Your EDM Premiere: Matt Doe x Protohype – Hold Me Close

[ad_1]

Protohype has another fresh release to offer up through Underdog Records today. He has started pushing some serious talent, and moves from Elderbass to Canadian producer and DJ Matt Doe this week. Doe has made a three-track EP titled WHATCHU LOOKIN’ AT, and it follows previous releases for labels like Dim Mak and Subsidia.

Never one to hold back with an immense bass hit, alongside two solo cuts is a collaboration with Protohype, which we’re premiering below. ‘Hold Me Close’ is an absolute slammer of a listen that comes in gradually before hitting hard with meandering notes and pummelling low-end slaps.

Matt Doe has spoken out on the EP, sharing:  So, this whole thing started with the simple idea of touching areas and sub-genres I haven’t really been comfortable working with yet; from heavy dubstep to weird trap and old school dubstep. I also figured, as much as these times have been weird for all of us, I didn’t want to let it affect my creativity and get “stuck” in the process. I moved forward with the mindset of “I’ll see wherever this goes”.
