Lockdown easing delay might “irreversibly injury” UK reside music trade

Stay music organisation LIVE say the potential delay in lockdown easing within the UK could be “devastating” for the reside music trade, and will see reside music “being left behind and irreversibly broken”.

A call from Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due tomorrow (June 14) on whether or not to delay the deliberate scrapping of coronavirus restrictions on June 21.

After figures confirmed that the rumoured delay might see over 5,000 occasions cancelled, LIVE CEO Greg Parmley says they need “transparency” from the federal government on the method.

Parmley mentioned: “The briefing we're seeing of a delay to our reopening later this month is devastating to the reside music trade. Our analysis reveals {that a} delay of a month would result in the cancellation of over 5,000 deliberate occasions costing our trade tons of of tens of millions of kilos.

The NTIA have mentioned it's going to pursue authorized motion if night time time economic system venues – a lot of which have been shuttered for over 15 months – don't reopen for the return of reside occasions on June 21.
