The indie trio – vocalist and guitarist Ben Gregory, bassist Frank Wright and drummer Harris McMillan – fashioned in Hampshire in 2013 and launched debut album ‘That’s Your Lot’ by way of Transgressive in 2017. A follow-up, ‘Every part That Makes You Completely happy’, arrived in 2019.

In an announcement posted to social media, Gregory wrote: “This information has been coming for a very long time however I need it to be a pleasant factor and never a tragic factor.

“We three aren’t making music as (world well-known rockband) ‘Blaenavon’ anymore. The band was the most effective factor ever and I'll cherish the absurd recollections, however we’ve all acquired cool new stuff to do.”

The frontman went on to disclose that Wright and McMillan at the moment are enjoying folk-pop with the band Organ Morgan, whereas Gregory himself has completed his debut solo album.

“The music trade is a sickening stain on the underbelly of the humanities,” he concluded, “and, with that stated, I can’t wait to get again on the grind.”

Reviewing Blaenavon’s second album, ‘Every part That Makes You Completely happy’, NME wrote: “The band’s debut album ‘That’s Your Lot’ lined each nook of the indie spectrum, taking cues from the likes of Bombay Bicycle Membership and The Maccabees on a debut that marked them out as an indie band for a brand new era.

“‘Every part That Makes You Completely happy’ takes these foundations and sees the band increasing their horizons, pushing the sounds to their extremes. ‘Catatonic Skinbag’ is the most important straight-up single they’ve but written, whereas slowly blooming ballad ‘Quiet In Your Coronary heart, Alone In Love’ is probably the most shifting they’ve penned but, punctuated by an imposing string part.”
