Mykki Blanco hyperlinks up with Blood Orange for glittery new single ‘It is Not My Selection’

Mykki Blanco has shared a suave new single titled ‘It’s Not My Selection’, a mid-tempo duet with London-based R&B artist Blood Orange (aka Devonté Hynes).

Constructed on soulful pad synths, jazzy horns and keys with understated percussion and a refined, but impactful bassline, the observe sees Blanco and Hynes commerce emotive strains bearing on what a press launch calls “the tug of battle that may be a dysfunctional relationship”.

‘It’s Not My Selection’ is the fourth single from Blanco’s forthcoming mini-album ‘Damaged Hearts And Magnificence Sleep’, following ‘Free Trip’, ‘Love Me’ (which options Jamila Woods and Jay Cue) and the Kari Fake collaboration ‘Summer season Fling’.

Serving as Blanco’s first longform effort since their signing to Transgressive in March, the file can be out this Friday (June 18), with bodily copies as a consequence of land on October 1.
