Apashe Taps Indian Hip-Hop Star RAGA for Fiery Single, "Gasoline"

The new track, which Apashe recently premiered at Lollapalooza Mumbai, will appear on his new album "Antagonist," due out this summer.

Apashe's no stranger to crafting extravagant musical experiences.

The influential electronic music producer has unveiled "Gasoline," a hotly anticipated single with Delhi hip-hop star RAGA on Kannibalen Records. The song will appear on Apashe's forthcoming album Antagonist, due out this summer. The album follows 2020's Renaissance and its immersive tour of the same name.

"Gasoline" fuses a brawny mixture of discordant synths in a futuristic style. Pair this with powerful strings, rhythms inspired by Hindi culture and RAGA's searing flow, and you get a transcendental track encapsulating Apashe's signature sound.

If the gas wasn't enough, the track comes with an exploratory music video. Cinematic and expressive views of India's desert and urban landscapes are spliced between shots of Apashe and RAGA, the latter of whom tells the story about his infatuation with a fearless woman.

Apashe's Antagonist will cover a breadth of crossover influences, including classical music, according to a press release shared with EDM.com. The album will also feature recordings of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborations with a number of "high-profile artists."

Apashe's music has continuously pushed boundaries, allowing him to land major sync placements in TV shows, video games and films. These include John Wick, Amazon's The Boys, Fast & Furious and more.

RAGA rose through Delhi's underground hip-hop scene after his song "Rap ka Mausam" became a hit, leading to his signing to Sony Music India's Artisttaan label in New Delhi. In 2022, he won the Clef Music Award for Best Lyricist (Rap).
