“I’m scared of horses,” Snoop Dogg said. “To this day, Tiff. I don’t know why I’m just fucking scared of them. I’m so serious. You ain’t never seen me in a scene with a horse. The rapper went on to explain that his wife once owned horse for around three years but he never got close to it. “I ain’t finna go meet this n***a, ’cause I don’t fuck with horses. But that was like her peace of mind, to go ride horses and do that kind of shit. So I understand what a horse means to people. I just ain’t never really understood.”
“Maybe one day somebody can introduce me to a baby horse. A little jackass or something I can learn how to be around you muthafuckas,” he added.
In other Snoop Dogg news, the rapper most recently teamed up with country singer Chris Stapleton and drummer Cindy Blackman Santana to cover Phil Collins’ ‘In The Air Tonight’ as the new Monday Night Football theme song for ESPN and the NFL.
Chase and Status, the iconic British electronic music duo known for their genre-bending sound, have returned with a scorching new single, “Liquor & Cigarettes.” The high-octane track sees them collaborating with drum & bass heavyweight Hedex and rising British rapper ArrDee.
With a history of genre-defying tracks under their belt, the duo behind hit albums like No More Idols and Brand New Machine return with a new sonic experiment. “Liquor and Cigarettes’ fuses breakneck drum & bass rhythms with the unrelenting energy of the British rap scene to create a sound that is both timeless and contemporary. Blending their signature production style with Hedex’s gut-rumbling bass drops and ArrDee’s raw delivery, Chase & Status serve up a truly irresistible track.
Featuring breakout rapper ArrDee, whose distinctive style has made waves in the U.K. music scene, “Liquor and Cigarettes” injects a fresh layer of authenticity into the gritty narratives that have always been a part of Chase & Status’ music. Meanwhile, Hedex’s infectious beats, adrenaline-pumping pace and characteristically intense basslines capture some of the familiar chaos of urban nightlife.
“Liquor & Cigarettes” follows the release of Chase & Status’ dancehall-inspired hit “Baddadan” in July 2023. Take a listen below.
Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has shared an update on his health after recently being admitted to hospital with a pneumonia infection.
The singer’s wife, Ariana, confirmed on social media last week that Whibley had been hospitalised on the day the couple were supposed to be in Chicago celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary.
She explained that her husband would be kept in hospital for several days due to the risk of heart failure.
Ariana subsequently told her followers that Whibley had been discharged following successful treatment, adding that he would be “under the care of his mother who is a registered nurse and myself”.
She continued: “The pressure and strain on his heart and lungs has improved and he is able to breathe without as much pain.”
Today (September 19) Whibley posted a message on Sum 41’s social media pages in which he thanked fans of the band for showing him “so much love and support”.
“Although I’m not out of the woods yet and have been told to be prepared for a bit of roller coaster sickness over the next couple of weeks, I’m staying positive and doing my best to get through all of this,” he went on.
I wanted to take a min to say thank you to everyone for so much love and support. Although I’m not out of the woods yet and have been told to be prepared for a bit of roller coaster sickness over the next couple of weeks, I’m staying positive and doing my best to get through all… pic.twitter.com/YJO89dYY5Z
“I’m still bed ridden, having a hard time breathing, tight chest pains and some pretty wild fever dreams, that I guess are keeping this whole thing somewhat entertaining. I’m in the best hands and am on the right medicine.”
Whibley then said that he plans on being his “absolute best” for when Sum 41 perform at Las Vegas’ When We Were Young festival next month. “That’s my goal,” he added. “Thank you, so much love ❤️ Deryck.”
Whibley was previously hospitalised in 2014 for severe liver and kidney damage caused by alcohol abuse. He spent nearly a month in hospital and was told by doctors that if he had one more alcoholic drink, he risked death.
Back in May, Sum 41 announced that they were to split up following a final run of live tour dates.
In 2022, Whibley revealed that the band had completed a new double record called ‘Heaven And Hell’, which will be released before the Canadian quartet go their separate ways.

Taylor Swift has shared a video teaser in relation to her forthcoming re-recording of ‘1989’ – you can watch it below.
The singer-songwriter confirmed last month that ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ will arrive on October 27, 2023, which is the ninth anniversary of the original 2014 album. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.
READ MORE: Taylor Swift re-recordings: everything we know about the upcoming albums
At the time, Swift revealed that the record would come with five “insane” ‘From The Vault’ tracks dating back to the ‘1989’ era. Tonight (September 19), the pop star took to social media to post a cryptic animation that sees a silver vault being opened.
The clip appears to contain the letters ‘T’, ‘S’, ‘U’ and ‘L’, which fall out of the vault one by one. We also see the seagulls that appear on the cover of the re-recorded edition of ‘1989’.
“You can tell me when the *search* is over… if the high was worth the pain,” Swift captioned the silent video, referencing the lyrics to ‘Blank Space’. Check out the post here:
Swifties were quick to share their theories on what the teaser could mean, and they’ve come up with two possible answers to the anagram: ‘Lust’ or ‘Slut’. The latter, as Rolling Stone notes, could point to an upcoming collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
Carpenter’s 2022 song ‘Because I Liked A Boy’ features the line: “Now I’m a home-wrecker, I’m a slut.” Additionally, it has been suggested the track bears similarities to the aforementioned ‘Blank Space’ in which Swift sings about having “a long list of ex-lovers“.
Carpenter also opened for Swift recently at a run of ‘Eras Tour’ concerts in Mexico. What’s more, it has been reported that Carpenter ‘liked’ the mysterious ‘From The Vault’ teaser on Instagram.
According to Pop Base, Swift will reveal the ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ vault track titles once 33million puzzles are completed on a new Google puzzle.
Swift has already released ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ and most recently ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’. The re-recording project will see the star reclaim ownership of her first six studio albums, spanning 2006’s self-titled to ‘Reputation’ (2017).

The first three ‘(Taylor’s Version)’ records boast collaborative ‘From The Vault’ songs featuring the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy and Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams.
Last week, a spokesperson for Swift reportedly confirmed that Matty Healy of The 1975 would not be appearing on ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’. Swift and Healy, who dated for a couple of months earlier this year, are said to have recorded a track together for the reworked album.
Swift bagged a history-making nine awards at last week’s 2023 MTV VMAs, tying for the most wins in one night. She also has the second-most overall wins, coming in second to Beyoncé (who has a total of 26 VMAs as a solo artist).
Odd Mob and OMNOM are already soaring to dizzying heights with their new collaboration, “Losing Control.”
The track has become an early hit in the making with two key purveyors leveraging it as a secret weapon in their sets, John Summit and Dom Dolla. It opens ominously with an arpeggiated, feverishly escalating synth line, coiling inward on itself into a band of white noise. A tension-building pause in the late night anthem cathartically tips the arrangement over the edge with a wave of reverberating bass and robotic vocals heard round’ the festival circuit.
The recipe is one Odd Mob and OMNOM have pressure-tested with their prior collaboration, “Bees,” released earlier this year. Sticking to their guns has certainly paid off immensely already with “Losing Control” soaring to the top of the Beatport Top 10 chart in rapid fashion. It’s all but a sign that DJs have been itching to get their hands on this coveted ID for quite some time.
Odd Mob and OMNOM’s “Losing Control” is out by way of John Summit’s newly rebranded label imprint, Experts Only. Take a listen below.
Kylie Minogue has announced details of an upcoming pop-up shop in London, set to celebrate the release of her new album ‘Tension’.
The special store will be open for a limited time later this week and will see the Australian pop star open up a pop-up shop in the heart of London, filled with exclusive merchandise and unique products related to her latest album.
The forthcoming LP, titled ‘Tension’ will mark the singer’s 16th studio album, and is set to be released this Friday (September 22). It will follow on from her previous singles: hit anthem of this summer ‘Padam Padam’, and ‘90s-inspired title track.
Located at 55 Regent Street, the store will be open to fans from 10am until 6pm on Friday, when the album is released, and will run throughout the weekend, ending on Sunday (September 24).
To those visiting, there will be plenty of exclusive items available for purchase – all of which have been curated personally by Minogue and are set to become collector’s items of the future.
These include limited-edition and individually numbered copies of ‘Tension’ on vinyl, as well as limited-edition signed prints and lithographs. New limited edition candles, bespoke clothing, merchandise and event memorabilia are also set to appear in the pop-up store, as well as bottles of the singer’s own brand of Rosé wine, which have been rebranded to celebrate the release of ‘Tension’.
The event will also mark Minogue’s return to London’s iconic Regent Street. This comes as back in 1998 she launched her sixth studio album ‘Impossible Princess’ with an event at Tower Records at the famous address.
‘Tension’ is available from this Friday via BMG, pre-order it here.
To celebrate the upcoming album the singer has also shared details of a free, intimate show in London later this month. The Australian artist will perform at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire next Wednesday (September 27) and while entry to the show is free, it is limited to just 700 passes for O2 Priority customers.
The update came after she announced plans for An Audience With show at The Royal Albert Hall in London this winter, set to be aired as an ITV special on December 1.
In other Kylie Minogue news, the lead single from the new album, ‘Padam Padam’, has been a runaway hit, and given the singer her first UK Top 10 song in 12 years.
“I started this album with an open mind and a blank page,” Minogue shared in a press release, following the song being shared in May. “Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme,’ it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
Olivia Rodrigo has reacted to Chipotle’s joke that references a lyric from the pop star’s ‘Guts’ album track ‘Ballad Of A Homeschooled Girl’.
Chipotle, the Mexican food-inspired restaurant chain, posted an image on its Instagram account last week of its chips and guacamole side dish with a hand hovering over it bearing rings similar to those Rodrigo wears on her ‘Guts‘ album cover.
The chain captioned the image with “every guy I like is guac” in reference to Rodrigo’s lyric, “Everything I do is tragic/ Every guy I like is gay.”
Rodrigo commented on the post, writing: “LMFAOOOOO THIS IS AMAZING.”
The news follows Rodrigo picking up her second UK Number One album recently, with ‘Guts’ outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined.
The album racked up over 60,000 chart units in its first week. Her debut album ‘Sour’ also re-entered the Top 10 following the second album’s release.
‘Guts’ has had the fourth biggest opening week for an album in 2023, following records by Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.

In other news, the pop star has cancelled her publicity tour in Australia days before it kicks off due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
Rodrigo was due to host a Q&A with fans on September 22. She was also booked for a number of media interviews in promotion of her new album.
A spokesperson from Universal Music Australia said [via MusicNews]: “Olivia is devastated that she won’t be able to make it, however she’s so excited to see her Australian Livies [fans] in 2024.”
Rodrigo recently announced her ‘Guts World Tour’ for next year, which opens in Palm Springs, California on February 23, 2024.
Smashing Pumpkins have re-staged the release show they held for their ‘Siamese Dream’ album 30 years ago and performed numerous rarities at the event.
The show the band recreated was to celebrate the release of their 1993 album ‘Siamese Dream’, which saw them play a now-famous acoustic set at midnight at Tower Records, Chicago.
Now, three decades after the moment took place, the band recreated the set at Madame Zuzu’s – a tea house located on the outskirts of Chicago and owned by frontman Billy Corgan.
Taking place last Sunday (September 17), the band had the tea house made to look like the original Tower Records set. According to Stereogum, Tower Records itself also participated in the stunt, and in an Instagram update, Corgan revealed it marked the first physical version of a Tower Records store since 2006.
As well as recreating the setting from their 1993 release show, the band also had another surprise installed for fans, as they brought out a nearly identical set to that of the original, as well as some rarities.
These included the track ‘Luna’, which hadn’t been performed live since 2006, and ‘Spaceboy’ – a deep cut from the album which the band have not included in their setlist since 2016.
Other highlights included a rendition of ‘Purr Snickety’ at the end of the 10-song setlist, which is a B-side to their ‘Cherub Rock’ single and was played for the first time since 1991. Finally, they also brought out the first-ever live performance of ‘Spaced’: a song from the ‘Siamese Dream’ session that ended up on the rarities album ‘Pisces Iscariot’.
Unlike the 1993 set, however, was the line-up of the band as D’Arcy Wretzky did not make an appearance at the show. Corgan did acknowledge her absence, as well as others who contributed to the album who could not be at the event. “Not everyone’s here that should be here, but that’s just the way life goes,” he said.
Check out more footage of the show below, as well as the full setlist.
In other Smashing Pumpkins news, earlier this year Corgan revealed that he once told Pantera to “shut the fuck up” began questioning Metallica.
“They were just going on and on about Metallica. Not in a negative way, more confused like, ‘I love Metallica, but I don’t get it and they’re not metal and what’s going on?’,” he explained.
“I knew them well enough that they would sort of listen to me and I said ‘You know what? Shut the fuck up… You guys right now are the best metal band on the fucking planet, okay? You just focus on Pantera. You just focus on being the greatest metal band on the fucking planet. Metallica will work it out’. And they did, right?”
