XAVAGE Serves Up Dark Midtempo Twerk with New Single “Break It Down” [LISTEN]

XAVAGE returns with a genre-bending new production, “Break It Down.”

The rising LA-based producer blends his signature bouncy trap style with midtempo flair, offering listeners a unique, hypnotic hybrid to get down to. Tinged with dark elements, “Break It Down” is fitting for a warehouse rave, but danceable enough for the club.

On his mission to put the “dance back in dance music,” we’ve previously covered XAVAGE’s addictive trap gem “If You Need Me, Don’t” with DARKMARK and playful, wonky banger “Strike A Pose.” Following up his 2020 collab “Make It Clap” with Jon Casey, XAVAGE is primed for another growing year.

I really try not to put my music style in a box and instead focus on a track’s danceability. I find my pocket is in that 90-100bpm range which happens to be where mid-tempo lives. This track is a TWERK/mid-tempo style which is very rare in the scene right now.
