Illenium shares post-apocalyptic visual for ‘Paper Thin’ with Tom DeLonge – Dancing Astronaut
While Illenium didn’t necessarily disappear to any extent in the first half of 2020, the second half has undoubtedly been his for the taking. After sharing a three-part remix package for his “Paper Thin” linkup with Tom DeLonge, Illenium is now complementing the single with an Oscar-worthy cinematic visual.
Set in a post-apocalyptic universe, the movie-like “Paper Thin” video, directed by Emmy Award-winning director Kyle Cogan, suitably matches the hyperactive temperament of the pop-punk song. Although neither Illenium nor Tom DeLonge make a real-life appearance in the video, the story follows a young man and woman who attempt to escape the clutches of an enigmatic villain. The visually stunning short is considered to be a sibling narrative to Illenium’s similarly immersive counterpart for “Nightlight.”
