrix revealed the impending return of his side project, AREA21.

Garrix unveiled AREA21 back in 2016, when he joined forces with prolific record producer and singer-songwriter Maejor to reveal the duo’s debut single “Spaceships.” The track was markedly less heavy than his popular big room house flair at the time, blending future bass and hip-hop sounds under a melodic umbrella. Ever since, AREA21 releases have been intermittent, with the latest, “HELP,” arriving in March 2019.

David Guetta and MORTEN apply ‘future rave’ touch to ‘Let’s Love’ [Stream]

David Guetta and MORTEN can’t be stopped. The producers, who stand behind the “future rave” movement, have followed their New Rave EP with a two-pronged “Future Rave Remix” of Guetta’s recent single with Sia, “Let’s Love.”

Guetta and MORTEN collaboratively lower the BPM and distort bits and pieces of Sia’s sung verses over thumping kicks and haunting production layers. The production pair does a commendable job building anticipation for the dark techno breaks that punctuate the standard remix, exemplifying its ability to take unexpected twists and turns while adding a completely new dynamic to the original. The extended release has a brighter opening than the original and synthesizes the vocals to create a new listening experience. Stream Guetta and MORTEN’s double revision below.

LILO Revamps Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance” With Catchy Cover

LILO’s cover of Milky Chance’s renowned indie-pop single “Stolen Dance” expands on the already energetic style of the original, adding a festival-ready dance baseline and beat over the track. The South Korean-born, Sweden based artist, who has been deliberately selective in what information he has shared with the public, goes under the alias of an octopus but little else is known about the artist beyond this, and his aptitude for producing infectious instrumental works.

Since entering the music industry in August, LILO has been featured on publications such as Your EDM and Thissongissick and his latest cover will no doubt continue the hype, bringing us a deep, plucky bass, smooth house drop and haunting vocals. A dark, epic take on the original, LILO continues to show the EDM scene that he’s a force to be reckoned with.

Armin van Buuren is Re-Releasing His “Balance” Album in Immersive Dolby Atmos

You can now experience Armin van Buuren‘s iconic trance sound like never before.

The dance music legend and “A State Of Trance” proprietor has teamed up with Dolby to re-release his seventh studio album Balance in immersive Dolby Atmos. The unique re-issue of Balance, which was released exactly one year ago, will be available across TIDAL’s HiFi tier and Amazon Music HD starting today, October 26th.

Music processed in Dolby Atmos “makes listeners feel like they’re inside the music” by adding more space, clarity, and depth. Songs produced using the technology offer a more immersive listening experience because creators are able to strategically place distinct audio elements in a 3D sound field, which isn’t possible in stereo.

STEVIE APPLETON takes us to ‘PARADISE’ with some help from SAM FELDT

Stevie Appleton has dropped his much anticipated new single ‘Paradise’ on a wave of melancholic vibes. Released on Sam Feldt’s burgeoning label Heartfeldt Records, the UK singer/songwriter perfectly uses his warm vocals and sweet guitar licks to rework the Phil Collins classic ‘Another Day In Paradise’, while incorporating the tender rhythms and high-quality production skills of label boss Sam Feldt.

Leave it to Stevie Appleton to reset the minds for a moment. His ever-inspiring attitude and soul-drenched songs are the perfect remedies for any twist of fate. He’s already proven this with his solo debut single ‘Supposed To Do’ alongside platinum songwriting and features, including Tiësto’s ‘BLUE’, Lucas Estrada’s ‘Villa In Ibiza’ and Klingande’s ‘Sinner’.

You’ll be touched somehow by Appleton’s music, especially now it’s backed by Sam Feldt on the new single ‘Paradise’. Known for his enticing mix of pop and dance (reaching a new milestone with his worldwide hit ‘Post Malone’ last year) the Dutch DJ/producer knows how to take a song next level.

‘Paradise’ does just that. Using the lyrics and melodies of Phil Collins’ 1989 hit song ‘Another Day In Paradise’, it’s turned into the perfect soundtrack for these strange, melancholic times we live in. Stevie recalls “My parents loved Phil Collins so I grew up listening to him all the time. I swear I’ve been whistling the hook of Paradise for the last 15 years; thought, ‘I need to get this song out of me somehow’ – not sure if releasing it properly has helped!”.

Stevie Appleton’s comforting voice seems to be made for the emotionally charged lyrics, providing the message with new layers of sentiment, while enhancing the beauty of the song’s melody with catchy guitar chords. On the other side, Sam Feldt does what he does best: adding his much-praised production to give the tune another edge, energy driven by sweet dance rhythms.

The result is a classic song, taken to new heights by Appleton’s timeless craftsmanship, while also incorporating a contemporary, electronically driven sound. It’s the best of both worlds, and exactly the hopeful tune we need right now.
