Ringo Starr cancels remaining tour dates amid second bout of COVID-19

Ringo Starr has cancelled the final 5 dates of his present North American tour, after contracting COVID-19 for a second time within the span of a fortnight.

First testing optimistic for the virus at first of October, the Beatle was pressured to cancel seven exhibits between Michigan and British Columbia. He returned to the highway on Tuesday (October 11) – flanked by the All-Starr Band – performing in Seattle then and in Portland the next evening (October 12).

It seems that his comeback was untimely, although, as Starr has now confirmed he’s once more returned to being COVID-positive. “I’m certain you’ll be as stunned as I used to be,” he wrote in a press release shared on social media, alerting his followers that “the remainder of the tour is off”.

Starr and co. have been resulting from play three extra exhibits within the US this week – one in San Jose tomorrow (October 14) adopted by gigs in Paso Robles and Los Angeles over the weekend – earlier than the tour wrapped up over two nights in Mexico Metropolis. On the time of writing, it’s not clear whether or not Starr plans to reschedule these dates; in the intervening time, his touring calendar is totally empty.

This marks the third time Starr’s North American tour had its itinerary shaken up. Again in June, he postponed a slew of exhibits with the All-Starr Band after two of its members – keyboardist Edgar Winter and guitarist Steve Lukather – examined optimistic for COVID-19.
