Richard Ashcroft dedicates ‘Sonnet’ to Completely satisfied Mondays’ Paul Ryder throughout Leeds present

Richard Ashcroft started his present at Leeds’ Millennium Sq. over the weekend with a dedication to founding Completely satisfied Mondays member Paul Ryder, following the bassist’s loss of life a day earlier.

As Ashcroft and his band took to the stage on Saturday (July 16), he informed the gang: “This one’s for Paul Ryder and Completely satisfied Mondays. Relaxation in peace. Unimaginable band.” They then started to play ‘Sonnet’, lifted from The Verve‘s 1997 album ‘City Hymns’.

Completely satisfied Mondays introduced final Friday (July 15) that Ryder had died that morning on the age of 58. No reason behind loss of life has been disclosed. Ryder, who co-founded the band alongside brother Shaun Ryder and others in 1980, was remembered as “a real pioneer and legend” in a tribute shared on the band’s social media.

“He shall be eternally missed,” the assertion continued. “We thanks for respecting the privateness of all involved at the moment. Lengthy dwell his funk.”
