Rampage Cements Itself as Europe's Premier Bass Music Experience With "Takeover Edition"

The celebrated festival recently made a massive return to Antwerp, Belgium.

Taking command of Antwerp throughout an intense weekend, Rampage’s return to the Belgian city was beyond explosive.

Billed as "The Biggest Drum & Bass And Dubstep Party In The Universe," Rampage is riding high after making its debut in Amsterdam in late 2022. As organizers gear up for the brand's upcoming "Open Air" edition this summer, Rampage landed in Antwerp once again from March 10-11, with thousands of visitors from many countries flocking to the city to enjoy a heavy dose of drum & bass and dubstep.

This year, Total Takeover was introduced for the first time. Complementing the festival’s now-iconic Sportpaleis takeover, the brand new concept saw Rampage team up with some of bass music’s most acclaimed brands and artists to curate a diverse list of lineups across 10 clubs throughout Antwerp.

Thanks to the brand new Takeover concept and Rampage’s unique collaborators, the festival’s lineup was as unique as ever, touching on many genres of the bass music spectrum. Throughout the festival’s first night, which found attendees jumping from one club to another while receiving live information via Rampage’s Woov app page, IKON made for an undisputed hotspot. Taking over its main room, Belgian star Eptic enlisted Riot Ten, HOL! and many more for an intense dubstep party while the club’s other three rooms featured takeovers from Chillhop, Vissa, Space Invaderz and Dub Valley.

On the other hand, Café Local featured curation by renowned bass music brand UKF and performances from Ruth Royall, The Caracal Project, Grafix, Tantrum Desire and more, while Cargo Club hosted Monstercat’s event with sets from Tokyo Machine, DROELOE, WHIPPED CREAM and Pegboard Nerds.

On Saturday, Rampage’s gathered at Sportpaleis, one of Europe’s largest arenas, to celebrate an expertly-curated lineup of some of drum & bass and dubstep’s greatest acts. Alix Perez enchanted attendees with his minimalistic yet intricate sound, enlisting help from SP:MC before Bear Grillz went B2B with Jessica Audiffred for an explosive dubstep set.

Iconic drum & bass acts Andy C, Hedex and Macky Gee gave mesmerizing performances throughout the night, in a lineup that was alternating between dubstep and drum & bass, keeping fans on their toes all throughout.

Black Tiger Sex Machine made for one of the night’s best sets with their stadium-sized bass anthems, while EDM.com Class of 2022 star Ray Volpe made his Rampage debut. Sullivan King, who was billed to perform, unfortunately had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, with Modestep stepping in his place to deliver a set of massive proportions.

Rampage’s production at Sportpaleis was the most impressive its ever been this year, with huge LED screens, pyro, lasers and a captivating light show. Three light circular light tresses were also positioned above the crowd, changing altitude and angle throughout the night while naturally attracting the crowd’s moshpits directly under them.

Rampage once again proved its prowess as a top-tier provider of bass music experiences with Total Takeover.
